  1. Anyone got pics of what lies under the rear spoiler on a tt, I recently got a high spoiler with a centre brake light from a local scrappie. I have seen pics on here somewhere but cant find them after doing a few searches. Cheers John Crisp
  2. John Lol.....my mrs wondered what the noise was from a scooby that flew past us on the motorway at full pelt....i was like...ffs thats the exhaust ...what else is it gonna be...but i said mine would sound like that when its done.....she just made the usual womanly uninterested pain in the arse face at me and went back to sleep.......but when my exhaust is done.....i have a minister living next door to me....so at 6am i will need to be quiet when i go to work........not.....woohoooooooooooo....lol Cheers John Crisp
  3. Cheers John I was thinkin of getting like a funnel into the silencer so there wasnt like any build up at the silencer....i am not building the exhaust purely for performance reasons....i got all the piping for nothing with welded bends etc so a mate at work is gonna tig weld it for me hopefully making a cheap system as my finances are kinda f***** just now, i'd like to spend loads no my car but the Mrs gives me enough shit about it. Cheers John Crisp
  4. John The pipes from the cats are gonna be 3.5 inch diameter....the 2 inches i mentioned is the diameter of the hole through the silencer. Cheers John Crisp
  5. The silencer I had made is 2 inch straight through...so i guess its gonna be kinda noisey......poor neighbours at 6 am when i go to work. Cheers John Crisp
  6. OOPS 16 inch by 6 inch silencer. John Crisp
  7. I have a 16 inch by 4 inch silencer in my boot......5 inch rooled outwards tailpipe......hopefully soon gonna be a single exit TT.......3.5 inch pipe going to the silencer from the cats that are gonna be gutted also........80 quid silencer custom made.....30 quid for the tailpipe. Also most guys building custom systems love cash....no VAT...saving you some money. 2p's worth from me...cheers John cRISP
  8. I recently fitted Nismo Upeer link bushes to both front upper links on my 300. I was messing about with the tyres/wheels at the weekend and found the bushes on the inside of the drivers side link can be moved from left/right about 3 mm. Surely this cant be right...I cant feel sideways movement but i thought they would stay quite rigid during their lifetime. Anyone else noticed this. Cheers John Crisp

Gordon, my Mrs is giving me so much grief about my Zed as she typically see's a woman's point of view and doesnt understand why men love expensive cars. She even said if i sold my zed and cleared the loan i had and bought a banger to get me to work she could get a newer Zsara Picasso (she has an x-plate just now) ....i just made the noise like the guys in chewing the fat....f*****g good one from her. Anyway i hope to make some of the meets like Crail or Ingleston, times and dates anyone so i can get all my jobs done in time on my 300. Cheers John Crisp
  11. Wow small world Alan, in the same trade..no worries if i can help give me a shout. Cheers John
  12. Mine had similar mis fire...then started cutting out when warm......i messed about with it for a week....had a situation when it wouldnt fire at all...i left it for 2 days...turned the key and away it went ..started no problem. I bought a new PTU from Courtesy in USA and so far all has been fine.....smoother tickover and even better fuel consumption. HTH John Crisp
  13. Hows it going.....slowly but surely there are more scots 300's on here.....where in scotland are you, i'm in Barrhead. Anyway sounds like you are gonna be havin fun working on your 300, I am an HGV mechanic to trade and I hate working on cars but I do all my own work on my 300 but they are a nightmare to work on..but thats life. Geeza shout if u need a workshop manual as I have one on CD. Cheers John Crisp

Scott I have a few jobs to get done on my car which I will need to take time off work to get them all done, but I will try and make it. Cheers John Crisp
  15. John I replaced my front upper link bushes on both sides of my car, i was getting a creaking noise from my suspension occasionally but there is a big difference with my steering now i did the bushes....the n/s ones were well worn with a lot of lift in them. Here is the link for Middlehurst.. http://www.middlehurst.co.uk/. The bushes are 16 quid each...4 inner 4 outer. From Courtesy the same Nismo bushes are 21 dollars each...quite a saving. HTH John Crisp
  16. 165 quid delivered to my door for the full set (8bushes) on tuesday in scotland when i ordered them on saturday.....good service i think from middlehurst. HTH John Crisp
  17. Yeah the exchange rate is good at the moment...thats why i went to courtesy. as for the PTU it fits no problem and has sorted all the cutting out/rough running problems i have had with my 300. Cheers John Crisp
  18. I recently fitted a new PTU to my 300. The harness supplied with the PTU has 4 plugs....2 that go into the PTU and 2 that plug into the origional PTU plugs. HTH John Crisp
  19. Cheers guys.....i guess its back to the drawing board........john c
  20. Cully my 300 is UK but i got a blank nissan key from MJP and got it cut at my local key shop for 2 quid. The origional key i had with the car was titanium one i think(silver kinda trendy looking key if that makes sense) but i wanted another key anyway. I wouldnt think there is a problem getting a key cut but with cars who knows mate. HTH John Crisp
  21. Anyone got any pics of a 300 TT with BK racing 299 wheels. Cheers John Crisp
  22. Are there any sites that I can see what my 300 looks like with different wheels aka Gran Turismo 3 in the wheel shop. Cheers John Crisp
  23. I had an intermittant misfire that developed just after i bought my car...then dissapeared....then reappeared. I did the usual checks like PTU connector, plugs, coil connectors , injector connectors etc..all appeared fine after cleaning corrosion off injector terminals ( i have had my car a year and a half). The misfire soon vanished and all was oki until oct last year when my car cut out when it was warm and wouldnt restart.....then it started.....3 times this happened going home from work...i even had the car running when i was messing around with it...left it for 10 mins and it wouldnt restart.......then checking injector wiring/plugs etc..still no start..i left the car for 2 days...turned the key and she burst into life. I bought a PTU from courtesy in usa....al been oki now since chrimbo apart from dodgy tickover when cold and hot which i suspect is my coolant sensor. I suspect the PTU failed due to me working locally and having many start/stops during the day as I go everywhere in my zed. HTH John Crisp
  24. John I priced the PTU in the UK from Nissan, even with a trade discount It was still much cheaper to import it from USA Nissan UK quoted me 290 quid nearly. From Courtesy the PTU was 180 dollars plus 39 dollars post which i got refunded (105 quid for the ptu, 30 quid post plus 36 quid import tax) so for me getting the ptu from Courtesy was worth it even more so when they ended up paying post. Maybee different with larger parts with more cost with a heavier parcel. Cheers John Crisp
