  1. Cheers Andrew - looks good. I'm not a good paint sprayer, so getting a pro to do it is a good idea.
  2. How do you fix those small dents and dints that other people carelessly put in your Zed when they open their doors against you :xxx: Strip down the doors and bang from inside? Filler? Get a Northern Lass to suck them oot? I've got a few and it looks really crap in the sunshine. Cheerz.
  3. I haven't really got on with the latest version of Zonealarm, using it with XP. I used to love it because it's so easy to use, but when I upgraded to XP it causes my system to freeze up, and my father in laws PC as well. Replaced it now with Sygate Personal Firewall (also free) and no more probs. Some people here have also noticed problems with it on XP: http://www.download.com/3302-2092_4-10306241.html Think it depends strongly on which release of Zonealarm you get.
  4. Sounds a bit like the old MSBlast virus, which is probably still out there in t'internet. Does "msblast" show up as a process in your task manager? I had it, and it kept rebooting my PC and causing strange behaviour. Hope your're not just using the XP firewall!
  5. Yep, it's out first. And probably not our last. Even the missus is still talking about 3! He's the best thing in the world  Even better than the Zed! Missus is up and about now and doing really well. Happy Happy Happy.
  6. Already tried that mate ;) and it goes in the front. The wife'll have to be sqaushed in the back, to allow Dad and Son to eye the chicks up from the front seats. Luckily we also have a maaaaasive Rover for routine journeys!
  7. Cheers Mate. Missus is OK, drugged up to the eyeballs! The little (ish) one is doing really well and has a large pair of lungs for a 30 hours old!!! Missus is still in hospital, leaves me here in the eves drinking Duvel and Gin, and listening to Muse. Miss the little bugger!
  8. Well me!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: My new son was born yesterday at 19.47, weighing....get this.... 9lbs 10 oz!! Came out c-section 'cos my missus ain't no bucket!! He's already been taught about Air Induction Valves and 3000 mile oil changes. I have a feeling he'll be learning to drive in a 30 year old Z car! Am sooooooo happy!!! As well as pissed on Sloe gin ATM, but there you go. And he's a real Mini-me. Big nose, blue eyes, big legs and a huge c**k!!!!! That's me boy!
  9. What about A Jag XK8? Loads for below 20 grand now. Get noticed in that! eg: http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/CARS_popup.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=JAGUAR&model=XK&variant=&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=20000&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=ex5+3ls&miles=200&max_records=50&source=0&photo=1&sort=5&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH&start=3&distance=141&adcategory=CARS&channel=CARS&id=200435158965798
  10. Leaky diff on my TT, maybe more power than the NA may be a point there. Brakes, and 2 lots of rear tyres, and new disks/pads. Definately power related those! Otherwise bomb proof and fast as Feck.
  11. Wish I never read this thread! Mrs is now 8 days overdue and we WILL have our first baby by Fri / Sat! Is Gin in the milk a no-no thses days?
  12. 99 Spec front end, LED rear lights. A bit daring for rural Devon! I was in a large white Rover 820 as you were going towards Whimple and saw you again pulling out of the Whimple turning about 30 mins later. Nice one.
  13. http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/ Download that. It will install an application which opens any *.torrent file you click on in your browser. It will then ask you where you wish to save it to your hard drive, and it downloads. Once finished, it will be a recognisable *.mp3 file or .vob for dvd burning etc. The good thing about bittorrent is that the more people that share files, the quicker it is to download, unike kazaa, where you can be queued for hours. Good luck!
  14. If you have broadband then get a bittorrent client, then go to suprnova.org and download Album after album...... Broadband is best 'cos the files are usually big, whole albums, films etc. Also try edonkey for singles. Of course I don't do it myself. Some bloke down the pub told me how just after he fell off the back of a lorry.
  15. Have you fitted some front fogs? Driving around with them on in the daytime has got to be worth 50 BHP.
  16. Chris, It was on top of a mountain pass in the Massiv Central. :D Unfortunately I can't claim to have God like driving skills in that type of weather, lost count of the Renault 5's and 21's that overtook me! Nutters. Rest from that holiday are in my rides.
  17. Snowy Zed. Ooh it's in me sig as well.
  18. Hi again Speedy. http://www.ultimatejapcars.co.uk/ Club for Jap Cars in the South West. Don't get on there much, but they do organise meets at the M5 Exeter services occasionally. Went to their last one , was only one other Zed apart from mine, but plenty of other tasty machinery on show. It's followed by a burn down to Exmouth. Got any pics of your Zed? Matz.
  19. Hi Speedy. Sorry - no idea how to cure. But I though I had the only Zed in Exeter! Never seen another around. On the UJCC board as well?
  20. Did a similar trip 5 years ago in my S13 200sx. That was great too - 2 tents in the back (small one for stop offs and a 6 man for whan we got there) and 100+ bottles of wine by the time we reached Calais on the way back. Bloomin expensive holiday to do though. This one was about 300 quid for the ferry (Plymouth-Roscoff) about 500 quid in fuel, plus a gite for a week and accom on the way. Not to mention 400 quid for tyres when we got back. Adding it up, could have easily got 2 weeks all inclusive in the Caribbean! Wouldn't have had the Zed though.
  21. Errm, yep new but Old wheels. Put the old ones back on after I went to the tyre place and they asked why I was using 6.5 inch rims with 245 tyres! Done 30000 miles in it, 3 new sets over that time and no other tyre place noticed. Then neither did I! The BBS ones came on the car, lucky the bloke gave me the original UK ones.
  22. Went to the South of France last month, near Perpignan. Got the ferry over, drove down in the Zed. Here's some highlights: EXTREMELY narrow road along side a Gorge: And from the rear (stay up rocks please!!!): The Gorge (spot the Zed!): Up a mountain in the Massiv Central: Buy wine! (Brought back about 70 bottles) Left with 4mm of tread all round, when we got back, the rears looked like this: Then I gave her a good clean, new tyres, oil change. Well done Zed! 2000 MILES! No problems AT ALL! Top speed, hmm about 110 on the way back to the ferry. Max miles per tank 315! I was on fumes!!! And the French loved the Zed!! Thumbs up all over the place. Great continental cruiser, surprisigly practical and looks the dogs! Zeds rule!
  23. I wave at them. As I overtake them in my 10 year old 5000 quid, king of the Zeds, the Z32!
  24. Oh it's not that I don't like it! It just there was about 50 mins blah - blah -blah - 10 mins car action! Had to wait 55 mins to see the Clio cock an inside wheel!
  25. Do they actually have any cars to review this week? So far an embassasing Nissan Cube and an engineering firm that does up old Jags? Lean pickings!
