Brakes
Thanks for the reply ZEVANS....I was thinking I was on iggy for some strange reason or I guess more to the point its a stupid question but nowadays there is no 'rule of thumb' logic that cause a car has ABS is wont have like a load sensing valve for brakes too. I think I have found the cause of my shudder ......my tracking is miles out and when the car is switched off.....the brake pressed well hard and the steering rocked...a clunk is coming from the steering rack on the drivers side......hopefully an end to the dreaded brake shudder i have above 30 mph. Cheers Again mate....John Crisp

Brakes
Does the 300 have any form of load sensing valve to cut the brake pressure to the rear while the car only has one occupant in it and increases brake pressure when 2 occupants and 2 smaller occupants are in the rear.....when i go for a run my front brake discs are quite hot but the back ones can be touched no problem. Gran Turismo 3
I have done all the Beginner/Amateur races, I have all 6 licences but mainly in bronze or silver, I aint never done any of the endurance races yet. The Pikes Peak is a bit of a handful but very fast, I actually used it to build up my credits for the Panoz only to find it crap, I prefer the Racing Zonda for the professional races. The reason I am doing the Time Attack races is for the Challenge and I am going to complete it by hook or by crook, just now I havent been near my (kids) PS2 for over a week as I find when I play it all the time (when my kids let me that is) , A break from the game does wonders for me as it gives the brain a rest . Anyway thats my 2p's worth. Cheers for the reply's guys........John Crisp

Exhausts
Ha ha gr8 minds think alike as regards neighbours Kirbz. The system I want is like only having one silencer with like a 'Y' pipe making the 2 systems go into one outlet but yours looks good too Kirbz. Anyone got a single silencer system on their car, if so any pics appreciated. Cheers John Crisp

OOPS I forgot to say Willie.....what a difference wheels and an agresssive looking exhaust makes to the 300. Cheers John Crisp

Exhausts
Willie The sections I have are mainly bends with a straight section as well. My mate says he could make a 'Y' pipe to link the 2 systems together no probs with the pipes I have and only the silencer would have to be purchased. Is your car noisey just now with the large bore tails as I wasnt planning on removing the cats. Does anyone have any pics of a single outlet system on a 300 that i can use as reference. Cheers John Crisp

Exhausts
Anyone ever attempted to make up of have mad up a stainless exhaust. I have 4.5 inch bore pipes that i was hoping to weld together to make a 1 Outlet System by joining the 2 pipes after the cats. Anyone purchased a back box and made an exhaust? I think the single outlet system would look very aggressive on the back of a 300 but I guess with a 4 inch outlet or bigger it would be rather noisey....anyway f*** the neighbours I dont care about the noise at 6am when i go to work.... I want my big bore exhaust. Cheers John Crisp

Anyway enough of the moaning... Cheers Guys'n'Gals John Crisp

Dave if u carry out a search on the forum on rear wheel bearings, i recently posted part numbers for the rear bearings from a motor factor. The bearing cost me £80 roughly i never went near nissan for a price, the the one i got was an SKF bearing so it want crap. I seem to have lost the invoice for the part number. HTH John Crisp

steering/brakes
Cheers Guys The juddering i get is deffo steering...the wheel shakes quite violently but i was thinking that maybee the front brakes are doing most of the braking with the back not doing enough. I think i'll get a set of back pads and see if there is a difference and tonight i am gonna re torque the front wheelbearings to see if that makes a difference. I think the fault is being exagerated more bye the fact that my tracking is obviously out. Feckin zeds...i am beginning to really hate mine....till i drive it and all the things wrong go out the window (till i brake). Cheers Again......John crisp

steering/brakes
Poly bushes are whats fitted to the tension rods, and the steering rack but not the mount onto the x-member to wishbone bush. Simmo, passenger wheel bearing replaced maybee 500 miles ago, i think i'll try torquing the nut again in case its came loose. Cheers guys

transmission mount & centre bearing
John, I have a vibration that i can feel on my legs at the edge of the seat when driving and when i looked along the prop it looked like the rubber on the centre bearing was 'under weight' and like all depressed at the bottom part of the rubber. Also i have a rumbling noise at above 30 mph that has been on the car since i bought it. My point is can the rear mount be easily viewed to see where it has failed as i have looked at it but cant see anything wrong. Cheers John crisp

steering/brakes
Alright Guys. My Z is doing my head in...basically i have a brake shudder above 40 mph that is really bad, below that speed there is no shudder whatsoever, no feeling of warped discs from the brake pedal, the only thing I have replaced is the pads recently. OK Steering now, my inner sides of the front tyres are worn to near the legal limit, and when I look at the car wheels it really looks like the tracking is miles towing out so this would add up to the tyre wear, I have replaced the front tension rod bushes/steering rack bushes with the Energy Suspension bushes, but i havent replaced the bottom wishbone bush with a poly one. Is it possible that the tracking being miles out and the 225 wide front tyres, and maybee the fact i still have origional wishbone bushes maybee the vibration at higher speed is from these 2 points or am i waffling on for feck all. Anyone any input ....cheers John Crisp

steering rack bushes
Sorry Simmo i just seen your post there......i left the car on the deck, no need to jack it up or support anything. Cheers John Crisp
-
steering rack bushes
No Simmo no need to lift the engine up but I did loosen the steering column shaft bolt into the universal joint to give the rack a bit more height but it will only life up maybee half an inch, I cut a plate of metal and put a bolt/nut in the hole and levered the bush into place with a screwdriver. 2 hours was maybee a long estimate but cause i'm tall I had to keep coming out the pit to stretch as my knees were feckin sore but maybee if i did it again 60 to 90 minutes is maybee a closer time to do the job. Cheers John Crisp

steering rack bushes
Ha Ha yeah that might help Simmo 2 hours to replace the bushes , LH easy ..RH more akward but plenty soap does help loads and also watch the wires at the inside of the RH bracket where the bracket bends 90 degrees as they might be damaged when tightening the bracket over the rack. All in all a bit of a nightmare but worth it as i feel the difference in the steering on the car. Hope this helps someone. Cheers John Crisp
