ecu
ive got the same thing on mine. Mine gives me a rev limit of 7550 and changes to when then variable valve timing kicks in, it also seems to ignore high gear fuel maps... which i presume means "use more fuel" lol so more power we presume, and also maps suitable of running 15 psi + i believe.

What do we think?!
Some friends and I are heading of to Le Mans next year for the 24 hour race, so we've decided to find a comedy vehicle to go in... So far were thinking somthing along the lines of Clicky Will this old girl make it (or somthing similar) Or can anyone think of some better (i.e more rubbish! but for peanuts?!) Obviously got to be big enough to take 4 of us or so plus a weeks worth of camping gear/beer to mid france! Discuss...

Induction kits? What do people reccomend?

smoke
To be fair mate, there are an awful lot of zeds that randomly smoke from the right hand exhaust from time to time. I know mine has done it once, i panicked and yet it wont do it again. So id say dont worry about it, i tkae it you let it idle from cold to hot, and then it started the smoke. If you take it for a little drive, after a mile the smoke will probably clear and not return. thats what happened to mine anyway. I tihnk its some oil seepage somewhere, tat seems to affect TTs on the drivers side exhaust. Very odd, heard of a few do it though

You could have a very nice bmw 8 series for that money Or there are lots of different tvrs to choose from Or Few interesting twin turbo maserati's quatraporte 3.2v6 Or A very sexy Alpha Romeo GTV 3.0 Or Jag Xk8 (might even be able to find a supercharged one!)

I raher like those as well!! An old colleague at a renault feugo or however its spelt... He loved it too, a fair few years ago now though. Somthing i had never heard of until he told me about it, and almost impossible to find for sale!

Oh My God....
End of the day, its gutting but for a car of this type, being so cheap, i would see it is that youve got like £2k plus to spend on repairs. Thats the theory ive always taken... Oh and the old golden rule, keep £1500 for them in a pot at all time and they will be generally good as gold. If you spend that money, they will break... Amazing that in 1989, the japense perfected the art of "mobile networked banking..." ;) Worth getting it fixed up mate, once its done its done and it will help its resale value, or just sell it as a project, if its a good shell someone will buy it to rebuild and buy one in good order.

It looks like an auto TT ecu... Only info i could find very quickly... Apparently from an VG30DET (which i tihnk is an error, should be DETT...) Info!

not a good idea at all to run it on regular... Since its an import, it will have originally been mapped for Jap fuel @ 100ron (regular over here is a piss poor 95). Even more so with the stand alone ECU i would say it is an absolute necessity to run it on v-power (if you can, 99 ron). Check what its been mapped for, but if your not careful and you do run it on 95 ron you greatly increase the chance of detonation and that normally spells good by engine...

autobox problem
to be honest, you would struggle to sell an auto zx at the moment anyway, let alone one that needs a gearbox for good money so i doubt you'll get too many offers! ;) Have you checked the obvious? Fluids all correct? Is it the same in all gears? Try doing the gearbox diagnostic, been a few posts on here recently about it. Search is your friend!

lol hell fire zx-eyes you wanna get that looked at!! Mine will get 240 on the motorway and 200 in my normal driving, mostly round town not giving it absolute whelly but as and when needed :D

My ECU isnt on that list?! LOL 2371M 41P14 A18-000 MC9K 3X01 Mine is apparantly remanufactured (has had a Mines Chip in it)

stupid question
very unlikly. Unless it was slipping but you would know about that. End of the day once the plates are engaged as long as it doesnt slip its just basically a mechanical link. Get your self a crappy run about and drive that for a few days, then get back in your zed and its like having it brand new all over again. Never feel slow then! :D
