  1. Can a windscreen washer pump not be used to back bleed the system from the slave cylinder bleed screw to the reservoir, I successfully use this method on hydraulic clutches on trucks/buses but it can be messy with fluid overflowing the reservoir, just lock up the bleed screw before removingthe pipe from the pump and also bleed the pump before starting to bleed the clutch as sometimes the pump wont lift the clutch fluid unless its bled. HTH John Crisp
  2. Dave the shocks are standards, nothing fancy and the car isnt lowered or anything like that......ride feels fine though. Cheers John
  3. I measured the movement in the link i removed last weekend.....new NISMO bushes fitted in Feb this year....only done 2k miles if even that. John
  4. Willie..the bushes move nearly 5mm from left to right and when basically driving...steering feels uncertain and not true, when hitting bumps i get a clunk. I have bought a 2nd hand link from JAP car breaker in Helen St Glasgow, took away most of the freeplay when it was fitted to the offside of the car but now I am back to where I was before i changed the offside link..unsure steering...checked last weekend....both links have play in them. HTH Cheers John
  5. Nobody had a spate of front upper links wearing out prematurely, I dont want to throw parts at the car like struts/springs but i might have to. Cheers John Crisp
  6. Cheque is in the post....sorry for the dalay in sending it. Cheers John Crisp
  7. My 300 is going through upper links like no one's business, at the start of the year i bought nismo replacement bushes...they are buggered...then i fitted 2 links from a scrappy...they are buggered now...all in 2 k miles...also tension rod bushes replaced and upper strut mounts replaced recently...cant fine any wear in the other bushes i aint replaced...any input welcome. Cheers John Crisp
  8. Go for it.....gotta be a TT.....nothing else will do. Take your time there are a few out there. Cheers John
  9. They will prob need to order the gaskets, I think they were like 8 quid each but cant remember as I have had my exhaust on the go for ages. Local Nissan here in Glasgow need to order everything for 300, they never have anything in stock...typical. Cheers John Crisp
  10. I just got a custom system fitted to my car...got the gaskets from local Nissan Dealer. Part number is 20692-1E810. What kinda system are you fitting, I got mine made into a single exit with a 5inch rolled outwards tail....sounds awsome when kicked but more of a deep drone than a Nova. hth cheers John Crisp
  11. Gotta be a TT, modifying cars increases insurance, with the extra power no need to mod it unless u really want to, my UK 300 TT costs me 500 a year, try and get a uk TT and i bet u kick the NA into touch, no offence intended with regards to an NA but a TT is a TT. Cheers John Crisp
  12. Where in Scotland are ya.....1991 300 zx tt for sale at 1st Choice Cars in Govan near Ibrox, 4k i think, auto, alloys, single exit exhaust. HTH John Crisp Glasgow
  13. In the diagram for front top strut mounts on a 300 TT 1993, there are 2 insulators listed, one with the 2 studs and the round one, my local NISSAN garage cant supply both parts, the insulator with the 2 studs is on back order, will i get away with changing the other insulator or is the insulator with the studs a wearing part. Cheers John Crisp
  14. Anyone sourced front top strut mounts from anywhere other than Nissan for a uk 300 tt 1993. Cheers John Crisp
  15. What sort of movement should be evident when the nut in the centre of the top front strut mounts are levered from side to side.....on my 300 I can move the nut freely......too freely I think. Am I right in saying even though the mount is rubber there should be next to no free movement. Cheers John Crisp
  16. Tony I had an intermittant missfire, then it would clear, then reappear...eventually my car cut out 3 times in the 6 miles from work....i messed about with it when it cut out trying all the things u mentioned...left it for 2 days turned the key and it started...i was like ffs wtf's going on here........bought a PTU from Courtesy USA and touch wood my 300 has been fine. HTH Cheers John Crisp
  17. Alex Mine has an errattic idle.....from cold start it runs at about 1500 rpm......then after running for like 1 or 2 mins...tickover at 750 rpm......then during the 6 mile run to work...most of the time either the car ticks over at 750 rpm all the time...or at between 750 and 1200 rpm......but after much messing about with temp sensors etc i think its my throttle potentiometer/position sensor on the rh side of the plenium as when i stop at work..lift the bonnet and hit the sensor before mentioned...the revs drop to 750. HTH (and makes sense)..........John Crisp
  18. Going back to basics and not trying to make anyone sound stupid....did u change the oil when u changed the turbo's origionally....contaminated oil would knock any warranty claim in the head. Cheers John Crisp

NP Scott As I say 40 quid for paint/hardner plus probably the special paint that goes on fibre glass before its painted. What about fitting your spoiler, do u need holes drilled or is it a straightforward fit, Also removing the old spoiler is a nightmare mate, I just did mine, there are the 4 holes on top also that will need taken care of........looks like a good idea to fit the high spoiler but i didnt realise the work involved. Cheers Scott...................John Crisp

Scott.. Might be able to help u there.....if the spoiler's prepared a mate at work could probably paint it for u, but u need to decide what u are gonna do to tidy up the tailgate whether its a fibreglass skin or the small perspex cover to hide the hole in the tailgate. If you are about this week give me a shout on 07906 009 460 if I can help I will. I got quoted 100 quid to get the 2nd hand spoiler I bought painted by a guy I know ffs, cost me 40 quid for paint and I have the spoiler nearly ready to be painted. Give me a shout either way if u like mate.....Cheers John Crisp

I am currently with AON Ins Company, I have 3 points, FNCD, UK 300tt, G78(Beuriut )postcode, cat 1, garaged overnight, limited miles 5k a year....520 quid.....but i am gonna be putting a stainless exhaust on the car....Houghtons Ins Co through 300.co .uk quoted me 500 so my renewal will prob be with Houghtons in November. I will look for the numbers and post them on if it helps... Cheers John Crisp
  23. Cheers Mark the spoiler I got has a high level brake light in it too. Thanks again....John Crisp
  24. Yeah Scoops I guess it would but I was hoping it could be identified without the pic, it isnt as high as I have seen on some 300's, just more than 1 foot high. Cheers for the reply.....John
  25. I got a bargain from a local scrapyard for a high lever reap spoiler, out of curiosity i was wondering if anyone could identify it from the sticker thats on the left side of the spoiler where it would be bolted to the tailgate. It reads as follows: 90-96 300ZX 2 DR MIDWING 591344L M 1 Cheers John Crisp
