I find my wipers to me pretty substandard but dont know when they were last changed. My girlfriend has these on her new polo (curl up like an old sandwich when you lift them off the screen) and they seem to be pretty effective but different windscreen shape and newer and newer blades and not having to cope with the same speed as the zed. Thoughts?

yeah that was well harsh for them to do that to her. Half of old people are going to be overweight because your body accumulates heavey fluid that it cant get rid of and you can have alot of internal excess tissue that is natural accumulation and there is nothing and old body system can do about it. older people also have thickening of the skin which is extra weight. She could have even had metal hip replacements etc which would of caused her to be heavier and make her "overweight" She is probably going to go home and start dieting like mad and exercising and give her self a heart attack or cause some sort of digetive system disease to form because her body is not used to the new diet after 70 years or send her blood pressure completely the other way and cause other diseases to develop. BMI is such a rough science as it basically divides weight by height and take into account the different percentages of body tissue that make up your wieght (muscle, fat, bone mass, skin etc). But Jamie didnt talk about that or explain it to the old love! Still the big guy next to her put his arm round her and seemed like a nice geez which was a pretty touching moment!

i watched part of the program and what annoyed me wasnt so much the content but the way it was presented.... Firstly, I am pretty sure before the program was shot they got someone in to warm up the audience and participents like they would do for any sitcom or comedy panel game but not for serious factual shows like Question Time that this was purposing to be . This falsely made the participents seem that they were all flipant and not bothered about what they eat. Then I must of heard Jaime use the S word about 4 times in the first half hour as a cheap and crude way to dramatise it. Another thing that annoyed me which probably isnt part of the programs fault is the disection guy wearing that ridiculous hat when doing a disection. Does his really think that coroners and disectioners wear that sort of thing in real life??? it is all part of building his image and less about the content of his output. Why would they film it in that spooky, industrial minimalist set if they werent purposely sensationalising it. That are plenty more things i noticed but people will always say he is just trying to get the message accross in the most effective way and if it helps it get through to one person it will be worth it. I dont find that acceptable and dont why they believe the general public to be so pig ignorant to think that we wouldnt take note of health and lifestyle advice unless is was wrapped up in this striking and overly dramatised way. It is the same with all those adverts on TV that scare the Sh1t out of me (i know that is the idea of them but i am saying it shouldnt be that way) for drink driving, feeling braver when you drink and falling over buildings and hearing the spine crack, etc etc there are millions of them on TV there to shock us in the name of public information but it can really disturb for no reason. What makes them think that this has more effect than giving people the information they need in a simple and sensible manner. Just one of the things that annoys me about how society is being manipulated to keep it in fear.

i get the lighter rotating part reducing the losses of the rotataion energy thus letting more power flow from the engine to the wheels and the diameter of the pulley thing but i dont get what the actual "under"drive part means and what its benefit is? Also if the pulley is spining at a different rate are other things affects that is runs off, i am thinking mostly about the valve timing but also the tolerances of the alternator, A/C bearings and pulleys etc. And i am also assume these pulleys are also stronger because if they are lighter and spinning fast the material would have to cope with alot more strain. How can the OD pulley be fitted? Is it a whole different type of water pump or can you simply just change the water pump cog for a larger one? Is it necersary to do this is you believe your cooling system to be up to the extra power increase through upratred rad, water wetter, etc????

try interparcel.com you wont belive the prices compared to the main firms even though it is them that carries the parcels. Some people also say parel2go.com is cheaper but i have never found that to be the case, espeacilly for big items.

i am get my cambelt changed and seen lots of times when people have changed their pulley for a UD one but i cant really find anywhere where it is explained what it does (apart from you loosen your belts to tighten them afterwards!). Can someone explain to me what a UD pulley is and how it works how the theory of it gaining bhp works out. What are the down points or problems with them because there seem to be some dissenting voices in the ranks. I have noticed it never mentions UD pulley in the insurance mod list so is it sounds like a rare bhp increase without being hit for it with the insurance.

I will be printing this out and have a play with the setup tonight ready to watch A Fistful of Dollars which i have just finished downloading!! Do you know much on the audio side? At the moment i just plug in a lead into the headphone jack in the laptop that connect to my home cinema amp (Sony STR-DE475) via L+R RCA but it means i only have the standard 2 channel sound. Is there a way to get the dolby digital sound to the amp or some way to transmit the audio so it can be played in surround sound? there is no optical port on the laptop so i am not too hopefully but is there a way to maximise the sound quality from a laptop to amp without a digital port in the laptop.

really? i thought VGA is more or less the equal to HDMI, it is with xbox360 and PS3. Not really looking to spend alot of money to do it because the quality is good anyway i just imagined there could be a few tweeks that you could make to have a glorious picture.

i have (legally) downloaded some films recently and they are all dvd rips of good quality and large file size. To play them i connect my laptop to my LCD HDTV through a VGA cable which is able to produce pretty high resolution. Does anyone know some simple steps to maximise the quality of these movies played on the TV you cant change the file size so are there programs you can use that improve it? I play them through windows media player and have ffdshow audio and video and Haali media splitter that fire up when a i play a movie which might be doing something but i havent had a play with the settings as they look beyond me.

I wont bother you too much more with questions as i was only ever looking to see if this would be possible, but: 1. what is a bulk head and how does it help the head room? 2. what are the steels or trimmers that you mentioned would be needed to extend the bathroom? 3. i guess this would be sold wall to the right of the bathroom. I am guess you check if it is weight bearing from the attic by seeing if there is a beam resting accross it or along it??? does transfering the weight involve adjusting the setup of the beams in the attic/roof so this weight can be held elsewhere?

be good to have some info on what you did if you have time Mark. I noticed when i was messing with the washer jet motors that the washer bottle block the path of air and there is no gaps in the wheel arch liner to let the air flow through the intercooler (and also, beneficially, pass by the brakes and cool them). Im not sure i could think where the washer bottle could be relocated but i was thinking about butchering the wheel arch liners but then i thought there might be little gain with the washer bottle in the way and all that area will get covered in muck with gaps in the wheel arch liner which will make the air flow even worse. How did you get round this Mark? What is it like on the other side? not looked their yet but would want a balance to have the same conditions on both sides.

yeah it is which is why not many places in the UK seem to do it. Any monkey can do a simple refurb on wheels. There is another place i found in Leictershire but they were very unhelpful when i phoned them up. if you look at the scottish place website you can see all the stages of the repair and it shows they have all the big kit and expertise to do it. My wheels are lightweight Italian racing alloy which required alot of zinc in the weld to stick properly. Very professional job because it is impossible to see where the repair was made now. My tip would be to remove all the centre caps, spigot rings, badges or whatever before you send it because they need to strip them completely to work and those sort of things can get lost in a garage full of other wheels.

many thanks mate that is a great starting point for me. i a pretty sure that would be my hallway as it is not used by other but is something to double check. the other thing that was concerning me about the build would be securing the new floor at either end. the wall to the right is obvious joined to the neighbours could they stop me digging into that? the wall to the left where the bathroom is im not sure is solid to the floor as it is wood clad at the moment. I guess a brick structure would exist there to support the bathroom and flooring about but would it need to be strengthened if it was to bear the extra weight of the extension?
