  1. As I am SHORT...... Thank you JaiKai for reminding me...... I stripped, treated any surface rust and repainted the Front upper control arm, mounting bracket and shock absorber today. Yesterday I stripped the front and rear hubs, wire brushed them and painted them with aluminium coloured spray. I stripped the brake disc backing plates, rust treated them and repainted them in 4 coats of satin black HT paint. I have also painted the vented section and the middle of the front brake disc in satin black VHT paint to keep off the rust for a while. Before....
  2. Repair panel now cut and ready for welding in place..... Tomorrow morning I shall be double checking the plate, cutting as much rust out as needed, treating the inside of the sill...... and hopefully tacking the plate in place....

  5. I drove to Bury to pick up an NA bottom end for my spare engine build over winter, dropped it into the boot of my A4 saloon, broke the floor....... opppsss..... It was a very tight fit....... Got home and now waiting for a friend to help me shoe horn it out again...... lol Now all I need is somewhere to put it that is dry and accessible........

Sorry Richie......... have been going in to work at 6am early to get on with my suspension refurb during the working day, then home and into my workshop with wire brush, media blaster, rust preventative and then paint..... getting about 5 hours sleep a day at most now trying to get the Z ready for Beaulieu...... Done a 14 hour day today with no time to do any Z work..... It was the school summer fair this afternoon.... Sent you a PM with my details........

  8. I did my apprenticeship at Ford Dagenham, working on the Mk1, Mk2, GT40 and RS200 in the heritage centre there..... I was 17 and didn't appreciate what I was allowed to work on...

  18. I fitted a new one that sticks out of the bottom as per OEM placement..... I will cut out a bigger section as it is rusty upward of the hole to see how bad it is tomorrow after I remove all of the suspension and braking for refurb..... If it isn't too bad I am going to clean it out, wire brush it, rust killer painted on and then zinc primer it all....... I need to make a new panel now..... lol
