  1. Spot on mate! I spent most of my sixth form in the gym, twice a day, its better than drugs the feeling you get, its a shame work gets in the way now :(
  2. that will be a nice little setup! the turbos are big enough to warrant the bigger injectors then lol. I'm still a little fresh with compressor maps but they dont look too laggy! and they seem to have put out some decent numbers in the states! Good luck mate!
  3. No worries, Oh yeh PE aren't bad from what i read, depends on the combo of turbos your going for - might even work out cheaper buying the lot as a combo. I do know injectors of any make, have tolerances in how much fuel they actually push out, that's why its a good idea to flow check them and match them accordingly
  4. i need a set, put me down - will they come with the screws etc as i always manage to break the old ones?
  5. I can't seem to find the link i want, it involves machining out so that the newer style can be accepted. The easiest way would be the 300 degree rail.
  6. or some modifications to the lower phelum. Hold on i'll see if i can find the link about it
  7. yes, if you haven't had any modifications to the engine from the standard injectors will be a different pintle shape
  8. Nothings impossible but the cost=benefit probably explains why it hasn't been done.
  9. It's not directly linked to the brake pedal action from what i understand. The speed sensor are effectively sending pulses to the ecu, the spacing between these gives a time that allows the abs ecu to reference against know times through it design parameters i.e size of wheel, torque produced by braking system etc - the sampling rate wouldn't be as high as a modern alternative sensor and the tolerances that the ecu references would be alot wider. This results in any change to wheel size, caliper clamping torque (pressure applied by calipers, distance caliper is from wheel centre) even the tyres to a certain extent. The more you change the original spec the closer you are to the limits of the abs parameters. above is abit crude but in essence the abs is just applying and depressing the capilers to keep the wheels within the design parameters of deceleration, the calculation it makes are based on the original setup
  10. No worries, true i missed that out, but no one on here that wants it will be able to do it and those with the technical no how won't be bothered. If you can drive a TVR without any driving aids then i can't see why you can't drive this car without it. Just more carefully than your average car. the only point is that your going to have to convince plod if the worst happens lol
  11. Way i see it you have three options then: 1. Replace and refurb the original setup - useful if all you do is spirited driving on the roads - gtr R33 calipers have been shown to work with abs setup 2. Go for a cheaper upgrade "big brake" kit and pull the fuse or ditch the abs all together 3. The more expensive specific designed for kits such as stoptech etc
  12. I'd agree with that, the z's brakes where designed at a time when the technology was in its infancy, it rudimentary at best. It goes without saying that a modern equivalent installed on a z with the appropriate parameters would be the best solution, **** knows how long that would take tho!
  13. I was having a bad day yest, sorry for the ranting :p what i meant was not that you shouldn't take care with a 300zx, you're spot on with that, it's more that most people in an emergency won't be able to do pumping brakes effectively. Thinking about it, it's still a risk if plod catch you but i'd say if you want bigger brakes and can't afford or don't want something like the stoptech kit , then removing the abs fuse is probably safer than leaving it in situ.
  14. would need a date but mid feb is good for me. will pay when i get home put me down.
  15. It probably made you a more careful driver, granted, but its there for that day when you wake up 6am and your off to work and its icey and you're not awake. fair enough on a track, abs is a pain in the arse, i know it is but on the road where there's oil, ice, loose surfaces abs is a good idea.
  16. well that's where doing abit of research and working the sodding thing out my be useful. If your lazy ring up one of the break specalists like stoptech or brembo etc they willing and give you the information you need
  17. It not anything to do with "the better driver", which is a load of *****ck tbh because no one is always on the ball, my point is by removing a safety device you've opened yourself up to a world of pain if the insurance or mr plod find out. From what i've been reading, you can have greatly improved braking (from calculations with better materials etc and still stay inside the abs working parameters.
  18. oh well thats decided it then, cheers Dave
  19. I've got a push me pull you, slide with a turny knob and lcd - can you swap this for one of those with a face?
  20. I understand the reasons behind saying that but i don't think you'd fair well if you ever smashed into anyone or (hope it never happens) kill someone - the insurance company will void the claim and if the courts are involved they are not going to look favorably on someone that removed a safety device. Don't mean to put a downer on it but its different to engine mods and the likes. If its for track use, your cool remove it but for the road it was designed for a reason
  21. I've got to agree, the zed is the only car i think that really suits pearl white like that! Needs nicely tinted windows though to set it off, and keep the thing clean most be hilarious!
  22. I see a resemberlance their to yours, that's not a bad likeness. Cool!
  23. If you want to get away from performance car costs, i'd say the S4 would probably be easier to look after and much more forgiving, and still have alot of grunt. but i've recently seen a R33 GTR for £6500 that would of changed my mind. That doesn't really help does it lol!
  24. I'd like to come to this in my now fully working zed lol Would need to know a date because of work but would be good fun! Cheers, Ste
  25. around £200 - 300 for a good EBC like above or the profec B (i have this), very easy to do, would take a couple of hours. Your abit far away in port talbot, furthest i go is newport otherwise i'd do it for you!! :mac1: Which ever kit you buy you will more than likely need extra bits: i used two 6mm (i think) tee pieces, one smaller 4mm (i thnk) tee piece, two more 6mm connectors and two lengths of 6mm pipe. HTH
