  1. What's weird and freaky about Adelaide? I spent a month travelling around Oz and thought Adelaide was the town I would like to live if I emigrated down there.
  2. Glad you like the idea, but be sure to read post #13
  3.:rofl: I've been to one or two of those:rofl::rofl:
  4. Whoops.............I'm sorry, I really didn't mean that comment personally.:headvswal
  5. I don't envisage this as an 'open' meet providing a general 'learning facility' with dozens of members milling around just looking at what is being done. The intention is for members, who do not have the knowledge to carry out a specific job that needs doing on their Zed, but do have the general electro/mechanical abilities required, to carry out the job themselves using their own tools and parts under the GUIDANCE of someone qualified to advise. It is NOT intended to be a meet where members stand by while an expert does the work for them.
  6. I don't anticipate that there would be a VERY large number of Zeds, but if the response IS large then perhaps it should be regionalised. Also, many of the jobs would not require a ramp/workshop area. That's the reason for this poll, to establish just how much interest there is and how practical a TECNICAL MEET would be. It would be good if you added your vote to the poll:bow:
  7. I agree.........each participant would have to sign a disclaimer, another of the "proviso's" to be included. I'm glad you think it's a good idea:hyper:
  8. I accept there would have to be some "proviso's", some of which would be:- 1) Members list in advance the work they want to carry out 2) Purchase all parts required in advance and bring to the meet. 3) Bring all own tools required for their jobs. There are many more, which we would have to agree when the meet is being organised but, at the moment, I am just looking for votes on the basic principle of having a TECHNICAL MEET.
  9. One of the major benefits from membership of this club is the help many of our members receive when carrying out modifications etc to our Zeds. I've had an idea for a while now which could benefit many of us even more...... by having a club TECHNICAL DAY/WEEKEND. It would comprise a national meet, somewhere fairly central, where subscribed members who need help and guidance carrying out some modification/repair/service/upgrading/etc. to their Zeds could get together and, under supervision of some knowledgable person, carry out the work required. The 'some knowledgable person' might be a knowledgable volunteer member and/or a qualified Zed mechanic who would be re-imbursed by a 'meet subscription'. The location would ideally be close to a garage with ramp facilities and, if a weekend meet, close to camping facilities. This is only the seed of an idea and would require a great deal more thought and organisation (which I would be glad to contribute towards). I am sure there would be many hurdles to overcome, but I believe it would be achievable and many members could benefit from such a meet. Do you think such a meet would be a good idea? Please vote in the poll and post your comments here.
  10. 35+ Zeds...............a bit like an SC meet:rofl::rofl::rofl: Seriously though, what some stunning photos.........brings back memories of my trip to Oz a few years ago, you lucky beggars with all that sunshine!! Just perfect weather for our Zeds with the targa's off. Although I can't say I notice any off in your photos....probably making best use of the a/c.
  11. Thanks Nick, I can see it on Google Earth now. Looking forward to the 27th......hope the weather will be kind to us.
  12. In fact I like them so much I'm thinking of getting a matching pair for the passenger side......:rofl::rofl:
  13. I've got my name down for this but I can't identify where it is on Google Earth! Do you gain entrance by the gate where Wellington's column is?:) Come on....give us a clue:headvswal
  14. Thanks for all the nice comments guys, seems the concensus is I've made a good choice. I must admit I had some concerns when I bought them, particularly about the black background of the wheels which I thought I would prefer to be silver. But now they are fitted I am really pleased, they give my Zed a much more 'aggressive' look and give it an individuality that it didn't have before.
  15. Old fella???????................OLD FELLA!!!!!!!!!!!!....OLD FELLA I'll give you bloo.......................ooooohhhhhh.........you mean ME? Suppose if the cap fits I'll have to wear it but VERY unwillingly. Thankyou MISTER Scotty for the reminder:slap:
  16. I have Teins also, so I'm hoping it will be a straight forward job to lower them!
  17. Now that I've got my new wheels on, I am considering lowering the suspension, particularly as the front is a little higher than the rear. At the moment the clearance from the top of the tyre to the wheel arch is 4cm at the rear and 5cm at the front. I am thinking of lowering the rear by 2cm and the front by 3cm, so that both would have a clearance of 2cm. Will this give enough clearance for the suspension to work without the wheels rubbing the arches?
  18. Surprised nobody's said polititians yet. They would be top of my list.
  19. Thanks for the compliments car.mad and SkylineDave, I hope you can see all five photos now! Thanks BigDaveZX and mario, I'm glad you like them (I'm crazy about them:dance::hyper::nana2:)
  20. I've just re-entered all five photos, try looking again and see if it's any better!
  21. Can't understand it......any clever cloggs on here that can explain what's going wrong?
  22. That's strange, all five photos in my post show on my screen......anyone else having problems?
  23. Well........I've got them on at last:nana2::nana2: My new wheels arrived Thursday, after some delays, and they're now fitted and looking really cool IMHO. The difference compared to the stock wheels is amazing!:hyper::hyper: The new wheels are 18" FUEL 5's with 8.5" on the front and 9.5" on the rear and I think these widths are just right for the unmodified wings, do you agree? Here's a few photos to show them off...........please let me have your opinions. My next task will be to lower the suspension but I'm not sure at the moment how low to go!
  24. I bought the material about a year ago to do this conversion but I'm scared to death of ruining my lights, so still haven't even started it yet!:headvswal
  25. What entrance do we use for the 300zx stand?
