  1. I have read about a Z in Oz running 500bhp or so on T28's, which I understand is what are fitted to R34's. T28 being a direct replacment for T25's, as I understand it. Hence my question. As for them not being designed for the Z, (Royal) well, not sure what to say. But thanks anyway.
  2. Sorry, should have said, de cat, single exit, Apexi filter and chipped.
  3. Hi, I have sort of been offered a pair of R34 Turbos. Question, how hard are they to make fit and are they worth the effort? 92' Jap import SWB TT Manual. Thanks.
  4. But I think you will need some filter upgrade if you are going to tune it. And yes I think they are the best. Some other brands are simply useless.
  5. Yes, we shouldnt go there. Lol. Lifes too short too.
  6. Re the fight bit.... tongue in cheek.
  7. Little wonder we only have 500 subscribed members but thousands of registered users. Who in their right mind would want to join this club with a welcome like some of you have dished out to this guy?? This in fact true, my membership ran out a few weeks ago. Shame it has to get to this level......
  8. As for the bearing sizes, they didnt match the stampings, so I measured each journal, compared this with the shell sizes made some phone calls, Emailed Courtesy, spoke to Jeff TT who helped alot and crossed my fingers. Actually as my bearings were not worn it was easy to replace them for the same size. I just wanted to be sure. And if they were the wrong size they would have shown this in how they were worn.
  9. Refusing to reply in the interests of Love, Peace and Harmony within the 300zx.co.uk club. And the fact that the Nitropow thread has done enough damage. Also I was not looking for a fight. :-)
  10. Well thats OK, you are allowed to have your opinion. And I mine. I am sure that this would not be attempted by anyone without any knowledge and time, I assumed that was a given. However it is easy. I was told it was hard by a few people before I started it, but they either dont know what they are on about or they are trying to protect their business. Which is also OK as we all have to eat. But this job is not hard. Oh, one more thing. Its a cross member not a subframe. Lol. :-) And if you are doing the job why not drop the member all the way then you can get the sump out very easily. As for the sizes on the crank, not always true as in my case they were wrong. Dont know why.....But this actually supports your argument in as much as it makes it harder (potentially) Oh Well.
  11. I did my own bottom end, big ends and main bearings. Only thing found slightly worn was the end float thrust washers on one of the mains. Anyway, it is very easy to do yourself. Drop the cross member and its easy. As the cam belt and water pump etc are in a different place, (sort of) you dont have to do them at the same time. I did the bottom end then do the front end ie belt and pump. Unless you are doing the oil pump then its all connected. IIRC
  12. I know that, but my point was ref the claim the gearbox cannot be standard because of the top speed, but in fact it could have been. But what do I know?
  13. It the final drive, ie diff that determines the top speed. :-)
  14. From where I am sitting some of you could have been some what more friendly over this. Skeptical? Yes. Rude? Why? And what if Nitro is correct? The rude ones may regret their stance, the merely skeptical ones can say "Well Done" without regret. Me? I have no idea how truthful Nitros claims are. I do know there are lots of people on all forums with big mouths making all sorts of claims. And there are others who flame anyone who is not their buddy. Its a shame when forums sink to this level.
  15. Ditto. What will all the doubters say if he proves it I wonder? Humble Pie anyone?
  16. Maybe the bearing has fallen to bits, and allowed the drum to drop?
  17. Might be the bearing at the back which the drun spins on, easy to fix, about £30.00 from the internet for most models. Common fault. Or perhaps bits in the pump, as someone else said, when the drum turns how does it feel?
  18. I think the RB26 (GTR Engine) is more tuneable, as in easier, it also has bigger turbos I think. Some engines just work better than others too.
  19. I have two Z's. An auto and a manual, both TT. The auto is slightly modified and goes really well, or so I thought until my son bought a modified R33 GTR. This Skyline eats my Z so easy its silly. Masses of bottom end, top end, traction, brakes. Simply put it out drives both my cars completely. And yes I would swap.... http://img372.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscf00240xk.jpg

  21. My understanding of the main reason for the "X" or "H" pipe or what ever you call it was to balance the banks (cylinders) and give more performance, this may have changed tho noise too. If an exhaust drones I feel it is down to poor design.
  22. :-). Was not being unkind, trying to be funny, Failed I guess?
