Or sell up after 16 years of ownership....... now weighing up my options..... If I can't find a low mileage working NA Auto box for the right price.... a good recon unit or even a brand new Auto Transmission..... I may consider cutting my losses! I can't keep throwing money and time at her and getting nowhere.... It has now been 2 years since my last outing without the transmission failing! If she sits unused for too long then she will just rot on my driveway again. So I need to make up my mind if my heart is still in it... Thanks to Dave (Tomomontana) and Chris (Chrisbasildon) for your help above and beyond to get me to Beaulieu..... I really appreciate it...

Well tried to drive the newly MOT'd Z to our B&B today......... Got to Lakeside turnoff on the A13 and lost all drive....... Low loader home taking 3 hours including waiting...... Kids upset, wife telling me to sell the Z......... Not a good day!! Sorry will not be able to go....... If anyone wants my tickets for 2 adults and 2 children?????????

Hi all....... Unfortunately I will be unable to join you now as my ABS sensor has failed on the N/S when I removed it to rebuild the suspension...... So No MOT...... I am gutted....... Paid for B&B and tickets for event as well...... Russ

lol..... that reminds me of a few months ago when my 4 year old decided to help me by cleaning the side of my Z with some 600 grit sandpaper...... Drivers side rear quarter panel... now bares his mark!!

I had a day out today with my sons at Great Notley country park and spending quality time together...... I got a set of Thule aero roof bars for the Audi, my Sandblaster, a camping seat and a rechargeable camping lamp...... I also got £70 towards the Z fund...... so that was a good start.... lol Just need another £3430 to get her sprayed....... lol Tonight is cinema to watch the new Bourne film....... so should be a good night.... lol My best present is one I bought myself..... Jeez Lee my OE suspension that was 24 years old had less corrosion....... How long have they been on the car?

I did..... Was a royal 'PITA'..... measured out a piece big enough and then folded in half. Removed half the backing paper and started from the middle of boot window working downward. Then worked from middle to edge of boot lid lifting and repositioning when required.... I can still see the areas where the paint was missing from boot lid, but at least it will keep water off for a few months till respray.... I have got one problem area on O/S rear corner where it has decided to crinkle up.... think I over stretched it a bit or not enough in other area's..... going to use hairdryer when I get a chance.... I cut out the window area after fitting......

Also received the parts I have been waiting for from CZP.... just too late to fit them before the MOT or Beaulieu...... New front and rear shock absorber boots and bump stops, brake calliper pins, suspension nuts + Eccentric bolts and washers Thanks to Stephen sending me his spare Eccentric bolt I managed to clean that up and use my old washer..... So shall be sending it back all clean to him for a spare when I fit these new ones....:thumbup:

I did all 4 corners and both ABS nipples before the hard pipe split...... after I replaced the pipe I have done it once..... but going to remove the wheels yet again and re-bleed it all again tomorrow.... I wonder where the air is hiding?..... I might retry the abs ones again tonight..... EDIT:-........ I am a bloody idiot....... just realised I bled all 4 corners with speed bleeders installed..... But bled the abs unit as if I had fitted them there as well...... So been sucking in air..... Hi Stephen, no was a fair amount still in the reservoir..... refilled from about 1/4 of the way down.... fitted new pipe and bled okay.... Pedal only went to the floor after starting the engine.... even now with engine off it is hard and works..... soon as you start her it is literally on the floor....

Well today I broke the O/S/R calliper hard pipe...... must have cracked it refitting.... brake fluid all over the driveway when I pressed the brake pedal with engine running.... So No MOT today! I made up a replacement one and fitted it...... but now brake pedal goes to the floor and feels spongey..... something not right.... No air in system after re-bleeding system..... but still feels worse than before the new fluid and hoses...... I don't think I will be making beaulieu after all.......

Thanks Joel.... Looks like today is D-Day then........ if the transmission doesn't work then I will have to cancel........ just hoping to warm her up and set fluid at correct level........ I have today, Thursday, Friday to get her finished, MOT'd and running properly.......

I am still hoping to be in the Z........ but....... if she fails the MOT or the transmission goes again........ will be parking the Audi outside and walking in hopefully...... If they allow us to use the entry tickets we bought months ago??
