  1. I certainly agree with smacking naughty children. The problem is, whenever it's discussed by the media, the goodie-goodies can't distinguish between smacking and beating so they advocate banning everything. No wonder we have wrinklies like me being intimidated by young yobbo's who make us scared to go out at nighttime. I'm a bit worried about some of the comments on this thread referring to 'kickings' and 'thrashings'.........I think this type of violence is going too far and doesn't get the desired results which is RESPECT, a word which no longer seems to exist in youngster's vocabulary.

Oh dear........another one bites the dust :headvswal We seem to get through more REO's in the SC region than I have hot dinners. We really are not a crazy bunch and have a reputation for having great meets, to the extent that we often enjoy the company of many 'visitors' from other regions at our meets. Much of this is due to the great REO's we've had recently and Athene has certainly been one of our best. Many, many thanks Athene for the hours of work you have put into our region and I am really sorry we are losing you, I hope and trust that you will continue to attend our future meets. A warning to whoever puts their name forward as Athenes replacement....she will be a hard act to follow and our expectations are high that the SC region will continue to have the highest reputation for the best meets of the 300zx.co.uk Club. (when's the next one by the way? :nana2: )
  3. How about joining SW region at the Castle Combe meet on Saturday 19th April? I notice a few SC members are already listed, let's all join them and make it a great meet (weather guaranteed :D ). Have a look http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106559&page=4&pp=15
  4. Please put me down for one admission, no track time. How do I pay?

  6. Hi - Sorry to read about the dog-fight! Not trying to take sides but was it OK to have a dog off the lead on the Ho? I was involved in a similar incident some time ago and left myself open to a private prosecution and being sued.
  7. Don't know..........I was just passing it when I noticed it so didn't have time to eyeball the driver or plate, but it was a nice Zed!
  8. I had just left the multiscreen having seen Rambo (plenty of action there) and was heading back home to Swindon, just turned into London Road and passed this nice silver Zed (like mine!) waiting to come out of either Alvin Street or Oxford Road.....I think. WAS IT YOU??
  9. Yep...you're absolutely right. I know absolutely nothing about turbos....that'll teach me not to comment on things I know nothing about. :nelson: Sorry big ell (I am a N/A owner after all!).
  10. What have you got fitted........a jet engine??
  11.   Hi Jez - It's my latest Zed, the one I had just bought when you collected my first one about 18 months ago. The guy who bought that one off you around Christmas time phoned me a few weeks ago to confirm the info you had given him and check out some history.........he seemed a nice guy and we chatted for about an hour!!!! (Well, he was a wrinkly like me.....it seems these Zeds seem to attract the more 'mature' guy   ) Cheers - Dave
  12. I agree, one of the best freebies on the internet. My area (SN2 2RJ) has been recently updated and now shows my Zed and Mondeo on the drive. The routing facility is also pretty impressive...I now use it to find my way to all meets and it has the feature of being able to automatically 'fly' above and along the route at what speed you like which gives a good idea of how good the route is. I also find it fascinating to re-visit in detail parts of world I was lucky enough to go to before I retired. It brings back many happy memories. I'm certainly very impressed with Google Earth and wonder how long they will give free access.
  13. Or try interparcel.com they have always worked out cheapest for me. You can go to their website and put in the size/weight/destination and it will give you a choice of prices.
  14. Well, I managed to find the meet venue after searching most of the car parks in the area (and there are quite a few!). There were quite a few Jap cars there including half a dozen or so Zeds. Marco was there, with his black SWB looking as immaculate as ever, and I was also delighted to see Eileen and Dave, first time since Isle-of-Wight meet. It is a real shame they both have lifetime bans from the club, I really miss their contributions to the site and wonder if the committee could reconsider the bans...........a lifetime is a hell of a long time.
  15. Thinking of coming to Reading this afternoon, having a Wetherspoon's mixed grill, then coming on to the meet. (If I can find it!)
  16. Don't apologise, it might have been a crumby show but the day out was fantastic..........couldn't have had a better day for taking the Zed for a run......and the food was great :smash: (an important factor for me). So, thanks for the suggestion Lisa
  17. I went on Saturday and I agree with Old Zed......the best things were the weather and the bacon roll I bought there for breakfast. :( It's the first time I've been to the showground and thought the show was pretty poor, for Zed owners anyway. There were loads of bits-and-pieces stalls but not many classic cars. I stayed for less than two hours then left and enjoyed the sunshine by driving home. (I did stop at Frome for lunch and had a really great pub curry at The George). It's also the first time I have been to Frome and spent an hour or so wandering round this extremely attractive olde-worlde town. We really do have some splendidly picturesque places in this country. edit PS I'm really looking forward to Bromley this year.....that's what you CALL a classic car show!!!
  18. I know it's a bit late in the day but I've decided to go to the show tomorrow (Saturday). The weather forecast is great and it's not too far from me and it will give my Zed an airing, it hasn't been on the road for a couple of weeks. I'll look out for any of you in the car park. edit PS If anyone wants to meet at the show give me a call on 07711 696960!
  19. Oh! That's a pity......my nurse doesn't give me my bed bath until 1pm  Never mind......perhaps some other time ;)
  20. Ooooooooooooooo....You say the nicest things :o .....fancy a date? :nana2:
  21. Wouldn't miss Castle Combe for the world!! Put me down for one car, just me, no track. How and when do I pay? (Are there reductions for OAP's?) Dave
  22. It's always seemed strange to me, the people who profess to be Christians!(I'm not by the way)
