Dual exit or single exit exahust?
I think the Single exit pipe is more for the true Sports Car in the Z32 range, ie the SWB TT Manual.. Twins are for Limo's :-)

De-cat... sorry guys... just 1 more question
maybe, just maybe thats why they are called "De-cat" pipes. :-)

Dual exit or single exit exahust?
Sir Mixalot said "You obviously do need some backpressure for the engine to work otherwise why bother with an exhaust at all? the correct setup will need a z mechanic with an intimate knowledge of the turbo engine and a good grasp of physics" You need an exhaust to a) make the car quiet enough to be legal. b) to make the fumes exit from not underneath the car and c) because there is an ideal "tuned" length for all engines (which varies from one to another). Back pressure? Ha ha

Dual exit or single exit exahust?
Saying that Nissan made it twin pipes so must be better is irrelevant as they have many other factors to consider. And why do people "want" or "need" backpressure????? Do you see race cars with great big restrictors to make back pressure? As has been said here, the idea for any engine is to get the fuel/air in, burn it and get it all out as quickly as poss. Without giving any names I know a chap, a mod on another forum, who thought that back pressure actually closed the exhaust valves. Honest.

brake caliper question
How much more do the tt front calipers pretrude than the na calipers. Also are the discs a different diameter? If anyone has done the conversion and knows an exact measurements, it would be very handy. Need this info to decide whether the wheels i want will clear the calipers. many thanks

19" Rims Question
And what offsets do you guys run? And have any of you got bigger brakes?

Front Wheel Size advice.
Similar to an earlier post, I have sorted my rear wheels but need some help on the front. The supplier is suggesting an offset of 20mm for an 8.5inch wide 18" (maybe 19") wheels. I intend fitting big brakes hence the offset to clear. Question. Will this wheel fit my standard Z without modding my arches? Does anyone have this size fitted? I have looked and searched but "need" an answer that I can trust. Cheers

Wheel help
Thanks, how close to the outside edge of the arch are your wheels? I dont want to touch the bodywork. I guess you mean the calipers just miss the wheel where the word NISSAN is on the caliper?

Wheel help
Hi, I have done a search and am not much the wiser. My problem, my son has ordered a set of wheels for the States (for my birthday) for my '92 Shorty TT. 8.5 fronts, 9.5 rears, 18" diameter. I am supposed to have some R34 Brembos coming so have to take these into account. The supplier has suggested an offset of 20 front and 25 rear. Question, will these fit properly? Without modding the arches etc. Thanks.

Zed world?
I had a bit of a disagreement with him, but would still say he was worth trying as before we fell out he was very helpfull.

Tyres, tyres, tyres
Before driving my sons Skyline I might have agreed with you, but the fact is these tyres work well. I also feel that a "normal" Nankang, ie 177/65/15 or similar might well different. I can remember when Bridgestone first started, no one would buy them either, now people swear by them. Remember Datsuns? Now who would buy a Datsun? Not us? I know a man who works as a manager in a tyre fitting place, he wont touch Kumho, says they are cheap rubbish. Good enough for VW to fit as standard though. And Kumho did used to be poor. Time moves on, and what may have started as a cheap useless tyre may now be a whole lot better than many believe, just cheaper. In a few years time I bet they are regarded as "good" and are more money. They are made in Taiwan, not known as a great tyre producing nation, yet. Have a look at what the Yanks say are good, some of them we have never heard of over here. Only way for them to sell many and get a name is to sell them cheap. Jamies certainly look the part....and from the abuse he gives them they cope very well.

Tyres, tyres, tyres
Just to be different. My son has a tuned R33 GTR, he is 19 and is not yet aware that he isnt bulletproof. He is the hardest driver I know, happy to drop his clutch at 7+k revs for a fast getaway. Anyway, to the point. He has Nankangs on, front and rear. These replaced some Bridgestones and Dunlops. He is convinced they are as good. It never loses grip, wet or dry. As for wear, too early yet to tell.

If I may be so bold. English lessons might be a good start. Try making some sense and you might get on better. :-)

what do you reckon
I personally dont like black wheels, but its your car. But I have just stripped downs my wheels which are very similar to yours, and painted them a mid met grey (Honda). They were easy to strip, so go for it yourself and dont pay someone else a fortune to do it for you. After bead blasting £20.00 and painting £100, they look almost like new.

Locking Wheel Nuts
I have some new 18" wheels coming, a birthday present from my son, and I will put two sets of Mcgards on. If you register the key and loose it Mcgard are very quick sending a new one, 15 Euros I think.
-
Locking Wheel Nuts
Having read the Autoexpress article I agree completely. I had a Volvo, which I owned so I could make as much noise as I wanted etc, that had Mcgard's on and I simply could not get them off. They also do a different design which is very tough, but I guess not as good..
-
Locking Wheel Nuts
If the wheel locks are not hardened a set of wheel lock removers just take them of so easy they are not worth the trouble. I only ever use Mcgard. Tuff as you need, my removers wont touch them, a good chisel and a big hammer wont touch them either.
