  1. That makes four!........Any more opinions? I think you're right 8ace, the only way to find out is to measure it myself:headvswal I'll do it tomorrow and post the result up here...that will make a fifth opinion:rofl: What puzzles me is why so many people post rubbish figures, I assume they are not doing it to mislead but how can members be expected to take the figures given here as genuine when such differences are posted!
  2. That's the third different opinion I've read on here about the Zeds 'standard' offset. Can anyone be believed:headvswal
  3. This is what I always find confusing..........I need to know what the camber should be when I change my wheels for wider ones and lower the suspension. Paul gives one set of figures and Darrell gives a different set! I know the correct camber is important to ensure even tyre wear but how can I find out what the CORRECT figures are?
  4. Sorry to hear this, Murt. I really feel for you, I would be devastated if someone did that to mine. Perhaps it's just as well you didn't see them doing it, you could finish up in clink for doing to them what they deserve.
  5. Thanks for your help 8ace, it's interesting to see that the thread says the fronts are +35 but the rears are +45. I wonder if this is for the jap wheels that are the same width as the front or for the wider UK rears? If so, I would have expected the offset to be LESS than the fronts to allow for the extra width. +45 will push the wheels deeper into the well when they are already 1" wider than the front wheels. This wheels business gets more and more confusing........I'm sure it will all work out OK in the end
  6. Thanks for the reassurance hellraiser, I'm not exactly panicking but I want to be sure that the wheels will fit before they are sent next week. There must be loads of members who have fitted wider wheels similar to mine and it would be helpful to hear their experiences.
  7. OK, the new wheels are on their way BUT........have I been too hasty? They are sold 'for the 300zx' but the spec says 'offset 35' and I believe our standard wheel is offset minus35! I have emailed DP-Motorsport to clarify whether the Fuel's offset is positive or negative and am waiting for their reply. If (as I hope) the new wheels are the same offset as the Zed's standard wheel, the new front wheels will intrude 1/2" further into the well and protrude 1/2" further out. The rear wheels will intrude 1" further into the well and protrude 1" further out....(that's based on the original jap wheels that were fitted to my Zed.) Is this likely to pose any problems with 'rubbing' any parts of the Zed?
  8. Why not buy a trailer off ebay, use it for your trip to Zedworld, then set up a business transporting Zeds for club members..........there's obviously a big demand for this service.:D
  9. Not sure whether it's - or + but they are specifically for my '95 Zed so should be ok. I'd love to see them on a silver Zed........can anyone do this for me by changing the black attachment to silver?
  10. Great........thanks a bunch, Kim.
  11. Well, I'm too impatient to wait for responses so I've gone ahead and ordered them:dance: They are "FUEL 5's"...... fronts 8.5j - 35 offset - 235/40/18 tyres fitted rears 9.5j - 35 offset - 265/35/18 tyres fitted Hope to have them fitted in time for the Castle Combe bash in a couple of weeks time. I'm attaching a picture from DP-Motorsport's website showing them fitted to a black Zed. I'm sure they'll look just as good on my silver baby. (Can anyone change the colour for me from black to silver?)
  12. Well.I tried that..........now I've got no picture at all!!!!!!!!!
  13. It's already in my rides, it's the first photo...........if you can help I'd be gratefull Mac:bow:
  14. Does anyone know anything about the 18" "Fuel 5's" pictured below? At the moment they seem to nearest to what I want but I would hate to fork out £700 and then see some I like better around the same price. Any help/comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Does anyone know how to do this?
  16. What about the 'Fuel 5' wheels? They are of similar design to the BSA 359's but are supplied as 8.5J fronts and 9.5J rears. With fitted tyres, they are £700 compared with the BSA's £530!!! Would the price difference be worth it? Pictures below are 1) BSA 359's x 4 2) Fuel 5's x 1 .......... I like the spokes on the BSA's best but the spec of the Fuel's are obviously better with the wider rears etc. The offset on all of these wheels is 35
  17. Does anyone know the widths and offsets of the standard UK wheels?
  18. No probs, m8, it's just the 'offset' question you asked was being answered rather than the questions I had asked. I see you're now running your own thread on the 'offset' question.......hope you get it sorted.
  19. Sorry Andy, no offence intended.....your post was gratefully received together with it's advice. It just got buried in the avalanche of posts from 8ace piggybacking my thread. Not saying he's not entitled, it's a free world after all, but it was distracting from the answers to my questions.
  20. I thought I'd try to claim my thread back.:D Thanks for your comments and replies Si, part of the attraction is the price (£529 with tyres etc) but I also like the multi-spoke look with the 'Y' (very similar to your sig.......No offence meant:) What are the wheel widths on the UK Zed? Your suggested 8.5/10 seems a bit wide to me. What widths are those in your sig?
  21. Don't Tata already make the cheapest car in the world?
  22. Perhaps they'll have their call centre in the UK:D
  23. I am thinking about buying a set of 18" alloys and have seen a set I like but, like all new alloys (I think) they are all the same width, in this case '8J'. What effect will this have on driving the Zed? What are the widths of the standard Zed UK wheels? Is it possible to buy new alloys with rears wider than fronts? The ones I have seen are 'BSA 359' (I really like the style and the price is good), does anyone know if they are any good? Got any other comments or advice?
  24. Put me down too! What about lunch? Is there a pub nearby or does the show have feeding troughs:D?
  25. Except if it's a series four..............NOTHING'S interchangeable on a series four:rant:
