  1. Silly question maybe but are you sure its pulling away if first gear?
  2. Same subject slight different angle. I am currently putting big brakes on, and looking at the wing liners and how much they block the intercooler air from going anywhere fast, so I am thinking how well a duct from the wing liner using intercooler air going to the brakes. Killing 2 birds with one stone maybe?
  3. Personally I would prefer to loose ther rear and be able to steer myself out of trouble, I hope. If you lose the front you just hang on. This thread reminds me of an article in a bike mag some years ago. They were slagging off all the riders who just HAD TO have the best sports tyres going. Trouble was they were thinking they were far better than they were in reality, so the super sticky race tyres never got up to temp, and were actually performing less well than a set of decent sports/touring tyres.
  4. IMHO I think it would be OK, as long as the mark is not "proud" of the rest of the journal but if you took it in without this damage and they did do it, then they have to put it right. I would be upset too. Nissan didnt make it like that and you have every right to expect a profesional job for the money, (however much it was). And its not a big end journal.
  5. Many people have a poor opinion of Nangkangs too, (again these tyres have been discussed on here), but often peoples poor opinon's are based on hear say and their dislike for the name. Nangkangs have had all of the slagging that the tyres in question on this thread have recieved. But, in my actual experience Nangkangs, at least in the bigger high performance sizes that we are talking about here are fine. As I say, this is from experience not some opinion based on wether or not I like the name (which I dont). All tyres sold here have to comply to certain standards, I cant see them falling apart at high speed. They may not wear well, or grip well wet and/or dry, but they have to be safe. Someone, sooner or later will spend their money and see if these tyres are OK. But many on here will still slag them off, and will do forever. I have used this example before, but who among us, if you are old enoght to remember, would have even considered buying a Datsun Sports car thirty years ago? They rusted, were dynamically poor, the styling was not so hot, etc etc etc. Sure they were reliable but nobody actually "wanted" one. And yet here was are thinking that Nissans are among some of the best cars in the world. Will this be said of Nangkangs and Linglongs in the future? We are all allowed our views, but to slag something off without experience or knowledge of the product is silly, and short sighted. No offence. :-)
  6. I have just bought a set of 19" Falkens form Tyretraders.com, they were cheaper than anyone, inc Falkendirect, Mytyres etc. What ever you buy have a look there, they only charge £9.00 for delivery, how ever many tyres you buy. Good delivery time too.
  7. If you do a search you may find the results of a survey on this, ie did removing the cats cause a problem with the tubs. IIRC the majority said no.
  8. Thats the sort of stuff I use, I dont drive the car, just let it tick over for 20-30 mins, so its nice and warm, rev it gently a few times etc. If your engine is FUL of sh*t, and it frees it off into the oil it may block the filter, but as you changing it anyway. And if its that bad, maybe consider running another cheap oil/derve through to really get it out. But I have used it for years with no probs.
  9. As they said, I use a can of flushing adivitive, run the engine for half hour then drain, and I always have clean oil.
  10. A friend of mine, Ken, owns and runs a company called Specialist Transmissions Automatic. As you can tell from their name its all they do, been doing them for 25 years or so. He knows his stuff. 01296 481145 or mobile 07774 696600. Tell him I gave you his number if you ring him, and he will talk over the phone if your looking for advice etc.
  11. My son had a similar thing with his GTR, not that his was slow, but after someone adjusted it, it came on boost much sooner and stronger. So, although I have no experience of your controller the answer has to be yes. Now all you need is someone to tell you how.
  12. It has to be worth that money, but has been said, finding the right man is triicky sometimes. My only comment would be to explain why it was repainted, someone might think it was because it was rusty and will not risk the rust comming back. Good Luck. Oh, and move further south, lol.
  13. I think I personally, up till a few years ago, vastly underestimated the importance of a good oil. And regualar changes. I think that while any old oil can "seem" ok its when it under stress, more used than it can cope with etc that the damage occures. So thats why I now use good stuff only. There is also the situation where one perfectly good quality oil can let your engine make more noise than a similar other good oil. Sometimes I have tried three oils just to find one that my engine "likes". Not just talking Z's here but other more normal cars too. Currently the family Micra DCi likes Castrol GTD Magnatex.
  14. With the right mods 400bhp is available with standard tubs anyway.
  15. Talking of Opie, if you ask them I seem to remember them saying if you use a OOD oil, then 2-3k oil changes are a waste of money as the oil is still goiod at that mileage. This means that the £50.00 oil, that last twice as long becomes more reaonable than a "cheap" oil.
  16. At that rate I will wait, I have an alluminium flywheel to fit. Thanks
  17. I need to do this soon too. What size are the nuts, because I think I will go and buy the correct wobble socket now. Cheers.
  18. I too have never heard a bad thing about them, I however am not near them and used Tyre traders, and they were the cheapest this time around. Delivery spot on too.
