Half asleep last night at about 10 ish i was sat in my local McDonalds drive through getting some tea. Anywho, up behind me this low slung sports car arrived. Looking in the mirrors i thought "i know that shape..." No less than a Z31 NA 300zx had arrived behind me. I mean what are the chances!! There is a local one kicking about, but this was a different one looked really clean as well. Miserable sod didnt even come and say hello... bet if mine was a non turbo he would have ;) haha

ah ha, that would explain why my boost guage goes to about 12psi with standard boost ;) Time to order the controller!

lol, dont dare test... I just fill it up again and drive down the road to the next petrol station... and the process just repeats its self. To quote the owners manual: "Repeat until wallet and is withered and wrung out" Just out of interest, with respect to the guages when you turn the ignition on, the Boost Gauages goes to a value, what should that be? Dead central? Mine goes to about, 2 or 3 psi, is that how inaccurate it is? (as in the guage should be reading 0?)

not sure if the light even works with mine?! Its been on the "E" Line, dont dare test it! lol

Mechanically they are pretty much identical, changes were to the air con controllor (you could select direction) Airbags became standard on the drivers side, the seat belts moved from the doors to the B pillars and thats about it really. From memory, they might have had 3 point seatbelts in the rear, or that might just be UK cars... can anyone clear that up? Possibly electric seats on the passanger side on jap models came in with series 2 Series 4 introduced electronic hicas i think, along with a revised spoiler design and velour interior.

I have an aquaintence with a very high powered (ergo expensive to run) skyline, most of the work carried out on it happens down south. Its cheaper for him to have his breakdown cover then say its dead outside his house they come and collect it, put a sticker of "not to be started" on the windscreen and it gets ferried down south dropped of and the same happens to get it home... From memory he has to pay a little extra but one trip saves him half as much again fuel i believe!

Thats the normal speed for city driving!! To be honest, if it gets taht bad i tihnk they will be swamped by people just not paying tax end of the day, if the car isnt registered to you or taxed (therefore not insured) what can anyone do about it.. Okay they could throw the book at the current few who just dont bother, but what could possibly be done if 30million people lost their licenses for driving with no tax.... absolutly nothing. The system works because most people play by the rules, thye then have the time to analy abuse the few who dont... So it will just end up in "revolution" people just wont care and chaos will ensue. And i'll be happy running around my in my 300zx while everyone knocks seven bells out of one another

like any high performance car, they feel shit if they have been stood for a bit. Its amazing, my £500 run about shed i can start and drive like a normal car at normal speeds, my ZX feels so delicate for the first 5 miles or so, relectant to change (due to auto fluid not getting up to temperature quickly in this cold weather since its got the biggets aftermarket auto box oil cooler in the known universe!!) and just generaly isnt as fantastic as it is after those few miles. I run mine to work about a couple of times a month, gives it a clear out... and the rest of the time a short sharp whipping down some lanes clears its lungs!! But back on track, all cars clatter a bit if left standing for a while!

Bless it... When we ran the diagnostic on it showed up as all clear which suprised me, as soon as you set it to base idle tho.. Stopped dead Also, it was this one that was rising and droping 10 to 15*c in water temperature every few seconds wasnt it bird??

It takes a week to change between models, it just to be far quicker i know u can select the exact paint code now, but that takes the fun out of it and relies on people listing properly! you get so many in the "unknown" catagory its hardly worth bothering with the "2004 to 2005 special edition 5 door hatchback model without airconditioning but with cruise control" option... :)

The switch on the accelerator is the kickdown switch, not directly linked to "power mode" Power mode will also be enabled from sharp changes in the throttle. Kickdown is to force the gearbox into the lowest available gear (annoying if you catch it at 70mph!) Even if its in power mode it shouldnt rev to the redline before it changes if your just cruising, it just means its quicker to change down if you increase the throttle, and will let you rev it harder although i cant remember what happens if you say have it in drive with overdrive off and gradully increase the throttle from say 40mph, it should let the car accelerate to the redline without it being in "power" mode. Perhaps try resetting the auto ecu, (unplug the battery overnight job i think, (obviously resets the cars ecu as well) When you say ECU codes are fine, from the engines ecu or the autogearbox's ecu?

Im not going mad then! Especially with those scorpian exhausts i have on mine, a really fruity note!

You would have thought so... Cant imagine it does the difs much good, and i bet to makes the 4 wheel drive system get in a right panick. Not an expert on liners, how sophisticated was the 4 wheel drive on the R33's? Mine was an E36 Coupe Just had an induction kit and it sounded fantastic. Loved that car, just expensive to insure at 18 :o

Yeah i know, was asking what the supra straight 6 sounded like ;) Had a 323i for a bit, sounded fantastic for what it was. The otherday i got it into my head that my zed sounded a bit like an Alfa V6, best noise ever... Am i imagining this? Think about it...

Comes with the original GTR alloys, bin those cheapies and get the proper ones back on.... Id just miss the engine noise. I'll be honest, more i hear the RB26, just not an interesting noise.... Dare i say it, 1.4 saxo with bucket under the bumper? BMW Straight six is far more tuneful, whats the supra like?

There is an ex nissan rebuild on autotrader at the moment. I would put a link up, but autotrader has caught gay and now doesnt work via links. I mean what was wrong with the old autotrader, now it takes a week to find anything and it wont search properly.... Gone are the days when i would take pleasure from picking through autotrader... I know they have made it crap so people will buy the book again... Anywho, rant over. There is a nice 240 on there at the moment, one of the ones that Nissan rebuilt at about the turn of the centuary :)

I have the money now, not sure if i can justify it... I just keep a slight look out just incase i can find a manual with big ass turbos... lol Or lots of power upgrades!

High clutch pack failure it sounds like... Change fluid, you might get lucky... But it sounds deaadddd to me!

awesome as your car is si. It has one major issue! It puts everyone to shame about theres... so they want to sell, hence a glut on the market ergo low prices... So you have single handedly made the the ZX is worth nothing ;) hehe. Now you have said about that dimpled effect i went to look at mine, and now i hate the front and rear bumpers and desperatly want it fixed so its smooth.... dam you!
