  1. Andy......are there any diagnostics that can be done to check the voltage etc at the coils or is it a case of buying one and trying it.....300's are like hens teeth round about me so thewre is no chance of trying one from another car. Cheers John Crisp
  2. I went to start my 300 20 mins ago and guess what...it kicked then just turns over and wont f****** start. I am thorougly pissed off with the car now. I have had an intermittant mis from the engine.....sometimes its smooth as a dye other times very lumpy with a definate miss. I have only done 50 miles in the last few weeks in the car and there is just below quarter tank of fuel in it......any ideas guys....i was gonna get ma timing belt/cam seals done today but not thats out the window..... Any help much appreciated Cheers John Crisp
  3. John Do u not have a manual to look and see how to do it, they aint dear to buy and work in cd form with Acrobat Reader. HTH John Crisp
  4. Stuart, Insurance Companies are a nightmare even more so with a car like a 300. I renewed my insurance at the start of November last year and declared my 3 points for an SP30 I got on Christmas 2001 thinking it wouldnt cost me any more. 90 quid later and a lot more earache from the wife for the premium jump but hey what do u do. I know insurance companies will try to get out of paying out in the event of a claim so thats why I was honest. I use AON Insurance Co who premium wise have been good but I have never claimed them so I cant tell of my experiences down that road. Anyways they have u by the short and curlies either way. Just my 2p's worth. Cheers John Crisp
  5. OOPS I forgot to ask, Whats the difference in the Skyline or GTI'R package, is it just in the software or are their different interfaces required too. Cheers John Crisp
  6. Cheers Danny I think there is a lot of intrest here for the tool, I am gonna sell some tools i got that i dont use to hopefully get the funds together as I think it would be better to own rather than hire the tool for a while. Cheers Again Danny
  7. Harve are u looking for a genuine bearing as my mate got me a front one from a motor factor and cost me 35 quid, i'd bet Nissan charge a fortune, i'll check anyway what the price would be for the back one and get back to u tomorrow with a price etc if it helps. Cheers John Crisp
  8. Does anyone know if the ConZult only can be used on the 300 or does it work on any Nissan like Skylines etc. Cheers John Crisp
  9. Cheers Guys For The Replies Its the old story when u put a car into a dealer, expectations very high but the end product very poor. I am not in a position just now to purchase the tool but its on my list for the future. Cheers John Crisp
  10. Happy New Year everyone. I was wondering how good the ConZult Diagnostic tool was. Does anyone have much experience with it and if so is it any good. Cheers John Crisp
  11. For me to have a car like a 300, my own opinion is that most garages will see pound signs when you arrive for them to work on your car. Most dealers have a reputation of quality on the surface, good image and all that crap but underneath give a poor service well below the standards expected. Everybody has good and bad experiences with garages whether it be main dealer or small fry. I work in a main dealer (all be it commercial vehicles) and daily see the things that go on whereby customers get shafted, things get covered up, forgotten to be tightened, all the usual so to be honest i would attempt anything on my 300 b4 putting it in a garage, especially a main dealer. Have replaced n/s/f wheelbearing, Removed inlet manifold thinking it was rocker cover gskts leaking oil but it wasnt, Am gonna be doing timing belt/camshaft seals soon:D Tools are a big problem though, i am lucky to have access to a press, pits etc, but it is still a daunting car to work on especially engine wise.. Just my 2p's worth John Crisp 300 ZX TT UK
  12. BARRY I HAD THE INLET MANIFOLD OFF MY CAR AND I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE TOP OF THE ENGINE WITH THE BONNET UP , I COULD MAIL IT TO U IF ITS OF USE TO U. CHEERS JOHN CRISP

  14. Anyone got the phone number for the Z- Centre. Cheers John Crisp
  15. Hello Andy Did U get my e-mail as I am also having pc problems. Cheers mate John Crisp
  16. hello winnie i just bought a belt from the local Nissan garage, I think it was 45 quid plus VAT. Ihave been told its 4 and a half hours book time but i cant say about the dealers labour rates etc as i wouldnt touch them with a bargepole. Some of the guys on here buy parts from http://www.courtesy.com in america as well. Hope this helps John Crisp
  17. Cheers Andy u have some mail mate. Are there any diagnostics like checking resistances of the PTU or am i better waiting for a manual to go down that road.... Thanks guys for the reply's......TLC needed for my 300.. I have lots to go on, i just need some time to pull it to bits now. Cheers John Crisp
  18. thanks guys, my car had the mis fire just after i bought it i removed the plugs to check them and they are fine, it cleared after i ran the car for a while, now it had returned to misfiring. I have been told b4 about the throttle bodies so i think i need to look at them Gio and clean them out. The PTU is on the drivers side James, right.......what is the other thing on the passenger side with 4 wires in it driven off a camshaft and when i push the wires in the engine note changes, maybee just a coincidence. Vijay could u tell me where the coil pack connectors are (are they on top of the plugs.....i am a diesel mechanic and a bit thick at car designations of components hehe).. Cheers again guys John Crisp
  19. My 300 now has a mis-fire. It is only really apparent at tickover and lower revs, I have noticed that when the 2 connectors on the thingymaboppers on the front casing (PTU 's i think but am not sure) are moved around the engine note changes but the mis is still there. The plugs are new 5000 miles ago , there is no smoke even when doing 35-40 mph , i dont go any faster as i still have an oil leak to fix. Any ideas guys , i think its electric but i dont have a ,manual yet. Cheers John Crisp
  20. Well I think its a rip-off some of the quotes that ya get for insurance but there are good quotes out there but maybee with out some of the benefits like courtesy cars etc. I just look for the cheapest quote but I think to be honest the only way to find out if your insurance company is any good is to actually make a claim and see how they handle it. To be honest though no wonder the premiums are going through the roof with the usual when u take a car to a bodyshop, are u paying or are the insurance paying, two different quotes. I declared my points to the insurance company as I know for a fact they will try to get out of settling a claim if they find u have undeclared points on yer licence....Sods law I think....they have u by the short and curlies either way. Cheers John Crisp
  21. How do u guys get good quotes from Direct Line and the likes of Tesco's. They gave me silly quotes of nearly a grand for my 300. I am 35 yrs old, full NCB protected for maybee 8 years I think, my car is in a locked garage overnight with a CAT 1, 6000 miles a year and I have declared 3 points on an SP30. My wife is on the policy too but she never drives it, as I say the best for me is just over 500 quid this year, the closest for me was Bell Direct at 580 i think. Oops the car is standard too. Cheers John Crisp
  22. AON were good for quotes for me when i had my imported GT4 and were good when i changed over to the UK TT i have now but i was a trumpet and told them about the SP30 i got last christmas and it jumped 90 quid to 510 quid...and the wife opened my schedule and seen how much i pay ...........300 gettin sold...not a chance hehe the mrs goes first:D but AON have a special deal for imports. The phone number for them is 01384 552 670 , i think they are online too but i like to phone to make sure all thedetails are ok. HTH John Crisp
  23. Cheers Guys matter is in hand.:D
  24. Anyone ever bought the CD rom advertised in Courtesy Parts in the USA. I think its well worth 70 Dollars but has anyone ever bought it, are there that many differences in the USA 300's to make it not a worthwhile purchase or are there any places over here to get a copy of the CD. Cheers John Crisp
  25. Cheers Andy The belt has been done b4 but i dont know when. I have some history from the previous owner from about 60 k miles, it has nearly 70 k on it now but the belt isnt mentioned in the bills. I am sometimes getting a burning smell from the pass side of the engine from around the gap at the back of the enging though i ythink its the oil burning from the leak.I think i'll price the kit u mentioned. Cheers Again Andy........John Crisp
