Guest Saz
you need for there to be an insurance policy on the vehicle your wanting to drive 3rd party, otherwise you will not be insured as far as im aware, you got two choices a low loader or risk going to the test station uninsured! Funkysi
As above, you can take it to and from an MOT test centre for either a pre-arranged MOT and/or pre-arranged MOT work to be carried out on the vehicle without the need for MOT, tax or insurance. Not sure what would happen though if you had a prang on your way there.
Shunter
I believe you still need to be insured, but tax and mot is ok as long as the mot is prebooked.
Funkysi
Edit that....you do need insurance. Tax and MOT are not required.

Guest deve8uk
if the ar you are driving is not taxed or mot'd you are void of insurance in teh event of a crash. If you have a crash and you are not insured you will be arrested and charged. I just checked with teh wife, shes an insurance broker. tulip
as far as im aware your fully comp ins from the zed covers you 3rd party to drive other cars as long as you are NOT the registered owner of the car all of the above are great in theory but its not till something happens that you find out exactly what your insured for
mick1
The car you are driving Has to be insured and registered to someone else for you to be covered third party And your insurance is valid if your MOT is pre booked
AndyP
I think you need someone else to drive it there, if you're not insured to drive the vehicle.
Funkysi
Yup, you can drive legally to a pre-booked MOT without Tax. http://www.dumfriesandgalloway.police.uk/faqs/motoring/car_tax.htm

jaffaZ32
if you have booked it in for a mot and can prove you are driving there for the apointment i believe you dont need tax or insurance it's just tax you don't need as if you were to have a accident they wouldn't let you off paying your fees or what ever
edk83
It is an offence to drive a vehcile on a public highway without insurance end of. You can drive to a prebooked mot without a vaild mot or tax. If you are comp on the zed AND over 25 you should be about to drive other cars NOT belonging to you but they MUST be insured by the owner. Getting caught with no insurance might not get you arrested but it WILL get you 6 points and up to a grand fine. You might be able to add the primera to your Z policy as a second car, or get a short term policy.

DAN@ADRIAN FLUX
No you cannot drive your second car under the first car's policy even though you have driving other cars third party only. The other car cannot be owned or hired to you. Dan
