Hello,

a freind of mine who owns a garage recommends that I get a treatment of waxoil done on the underneath of the car. He is offering to do it for free for me (or probably giving me the tools and gunk and saying do it yourself... ;) )

What are peoples thoughts on this? Anyone have it done?

Dam Good Stuff, stops the tin worm progressing and prevents any new out breaks.

I did all 3 of my cars last month, using the spray cans. Messy job but worth it if your going to keep the car for any length of time.

Obviously the car will be up in the air when you spray it on, so if you can, wrap the exhaust, fuel lines and brake lines. Waxoil is brill for covering things up and protecting the underneath of your motor, but is a pain in the arse to remove.

when you say wrap do you mean in waxoil? could be a handy way of stopping brake line corrosion, a classic MOT fail and PITA job to replace the rear ones! Would of though the exhaust would get too hot to accept the waxoil without burning it off.

Noooo! He means wrap em up first so as not to get covered in waxoil or you`ll create a potential flammable risk.Well worth doing inside and out!

its always an ongoing controversial topic but my advice is to use dinitrol :D

i use it on aircraft as specified by the manaufacturers, boeing and airbus. the mod use it on all vehicles which have to withstand immersion in salt water etc (and very rarely do you see a rotten military vehicle!)
