EBC Turbo Groove Discs
I've just been looking at reviews for the Porterfield, and quote: R4S: A carbon road-pad, offering the best street stopping ability of all without screeching or dusting, or taking time to warm up. Of course this is from someone trying to sell me them, but as my Zed is a daily driver in and around Bracknell with lots of stop-start driving, I don't want something that takes time to warm up! Oops sorry mister, my brakes don't work until 50 degrees C! Although saying that, I've had a quick search and in this thread: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13379&highlight=whifbitz Someone says they DO need warming up! Oh what to do what to do! May go for the Porterfields anyway, but it's an expensive mistake to make.

EBC Turbo Groove Discs
Hmm, so I am now thinking of 3g 20GR disks, Porterfield R4S Fast road pads on the front. I was thinking of something a bit more budget on the rear, perhaps standard disks and blackstuff pads. However, as my mate at work points out, if the blackstuff on the rear heat up first, and grip the rear wheels while the fronts are still heating up, it may cause instability. Hmm, it's never easy. Any comments/experience of this? Matt. Zedding on a budget tightly controlled by the wife.

Aww - they've taken her off now it seems, unless teh site is too busy. She was at 2 grand last time I looked. Hmm, maybe that's the way to afford my brake upgrade.. :D

Cheers for that- 160 quid for a pair is OK. What about pads then, I've used greenstuffs on my Rover 820 and wasn't impressed, low dust though. And I've heard blackstuffs wear very quickly.

So what you are saying, if I can read between the lines, is that you don't think the're much good.;) So waht's a good similarly priced alternative? I don't think the wife can see the benefits of a total AP Racing upgrade.

Worst drivers....
Oooh - foglights. Soo many things about foglights. On when it's not foggy, off when it is. Rears on in a queue of traffic so you are being blinded. I can see you! You're only 6 feet away! How much BHP gain is there for a Vectra with it's foglights on?

Worst drivers....
Definately agree on the roundabout thing, using the right lane to go straight on (if it's not a dual carriageway) drives (sic) me insane as the wife will testify. As for middle lane drivers, well I just feel sorry for them as I blast pass on the inside, ton+. That teaches em! Arg! Don't get me started! Oh, and people up my arse in a 30 zone when I'm doing about 32. And funnily enough they're not there when it becomes de-restricted. Good day for post tally.

I hate the French
France has neither winter nor summer nor morals. Apart from these drawbacks it is a fine country. France has usually been governed by prostitutes." Mark Twain > > > I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me." General George S. Patton > > > Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without your accordion." Norman Schwarzkopf > > > We can stand here like the French, or we can do something about it." Marge Simpson > > > "As far as I'm concerned, war always means failure" Jacques Chirac, President of France > > > "As far as France is concerned, you're right." > > >---Rush Limbaugh, > > > "The only time France wants us to go to war is when the German Army is sitting in Paris sipping coffee." > > >--- Regis Philbin > > > "The French are a smallish, monkey-looking bunch and not dressed any better, on average, than the citizens of Baltimore. True, you can sit outside in Paris and drink little cups of coffee, but why this is more stylish than sitting inside and drinking large glasses of whiskey I don't know." > > >--- P.J O'Rourke (1989) > > > "You know, the French remind me a little bit of an aging actress of the 1940s who was still trying to dine out on her looks but doesn't have the face for it." > > >---John McCain, U.S. Senator from Arizona > > > "You know why the French don't want to bomb Saddam Hussein? Because he hates America, he loves mistresses and wears a beret. He IS French, people." > > >--Conan O'Brien > > > "I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France!" > > >---Jay Leno > > > "The last time the French asked for 'more proof' it came marching into Paris under a German flag." > >--David Letterman > > > How many Frenchmen does it take to change a light bulb? One. He holds the bulb and all of Europe revolves around him. > > > "The heaviest cross I had to bear was the Cross of Lorraine" > > >---Winston Churchill > > > > > >Next time there's a war in Europe, the loser has to keep France! ---------------------- I quite like France actually! Nice cheese.:) Matz.

New Car!!!!
I thought going from a 1.1 fiesta 55 bhp to a 171 bhp 200sx about 5 years ago was a dramatic change, but this must be some kind of record. Blimey. Unfortunately my 200sx ended in a crumpled heap - so yes, be CAREFUL!.

PETROL Consumption
Filled up with Super U for the first time on Friday, has given me 250 miles so far, (including racing a new STI this morning, he was faster to 120, but I got the moral victory, my car cost less than his and I got a suntan while doing it) and I expect another 10-15 miles. Never got more than 230 per tank of Optimax however I drove. Very smoooooth as well it was.
