idling probs
its still on the drivers side on an import. However it may have been moved up behind the trim, it should be just below the bonnet release handle about2 inch by 1 inch grey rectangular connector.

As far as i was aware, operating temperature should be around 80*c (i think somone once mentioned 80 to 85) so yours is sat around 70 ish bit low... has it got a standard rad in there? The idle at 750 is about right i thought?? Perhaps a little more 850 but its not a million miles out... as to why its having different drops in idle each time on different cylinders i wouldnt like to say. I thought that the idea of the power balance test was designed to test cylinders that wernt firing and also as a rough guide to compression within the engine... Obviously the lower drop in revs the less resistance the "Dead" piston is giving so we assume that there is somthing wrong. In your case though i think not, being seemingly completly random it must be somthing else. I have never yet understood o2 sensors altho someone once said i tihnk that it was supposed to be about 12 changes in voltage every 10 seconds for a fully working one BUT somtimes mine sit and do nothing at tickover, other times they fluctuate nicely and other times they stick at values... Werid but i do know they only seem to do alot when your on the move!

Battery light
Alternator failing i would say. Struggling to keep the battery voltage, obviously the harder the engine revs the more power you get from the alternator. So at tickover its not producing enough juice so the battery will drain but at higher speeds it will charge... So i expect it will steadily get worse till the stage when it wont charge the battery at all and you'll be left with a car that wont start!

Isle Of Man
Right guys. Actually something between my friends up here in lancaster, but there are 8 or so of us heading over to the isle of man on the 29th of Feb for the weekend. But i thought i would offer it out on here if anyone fancies it :) Now its up to everyone to arrange their hotels etc but the rough costs we are working of is £126 for ferry (sea cat from Heysham - returning to liverpool) Plus any extras seats/first class and also a fuel supliment. I think ours based on two adults per car is £146 or so Accomdation for a twin or double room at the Hilton is aproximatly £146 (bearing in mind thats per room, not per person - it does however mean if that you want a room on your own its still the same price!) + Your fuel, food, other expenses etc The thought did just occur to me that smithy is over there so it might be a nice opportunity to meet the man. So smithy if your reading this when im over there i might pop over to say hello... If anyone is asking "why the isle of man"... simple, no speed limits on the out of town roads and its mainly fast flowing bends - perfect zed country :D

Events for 2008
I have laid out a little calendar below so meets and events can be pencilled in as and when we know them I rather enjoyed the monthly meets we held last year, was nice to meet new people and see different parts so i would suggest we carry on with that. Now we did it on a rota basis last year which worked well. I ended last years with the longlands at tewit fields so if someone else would like to choose then let me know. Obviously needs to be somewhere that has a car park and can cater for kids etc We also have Mascrat on the 2nd Monday of every month - however I’m not entirely sure how long they will be going on for. Although I may have a replacement scheme in mind - watch this space! February Sunday 24th Monthly meet TBC March 29/02/08 to 2/03/08 Isle of Man April Sunday 13th April Tan Hill May Saturday 17th of May Jap Fest @ Castle Combe i went last year and it was a great day out. So if there is interest then we could do a bit of a convoy or somthing. June July August September October November December
