Cheers, if its not running by then I will kick myself, or someone anyway....

If my Z is running I will try my best to be there, not the comp, just to attend. :-). Will there be a reminder nearer the day?
  3. Is it not the vapour that burns? If so, despite being mixed with water the vapour will stil be there. I guess. "p.s if you completely mix 50 50 water meth why does the meth still burn????????
  4. The article does imply that the unit uses its set parameters to release fluid by the correct amount to attain the desired wheel speed, and not that it actually calculates the amounts needed. But the article on warped discs is a bit strange, I have put discs on a lathe and seen massive runout (warp) and yet she says they have never seen it. Makes me wonder about them. Playing safe, looks like I am going to use Skyline discs, which are not much bigger (44mm) and retain the original calipers, so the ABS should not be too upset, if at all, and if the article is right.
  5. Go for the water and add meth as and when, its true you loose power but it cant be much and it really helps the engine, so is def worth it.
  6. Having read one of the other topics on caliper move out kits, I find that one a bit unlikely too. And hows this fro the StopTec site. "in more than 40 years of professional racing, including the Shelby/Ford GT 40s – one of the most intense brake development program in history - I have never seen a warped brake disc". Well I have, maybe I should send "her" a couple. Lol.
  7. As far as I know water injection robs power, albeit only a small amount. This, however is offset by the ability to run higher boost adn/or safer boost. I guess adding methanol or something can put some power back and/or protect the engine even further. Def a good idea though, I am going to run it on mine and I am only hopeing for 400bhp, and some would argue that I dont need it, but its safer, and it cleans the engine too. A win win situation.
  8. I was assuming that the author of the article knew more than I do, but basically I agree that ABS should not behave as the article says. But, then I think, "well maybe" Maybe they are just after more business. I wanted to try and make sure before I went ahead and bought some bigger brakes.
  9. But if you read the article I can see it "might" make sense? What we/I need is for people with big brakes to tell of their experience. PLEASE...
  10. If only i could read before posting. Thanks Steve So, what does this mean in the real world to us? Have any of us had this problem, (I see JD implies he has). Anyone?
  11. Thanks Konrad, thats good to know. But Fraser I have to disagree, to a point. I would have agreed with you but when I read the article I need to re read, it becomes apparent that its not quite so simple. I think. Lol. Anyway, hopefully Steve will find it and we can all read it.
  12. Thanks, be handy....:-)
  13. Thanks for your thoughts guys, I am looking at rotors of about 320mm. I have read somewhere, and I have done a search too, that sometimes the ABS will be fooled into thinking there is something wrong, ie lock up imminent, by the unexpected signals from the ABS sensor on one, or both, of the front wheels with the bigger discs. Something to do with the degree of retardation or something clever I dont understand.
  14. I have read that fitting big brakes can upset the ABS and it kicks in too early and in effect makes your brakes not work very well at all. Anyone know what this is all about? Is it when you go over a certain diameter?
  15. Thanks, so am I right in thinking that any sensor in the pipes that the 2fast elboes/decats replace can be junked? But not anything in the manifold itself?
  16. IMHO water injection is all good. See http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/january04/300zx/ If water injection allows 14psi on poor American gas it has to be good....
  17. Hi, thinking of some 2 fast 2 cool de cats inc elbows. Question is, my car, a '92 TT shorty, has a few plugs and things in the original exhaust pipes just about in line with the gearbox (manual). Do these need to be fitted or can I just junk them all, or some of them? Thanks,
  18. 20/50 oil should tell you something. Like he knows nothing about the car......Good Luck, but maybe a few bricks through his other cars windows etc might change his mind. Not that I am suggesting it of course. Cost him a lot more in the long run....
  19. I had this on a BMW, turned out to be the limited slip diff was way to tight (if thats the word) which didnt allow enough slip going round corners. Drifted well though!
  20. Edworthy's??? I live near them, tossers, allways have been. I sold an FTO to someone who later put in there for an alarm, came out with a knocking big end. As for wheels, buy wider ones for the rear, say 9.5 inch, and 8.5 inch for fronts. I have these sizes on 19" (235/35....265/30...)
  21. Was the battery flat? Sometimes when the battery is really flat they will do this...
  22. Legrath says "A certain trader I recommend supplies the genuine Nissan items for less than that|" So who is it then? :-)
  23. Thanks 300zx Girl, I might take you up on that. Can I PM a picture? Or is it better to an ordinarlt email account? Its def not a standard Nissan sticker, more like those done by a garage informing of next service, or cam belt done at **** type of thing. Thanks.
  24. OK, I see, I cant really be bothered with placing another gauge somewhere but that might be an idea. Whats involved in repairing it? Do they just get gummed up?
