  1. Hello Jeff Sorry i cant help about the springs but could u please give me some advice regarding the cam seals. My 93 UKtt has an oil leak dripping on top of the A/C pump from what looks like the top corner of the engine. I thought it was the rocker cover so i re-sealed it afet removing hte manifold but it still leaks. The leak isnt bad but I an not sure where its coming from. Would the cam seal cause this leak. There isnt a lot of oil inside the cam cover, but when i put my hand up behind the cam cover and feel the back of the plate the cam cover it is wet and thats where the oil is running down from. I have only recently bought the car and it wasnt leaking when i bought it. Would the cam seal leak externally or am i barking up the wrong tree. Hope u can help me.. cheers John Crisp
  2. Anyone ever done fron cam seals on their TT, would the oil leak inside the cam cover or outside it. Cheers John Crisp
  3. cheers timmy, I think I am gonna have to remove the a/cond pump for better access to see exactly where the oil is coming from. Theree isnt a lot of oil inside the cam cover thats why i thought it was the rocker cover. Cheers Again John Crisp
  4. I recently removed my inlet manifold to access the passenger side rocker cover. All rebuilt now the oil is still dripping onto the a/cond pump. It appears only to leak when cold making me think its a brittle cam seal, heat softening the seal with the engine running. Anyone ever experienced this b4. Any help appreciated.. Cheers John Crisp
  5. I used AON insurance co, they usually have a full page advert in Japanese Performance magazine, my renewal is 420 in Glasgow near Beiruit haha.My car is a UK TT but they quoted me more for an import when i started looking for my car. Their number is 01384552670. Hope this helps John Crisp
  6. Cheers Devil Is there not a gasket inbelow the cover as i can see instant gasket sticking out of the housing.
  7. Is anyone selling workshop manuals for the 300 or is there anywhere i can get them , firstly at a reasonable price and hopefully quickly. Cheers John Crisp
  8. Wohhoooo I finally got the inlet manifold off to get to the housings below to try and see where my oil leak is. Can anyone tell me what the housing is like a rocker cover right about the turbo, that has 8 6mm (10mm spanner size), I didnt have time to get it off today as 2 oh the bolts are akward to access and Asda awaited me with the wife so i had to abandon my pride and joy. The housing i am talking about is like a rocker cover or maybee it is? Anyone help me. Cheers John Crisp
  9. yeah access is a bit limited to the pipes but tomorrow i will go into work and finish removing it, then the rebuild haha..thats when the fun really starts. Do u know if Nissan do the gaskets seperate or is it a full kit and the other parts u mentioned are they expensive. Cheers
  10. cheers for the reply.. I am not 100% sure of the component layout but the leak looks like from around a rocker cover. It can be seen with the 2 intercooler pipes removed from the passenger side and look in below the manifold. It isnt a bad leak but after the car has been running for a while the oil must be going onto the exhaust/turbo as it starts to burn and smoke a bit but i want to repair it. Are there any sneaky bolts as i have removed the 8 on top and can see 4 at either side. What about the two pipes on the bottom of the manifold they look a nightmare to get the 10mm head bolts. I am gonna try to get it off tomorrow afternoon after work, I work on commercial vehicles and they are a doddle compared to the Z, access is a nightmare. The only other thing is what are the small electrical components beside the spark plug coils...are they electronic injectors..as the connector terminals are all green corossion. I was gonna clean them all up upon removal of the manifold. Cheers again....John Crisp
  11. Anyone ever had the inlet manifold off their 300 TT. I have an oil leak below it and due to access to pipes under the manifold being restricted, am wondering if the engine will need to come out. Cheers John Crisp
  12. Anyone ever removed the inlet manifold on their 300. I have an oil leak from what looks like the rocker cover under the manifold on the passenger side. I have removed all the wires plugs pipes and bolts that i can see, the manifold moves slightly but wont come up. I was hoping to get the two pipes under the manifold when it was loose and lifted a bit but frustration got the better of me and I walked away b4 i lost it. Is the engine better removed or can it be done as i am doing it with the engine in place. I am not one for going to a garage but i maybee have to this time. Any replies will be welcome......cheers John Crisp
  13. Well the oil must be dripping on the air cond compressor then, it looks like a steering pump from underneath. The oil appears to be coming from behind the front cam cover at the back half or it. If I stick my hand inbetween the fan and the cover towards the gap above the air cond compressor and touch the back of the cam cover it is wet. Maybee the front cam seal is leaking. I am gonna pull the front cam cover off tomorrow night to see where the leak is. Cheers for the reply
  14. I have an oil leak on my 93 UK TT. The oil is dripping down onto the power steering pump from what looks like the back half of the front passenger side cam cover. Could anyone maybee verify this for me from their own personal experience of this problem. I have only recently bought my 300 and am close to throwing in the towel with the car. Any help appreciated. Cheers John Crisp
