  1. In the middle of my NA to TT conversion and swapping the air con systems over! :There is one line we are having difficutly with! :It has a purpose built, cylindrical shaped swell in the line made of aluminium! About the size of a small fuel filter! Novalves attached to it, just the AC line going in and out, it lives near the passenger side turbo! :We are having difficulty incorporating this and wondered if it was a necessary part of the system?
  2. Put a load of newspapaer underneath the engine and leave it running for a long time, the stains will tell you where the leak is from! Another test for the head gasket is to leave the rad cap off and the engine running, if you see a continuous flow of minute bubbles, the size of the ones of a side of a glass of lemonade! Then you might have problems:(
  3. HI, As things are getting a bit dark early on now, I have started to notice the lack of light down the workshop!! Have got a few plug points down there, and for the short time we have left, I would rather use these and have something portable! So what are the choices and where do I get them from?
  4. Many people on TT.net do not touch the short engine til 600bhp! 300zxclub as well!
  5. It LOOKS DISTURBING! But why do other cars achieve greater reliable HP on the standard setup??
  6. He means you might need a new rad cap, get a 1.2kg/cm one, or nismo uprated!
  7. Have talked to some people in the same position as me and have used the NA fan with no problems! To be truthful I was thinking of upgrading the fan as some people in Japan have done this! It might be more able to cope with London Traffic Jams then:mad:
  8. The auxillary fan in front of the condensor, you coming to Slough meet Jock!
  9. Out of interest, because I don't know the answer, how would a crack in the piston lands cause you to burn oil? Are the piston lands cracking a sign of the ignition timing not being retarded enough under full boost?
  10. Cheers Gio, Will have a peruse of the manual, the fans look the same just with a different plug on the end!
  11. I am going to be using the NA aircon fan with the TT aircon system! The fan is only a one speed fan that is due to be activated at certain temp. I believe the temp at which the fan is activated is governed by the ECU, and I will be using a TT ecu. I believe on the tt ECU it activates the fan at approx 90degrees, so am I right in assuming that this is the point at which the fan will kick in?
  12. No, Then I would have to change my signature to Swiss Tony says " getting rid of mass on a car is like making love to a beautiful woman"
  13. Hi Eric, Wasn't doubting your word just never heard of these differences before!!
  14. Yes I have heard that as well, I thought we just had stock radiators as well, but someone said euro rads were nismo as standard!
  15. HI, Heard this the other day, never come across it before!
  16. Tried to fit my Uprated clutch pivot ball the other day and it the thread was too small for the, opening! Anyone know whether the clutch pivot ball that comes with OS gilken clutch is uprated?
  17. Dam was trying to keep it all top secret, now you've let all out of the bag Pambos:D
  18. Cheers Eric, The zed oracle strikes again, I know the tank has to be vented but I thought the tank had to be pressurised/vacuum, since you get that rush of air sound whenyou open the filler cap!
  19. No venturis on my series two:confused: It is very restricted down there and trying to tidy things up, quite a few people have done it in the states. One of the problems is that there is a difference on the charge temp between the different IC's, hopefully this will improve flow and equalise the temp more!
  20. Took out the carbon canister in the bumper, to again smooth IC flow! After we removed the associated pipework, we were left with three hoses, one about 1 inch thick going into the front chassis rail. Two other smaller diameter ones returning back to the firewall! Am I right in presuming all of these need blocking off?
  21. No this one is staying off, fitting a smaller model to ease flow through the intercoolers! Found out the rad cap allows water to be sucked back in when a vacuum occurs, cheers guys!!!!!!:D
  22. Cheers Mate! I can see your point of view! I don't have to plug the overflow hose from the rad cap, I can just run a length of hose to the floor, like older cars, I am of course too young to remember this! I believe on some systems they do suck the coolant back into the car, but on the Zed I cannot see where this can happen!
  23. Clearing out the side bumper to ease IC flow and pulled off the rad overflow tank! Couldn't see any way for ditched water to return to the rad is this the case, then I can just not put it back in?
