  1. Yeahhhhh Grey for the win!
  2. both grey as well... Obviously the best ;)
  3. Ive had renault laguna for 10k now, cost me £460 with 97k on the clock, i get about 36 to the gallon from it on my commute (about 40 each way) and its been good as gold. Thats a 2.0 Petrol.. dont be suckered by these old diesels they arnt as good as people think they are... The common rail ones now are fantastic but the older just normal direct injections tend to be very slow and not that good on diesel... Taking into account that its at least 4p a litre more and usually more frequent servicing required.... You'll get a much nicer petrol car for the same money as you would a poor diesel... Worth thinking about!
  4. ah that was a good 3 or 4 years ago... In those pictures my parents still had the Discovery... and that went years ago. I know it was before i could drive so its definatly more than 3 years ago! Thats not fair... id have jumped in the car and gone up there!
  5. lol aww well you wont get snow down there you need to come up north! LOL, even we dont get much up here :( Last time it snowed properly tho it was like this!
  6. Ive just had a thought, me being very Dozy.... Ian competes in the EDC lol the BDC... is of course different lol! Doh!
  7. Possibly hazza, hes done it for a few years now only lives up the road from me... I went to school with his lass lol, she was in my form for 5 years... Claim to fame!
  8. Have you never seen snow??? Bless!!
  9. Seems pretty good, but depends on the car... Mine isnt brilliant because of the chipped ecu, doesnt make much difference around town but mine is fairly poor on the motorway (uses low gear fueling maps in high gears apparently:s) End of the day though, 15 years old + fuel consumption isnt going to be great, when they were new most road testers struggled to do better than 22 to the gallon on the combined... Official government say they will do 33 to the gallon at 56mph... my arse!
  10. do some searches mate, loads and loads about this... But to quickly answer, the auto ECU will work fine in a manual car (just no the other way around) There is some wiring to do, but it doesnt look rocket science.... Also depends if its an NA or a TT, and if you want the vacuum assistance with the clutch or not then you need things like balance bars and vacuum assistance tanks as well as master and slave clutch cylinders and front half of the propshaft etc etc etc
  11. First year of allocation to the UK was 375 for 1990 and 450 for 1991, but after 91 i have no idea... Jeremy Clarkson also quoted there being 1390 300zxs on british roads by the end of sales in 1994...
  12. Or if its an old one i tmight have exceeded maximum use... I had a BMW one do this once, they need resetting/recoding to the car. Basically 256 or 512 opperations i expect and it "uncoded" its self from the car, luckily i found a guide on how to fix it before i took it to bmw... Id only had that fob a year as well. Could be that!
  13. You'll know Ian Harrison then? Sort of Purple/Black S13? I think i'll be at some of these this year, saw a couple last year and they were great!
  14. Also, last episode of the first season he does the same with another intern with a paperclip jamming the door... Showing he torments one each year :) Its awesome, sad as i am, I have them all although i think im an epsiode or two behind on season 7 :(
  15. That is awesome... Fantsatic car, every time i look at one they dont look as old as i think they are going to... which is a good thing!
  16. lol its that good then... okay mate well i shal keep up the search. My parents have refused to let me park an old volvo at the house, so theres snobbery for you! So i now need to find somewhere to put it... at this rate we'll be going in my laguna, not far of one of these comedy wrecks actually!
  17. Maybe so, but we need somthing capable of reaching motorway speeds 4 up with a ton of gear in the boot! And although i may be lithe and attractive, the same cant be said for my mates who between them must way 3 or 4 tonnes...! However we could lash some lada's together to make some sort of rusty comunistic battle barge..!
  18. I have my original flare!! Which i nearly did somthing very stupid wiht, i thought it was a big comedy pen the dealer had left in there for writing things on windscreens so i was about to take the top of it when my mate shouted at me that it was probably a flare... I hadnt noticed all the writing in Japense.... so its now sat on my book shelf. Thank god i listened haha
  19. thats why were taking a volvo... it runs on nuts and bolts and they dont go wrong lol.... Or we had considered an old merc

I believe its because there is no model report as saz said, but there is no model report because the car doesnt pass some standards. However if its 10 years old it doesnt need the model report and so gets around the problem. somthing to do with SVA tests. To hazard a guess it will be to do with safety standards since the later ones were OBDII complient so it cant be that!
  21. 80%! Wheyy quite proud of that!
  22. LOL well good news then at least it will do it. I was looking really for an estate... But an omega was another one on the cards... they are fairly good cars tho and look okay... more against what we were looking for. ALthough ive drawn the line at a 200 series volvo... i do actually want to get there! What would you be wanting for the Mv6? spec and pics? :) Have to think about insurance and fuel... the oldest of us is 25 or so, and im only 21 so we have to consider these things!
  23. 74 for my tickets and camping. We havnt booked the ferry yet.
  24. yeah but you live practically in france! ive got the rest of the world to cross before i even get to your spot! lol Cant take the zed, 3 fat guys and me just wont go in the poor thing! :)
