  1. Stuart, Fuel can be a problem, but the Nissan designers tried to stop the problem of fuel vaporising on the prototype Zeds by increasing the fuel pressure! There is less likelyhood of a consistent design problem in the fuel rail because of it's construction and this has never been highlighted before!
  2. Macca if you saw the the block I took apart, you wouldn't believe it! Ask AndyG next time you speak to him! The front three cylinders have plenty of flow to them and rears have hardly any!
  3. By the way true the water does get hotter as it reaches the rear cylinders, but if you saw how much the rear cylinders are blocked by the old casting flashings you would be amazed!
  4. UUMmm interesting theory, I think they are dong research into this phenomenom at the University of Southern California:D
  5. There may be a few more factors than that involved, although it is something to consider! It would be interesting to see if they could do this poll in the US and aus and see what conclusions we can come to??? Also Dazzer the well known Zed mechanic in Kent says that it is always No 6 that goes on the engines he has to rebuild! It might be interesting to get PeteR's point of view!
  6. Hi, The zed has reputedly a problem with the rear cylinders overheating! This is alledgedly down to too much of the water channel flashings left in the block, from the original casting! They don't let coolant flow to the rear cylinders easily and can be removed if you have an engine rebuild!! Also problems with the plenum design and heat from the turbos can mean the charge air is hotter at the rear cylinders! So just out of interest chuk down what cylinder failed on your motor?
  7. I taped Boomtown on the VCR the other night!! By some magnificent coincedence I managed to tape the Lynx advert, the one where the girl is delivering a Pizza in her Nightie and Bites her lip on the closing shot!:D :D :D  This portion of the Tape is wearing desperately thin!!!!!!

My solution would be to park the car on a steep incline, radiator highest and run the engine with the rad cap open!

The oil temp has a miniscule relationship to the water temp on a Zed! The heater temp being cold has nothing to do with the thermostat if the engine is overheating! The link between the heater core and the engine are permaneantly open with coolant constantly flowing around them. The thermostat only when at the correct temp should open the cooling circuit, only to the radiatior and then include that in the loop! If your engine was overheating and your rad was cold then I would blame the thermostat!

Why should he change the stat?? Sounds like it needed bleeding!
  11. Hi Mike, I beleive the optimum size tyres to go for are! Front 245's any bigger and you will get tramlining, 8 inch rim! Rear 285 or 295 10 or 10and a half inch rim
  12. No Mate SE did one a long time ago!
  13. I think that Claire the events organiser relises this and that is why she suggested a GTS and 300ZX dyno day! There are some guys who have spent 100K on their skyline, so I think it is fair to assume they might just get the edge:D
  14. I'm overwhelmed!!! Spelling correction, repressed homosexuality, violence and offers of assistance all in one thread!!!! I'm welling Up:cry: It's like an episode of Tricia!!! Kirbz Mate if you can sort out who would be the best person to pick it up from and I will try and work out how to get it from them!! Thank you all so verymuch Boo Hooo HHOooo
  15. There is a plastic cap on the end of the injector it is the only viable thing to push it with!! Just had an answer from TTNet, apparently you put a pen cap over the end and push it with that!!!
  16. If you wanna keep stock brakes then! You can bleed the system, fit SS brake lines, new pads, fit master cylinder brace! If you want new front calipers and discs then the most sensible way to go is Skyline R33 GTR V spec brakes, pick em up for about £500 on the GTR forum!!
  17. But how do you keep the plastic end cap from breaking, if you push from the bottom?
  18. Had a top day watched Gary do some sterling laps at Brands Hatch in his 300ZX:D :D Then went to the workshop and dropped the TT engine into the convertible!!
  19. Sounds like you been larging it up too MUCH!!!! Get well soon mate!!
  20. There was talk of two dyno days! One for four and one for two wheel drive vehicles, I think the two wheel drive ones would be a fairer comparison! Just talked to Andy Barnes (sumo power) and he says the only BHP that counts is the stuff you can apply to tarmac! I have to agree:D
  21. Hi, If anyone is travelling that way, can you do me a big favour and pick up a rad from Kirbz and bring it to London!
  22. Spoke to Banzai mag a whil ago and I believe they now advertise our site in their Mag. Spoke to TT.net mods and they now have a link to our site on their Forum!!
  23. Hi All, Received a message from Claire the events co-ordinator of the GTROC about joint Dyno Day!! Here is the message! Hi Mark, Hope you're well? I would like to start thinking about a possible Dyno Day between your club and ours. The GTR's v's 300zx - what do you think and get a publication involved too! I have some suggested dyno places the easiest one is G-Force, based in Aylesbury (not to far) and they work better with 4 wheel. Im organising another dyno for 2 wheel as well, basically that will be for the likes of the GTS-T's and non turbos. Let me know what you think and I will contact G-Force and book a date. I think the max is upto 30 cars and min is 12. So we could have 15 cars from each club!?! Just to let you know incase you were not aware there are two other Dyno companies called THOR Racing - Midlands/North and CPL Racing - Kent, who have mobile dyno's, this might interest your representatives around the UK. Drop me an email on reallywild89@hotmail or PM me via this site. Talk soon Claire
