Well.. I think it was a Zed, had some pretty heafty bodywork modification. Each to their own! You were heading south, i was heading north in my grey LWB, at no mph... lack of fuel!

Depends on the age of maxima i would have thought, only the second and third gen maxima 85-88 and 89-94 that used a VG based engine, which was probably more related to the Z31 motor, only 160bhp ish NA Did also have the VE, which is similar apparantly to the VG30, but the head and camshafts are totally different, interestingly, it is a chain driven engine. Why oh why did nissan put a belt on the VG30, grrrrrrr

its not going beyond 0? or past "half" of the boost side, i.e 7psi?

Ive just got nissan FAST, which is the database parts system thing... Does anyone happen to know their vin number just to see if its working. ah dear... unless you get someone else to tow it for you ;) But even then, the zed is a big girl, suitable trailer around 800kg's and a zed at say 1600 so you hve 2400kgs there, on an unbraked trailer is quite somthing to tow. Dirty great 4x4 teritory only sadly!

How come your insurance is so high? Make sure you can legally tow a trailer with a zed on it, GTW would be at least getting on for 4 tonnes there!

i know how you feel, if they go wrong or somthing isnt right it makes you feel so down its unrealy. Yet when they magically self repair (like mine seems to...) and they are suddenly the most fantastic machine ever. Friday night and saturday-day i had written an advert for mine, shortlisted its replacement and had checked out insurance.... went for a drive and it was perfect... Short listed cars in the bin.... again!

Hmm Well it was a thought, do you know what i mean by lockup? Can somtimes feel rough. Do some tests with it, turn OD of and check the RPM at the speed you were doing (neigh on 100mph at 3500rpm i think?) then turn it back on and see if it returns to normal. As Paul said, if it was on cruise at that speed and it was finding it hard to keep the speed it might change down and then back up again as it got on more level road...

sounds like its coming out of lockup (atho the rev increase is a bit much for that), does it feel any different? A clunk at all as it increases in revs?

are you wanting to remove the 155mph limiter? Surly the best way is to get the car chipped...! Mr Andy P would make an astounding job im sure, being the fountain of knowledge that he is! Very reasonably priced as well!
