  1. did no one spot clarkson's z cars t-shirt???? It must of featured a z32 but i couldnt spot it?
  2. not me either but whereabouts? i spotted a blue zed parked outside a house on hanger lane. Doesnt appear to be anyone on here. Did it look to be a jap?
  3. No cant make it work. Can you email me the details of sending my clock to you and how to pay you please Andy. Cheers, Tom tp_ventham@msn.com
  4. between the gunnerbury lights and ealing common. looked very nice
  5. had a good search and this is the only relevant bit i can find....... £10 sounds like a good price but i have got nothing on this weekend so i am keen to see if i can do myself proud and fix it myself. Any other advice other than the above, Andy?
  6. The reliability of my digital clock seems to be getting worse and worse. I have done the repair on twinturbo.net and it was ok for 6 months but now it is going down hill. Is it worth replacing the resistor and trying it again or is always going to be FUBARed? How much do you charge for a 100% working clock? Will one of yours work forever?
  7. m40 all the way. come down all the way until you get to hanger lane on the a40 then the north circular should dump you out at kensal green or something which is close to camden. M1 has nightmare traffic because of the widenning. 50 average speed camara zone all the way through it which isnt much fun in a zed. That is if you can get up to 50 thorugh it... M40 is a great road and apart from around oxford doesnt have much traffic. A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend etc clocked his highest speed on that road.
  8. thanks guys. Looks like it could be a route to go down. It is Nissan parts from Courtesy Nissan so maybe they are made in Japan or is there a nissan factory in USA? Is it a longer winded process to try and prove that they were made in N.America or is it all automatic?
  9. from when i had a conzult done which showed my O2 sensors were kaput the tell-tale sign was that the values stayed constant when the throttle was blipped when they should of been racing up and down. No movement when throttled means the sensors are dead (i think).
  10. i would first get a diagnostic to confirm your suspicions mate. There should be someone in your area that would be will to give you 15mins of their time to test it on a conzult.
  11. guys, one of the elements (if that is what you call it, basically one of the heated wires/lines that goes across the rear windscreen) doesnt and has never worked. Not a mega problem as it in not in a key area and any misting that is covered by that wire eventually gets cleared by the adjacent wires. Just wondering if there is an easy fix for this???
  12. surely the point is that the government takes a certain set percentage cut from every litre of petrol that is pumped in this country. This value is pretty high (more than 30%???) and is set by the chancellor in his budget. The ethos behind increasing the percentage amount of tax on road fuel is to try and dissuaed people from driving (eco-warriers and safety busy bodies) and get them to take public transport. Although probably statistically effective it has never seemed a good enough solution to a problem by the government to keep increasing the tax to stop people doing something (cigarettes, alcohol, etc) as it just pushes people into pauperdom by not addressing the issue or offering quality alternatives. anyway, back to the point..... The issue is that the gov't take a percentage of petrol cost and is therefore making a killing out of the rising international oil price and is raking in more money than it would of budgetted on getting. This money cannot be already be budgeted on NHS, schools, etc so if it was cut another tax wouldnt have to go up but conversely it is swelling gov't coffers for future projects that it wont have to up taxes to fund in the future (but how many of you truely believe that wont get glossed over when they up taxes again). The solution would be for the gov't to set a specific amount of tax that would be payable on each litre of fuel (say 50p as an arbitary number) at each budget so any fluctuations in the oil price wont have as great of a price impact of the price of petrol at the pumps that the consumer pays. Less big magnitude changes in the price at the pumps caused by this arbitary amount being taken will mean the oil demand price will stay more consistent and let the supply and demand curve settle out. Everyone is a winner, the gov't gets a certain amount of revenue from car fuel based on the annual amount of litre of fuel bought times the tax amount (eg 50p) which will be a pretty reliable prediction as fuel sales will stay pretty constant if the price doesnt fluctuate as much with this new buffered system, the consumer benefits from lower price on fuel they buy and see the same level of govt spending, oil companies will benefit as their pricing becomes clearer (Xp govt levy (constant) + Xp profit (constant and low because of competitive market place) + Xp oil price (variable still)) allowing them to budget more clearly for future projects. the downside would be that govt doesnt benefit from rising oil price which is why this common sense approach will never happen.
  13. i will, i promise..........just not yet!
  14. check your emails mate. Your should have an email i sent to your hotmail address. Ta, Tom
  15. I have got some friends in Canada and was thinking of buying some stuff from the USA sent to them and for them to mail it to me or bring it over when they next come back. Does anyone know how much the import duty between the US and canada? surely it would be significantly lower than US to UK/Europe?
  16. not me but i used to live on munster road back when i was at uni. Flat above the ladbrokes near the junction with lille road.
  17. it is just confusing how it is phased. it basically means the symbol shows which side of the pump the nozzle should be on when you drive into the petrol station so it will be on the same side as your filler flap. So correct in the zed because you want to drive up to a pump that is orinated in the same way as the symbol so you can fill you into the zed flap which is on the left.
  18. when you say wrap do you mean in waxoil? could be a handy way of stopping brake line corrosion, a classic MOT fail and PITA job to replace the rear ones! Would of though the exhaust would get too hot to accept the waxoil without burning it off.
  19. that is not what it is saying. The symbol/icon shows the pump and which side the nozzle is on for your petrol filler cap. So it is correct on the zed. I wonder if it is true for all cars???
  20. .....and people look at you like you have just landed on the moon when you pull up to the free pump and just pull the hose over the roof or boot!
  21. if you want it done properly and are willing to take a trip to do so these guys have come highly recommended http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/
  22. yeah mate i saw you too. I thought you went eastbound on the A40 in the mornings. Traffic was hell this morning. yeah i have a UK spec.
  23. thanks John. subscription has lapsed so cant PM. had a look up there this afternoon but could see anything. My email address is tom.ventham@mwkl.co.uk email me if you can and i can send you my number. Ta again. Tom
  24. yeah trouble is they are working again now so dont know if that would of caused the prob happening in the future.
