Im thinking of removing my canister next week, anyone else got any more input about it?

my broken engine is coming out on monday, new engine almost ready to go in here is my list of stuff to do Check new cam belt / timing Swap over cam cover bolts Repaint cam covers and rocker covers Clean and repaint engine bay egr system removal (blanks already fitted to plenium) recirc removal, bumper have to come off? aircon removal, aircon pump and aircon rad etc carbon canister removal swap alternator to new engine check and fit better gearbox Swap almost new seals from old gearbox swap rps clutch, goodrich line, uprated pivot ball, fit new spigot bearing change downpipes and check turbos swap over aftermarket oil pressure sender swap dip stick ? or use stock with spring? connect and setup pro spec 2 on new engine check setup tps reconnect det sensor (remove resistor) get ebay divorced downpipes + decats get 3 more l of mt90 gearbox oil fit koyo rad cut down top rad pipe to fit? Fit c/f fan shoud, keep old good non cracked fan Make / get koyo rad bracket fit new clutch booster fit new water pipes and heater matrix

might have been zully's if it was a kitted up zed with lambo lights

Yes you are liable so you would have to pay damages and compensation to the person that cut themselves on your car. From the post that Saz put up its now an offence to own a vehicle without vailid insurance unless its declared SORN. Its also an offence then to have a vechicle that is declared SORN on a public highway unless your driving it to a prebooked mot. So... I think that the way they will look at it and the way that the law sees it is that the SORN is not vaild because of it being on a public road is a breach of the SORN declaration. Therefore it puts you in the position of having a car parked on the road with no tax and no insurance, which are both now offences, not sure about the mot. I think your best bet is to show them it has no engine so there is no way you could or were planning to drive it, say your very sorry and get it moved. Personally I think this new offence of owning a car that is not properly SORN with no insurance is a bit pants, but if it allows the police to get uninsured scum bag drivers off the road then great :) What you have to do is prove to them you are not one of those uninsured scum bag chav drivers as you were not going to drive it! Yes you would loose out but we are talking about the legal requirement of insurance on a car that is not being driven but parked on a public highway The only reason I can see as in my prev post is public liability, as Si said, if it caught fire and took another car with it etc. You would be liable of course, but is it a legal requirement?

Thats what i thought to be honest. Sorn says has to be on private land, driveway or garage so your stuck with the no tax, but thats like 80 quid fine right? The only reason I can see that you need insurance is for public liability, ie someone failling over it etc You might get away with that on your home insurance policy tho? Mot - dont think the law says you need it for it to be parked on a road

It is an offence to drive a vehcile on a public highway without insurance end of. You can drive to a prebooked mot without a vaild mot or tax. If you are comp on the zed AND over 25 you should be about to drive other cars NOT belonging to you but they MUST be insured by the owner. Getting caught with no insurance might not get you arrested but it WILL get you 6 points and up to a grand fine. You might be able to add the primera to your Z policy as a second car, or get a short term policy.

same happened to me, actuator jammed, these are non standard but are fitted along with most alams. If your door is jammed then i think you will find its the aftermarket actuator thats stuck. I dont think the stock mech can get stuck in that way. i couldnt open the door at all, even from the inside of the car, you can pull on the tab on the inside of the door but it wont budge. Am I right? If so you will need to disconnect the actuator from the door mechinism. Its possible to do it with the door card on but not easy if you dont know what it feels like etc. I knifed mine in the end so it cost me a door card (tenner) and a new actuator (£5) from ebay or maplins. My drivers door lock has never worked with the key (it just spins), passenger side still works tho :) After that im climbing in the boot!

OK im starting a new thread for this This is while doing a plenium water bypass. Has anyone bothered removing the metal water pipes from the throttle bodies by drilling them out as it says on tt.net? (2001th post yey) ! :D
