  1. Wise words, is that different to a thermostat? Ok, i've heard of the resistor trick - is that so the ECU has a healthy condition from the det regardless?
  2. Sounds like a good fettlng regime, I'm being dense and it's late - CTS? Can the Det sensor be gotten rid of? it's a bit useless at the RPM you need it at!
  3. Yep, get all the stuff out thats over engineered, cuts down on leaks and maintenance!! Lol, thought you said you where at a loose end with the zed in the other thread!!
  4. Cheers, i'll make up some plates then!
  5. How will having the EGR removed effect emissions for the MOT test, will have Cats on car for Test. Cheers Guys,
  6. What part of the south east are you in?
  7. This happens to me on a regular basis as i leave the car standing for a week or more at a time. Overtime the oil drains from the heads and when i first start it up its got a light consistent tapping, take it out for a run and it should clear up to the normal running. Worried the crap out of me the first time!!!
  8. Do a search on google for Mjp motorsports - mike fenley, he is the clubs oem parts specialist!
  9. Be careful, the gearbox aint light especially when wet. Need to remove the wiring and starter motor. Brace and jack around the drain plug as thats about the centre of gravity. It has a tendancy to fall to the passenger side iirc. You'll need to strap it up. There are ten bolts i think, two you will need to access from the engine bay. Then its a matter of backing up the box and lower at the same time so that the plastic speed sensor clears, it's fragile so be careful. HTHU
  10. I've seen a yellow work van with eagle works and an eagle motif, the eye of the eagle on the back door look like it had a lens in it! Maybe one to watch for!!
  11. Was thinking about it, the spacing and 228mm diameter for the studs would be to big, it's late lol, thanks for bearing with. So if above word "radius" is replaced with diameter, it would be correct. Thank you,
  12. Never thought about that, good point, is that the voice of experience? :D
  13. Aha! i understand now, so it's a radius to bolt centre then and the five stud pattern would be five bolts at 72 degrees apart. Thank you once again
  14. Cheers, wanted to know as seperate bits of information, so what would pcd of 114.3 relate to? Tar,
  15. I was thinking as much, its an outside chance, will have to make my own then. Thank you
  16. Does anyone know to working drawings that have measurements for the engine bay of the Z32, i'm trying to make up some working drawings. If there in the online workshop manual, if you could confirm or any other sources would be brilliant! Tar,
  17. A while back you identified my alloys as Volks Rays TE37 - they seem to have enough space, just! What kind of margin is needed for metal expansion with the heat produced? Cheers,
  18. I have a inner diameter of 370mm and around 120mm or there abouts from the hub face to the back of the alloy, I was considering having an 8 pot caliper set with 330mm discs on the front and 6 pot 330mm on the back. i realise with the wheel size i have won't be adequate for larger brakes that i'll need for regular track days and i'll have to buy some new alloys for the track use. If i can get away with this in the interim with the z i have, i'm planning a project with another slicktop for track only use. It'll ween me onto track driving gradually. What would be the best/competent track brake setup? .
  19. Would it be correct to say the offset is the difference between the centre line of the alloy and the line where the alloy mounts to the hub, so that you could change this by shimming in between the hub/disc and the alloy. Have you got a any links for how that affects suspension geometry? Thanks again for bearing with me!
  20. I believe you told me a wile ago how to work them out, i just can't find it. I'm thinking about the k sport 6 or 8 pot calipers, its the size of the disc that concerns me, need a set up that will withstand the occassional track day. Also what would be the best setup for a regular track day car? Thanks,
  21. are you sure our not frying the chips, need to ideally do electronic on a earth mat with an earth strap? Ignore me otherwise :p
  22. Hi, Need an explanation of PCD, offset and how i calculate area needed for brakes as i want to know what size i can get behind my volks TE73 17 inch wheels. any links, advice would be great Tar, Ste
