  1. Ok, my bad on this... The setting were correct 22psi giving about 1.5 bar of boost and 18 giving about 1.2 bar... Got to go and reset the warning settings now! I should have just left well alone! I've still got alot to learn!!!
  2. Cheers Mate... I think I'll have to get it setup on a rolling road... I'll probably take it to see Jeff in the fairly near future so hopefully he can cast an eye on it...
  3. Hi mate... I think the Hi setting was supposed to be 15.2psi and the Lo 10.5 but I don't think this is the case... So this is way off... as said I'm very worried that the original setting may over time damage the engine... Thanks Paul
  4. Hi guys, As you guys know I have bought Radrons car... it has many gizmos and a great spec and I'm very happy with it, however I checked the peak reading in the boost controller a while ago and it stated it was 222 :shock: So I have checked the rest of the setting and and they are: Lo: Set 53% Gain 10% Set Gain 105 warning 110 L 10% Hi: Set 72% Gain 10% Set Gain 152 warning 180 L 10% I'm not sure what the setting mean or should be? I did find see posting by Mr. Dixon that explains it all but can't seem to find it at the moment... The original warning level was set to for 188 for Lo and 224 for Hi. I would like some advice on what to do with it.. Should I keep it off and keep to Safety boost? Thanks for the help in advance guys :) Paul
  5. Hi mate, that's Sh1t, I feel for you... My first thought would be to seek legal advice as they misrepresented the car that they sold you, I guess citizens advice would be a good start... The next thing to do would be to give Jeff at Zedworld a call and get the car to him or get him to supply a known good engine. I personally would be heading down to the police station as it really sounds like you've been defrauded... Again, sorry this has happened to you there are some really dishonest To55sers out there...
  6. Yes... as the boost controller controls the Turbo/boost solonoids (I think) and the ECU doesn't so cannot physically limit the amount of boost being delivered... BUT this does mean that engine damage can occur if something goes wrong (i.e. Det) and you don't pick up on it...
  7. Yes... I believe it is... I think, and stand to be corrected, that the only time you won't go into safety boost is if you have an external boost controller... then the ECU cannot restrict the turbo solonoids (spelling) and therefore won't put the car into safety boost... at least that's the way I understand it... hth
  8. Mikes is available in the traders section on here...
  9. Mike feeney @ mjp is also a good guy, it should be noted that he doesn't do all of the work himself and has a guy local to him that he uses. All the work is vetted by mike and is to a top standard.
  10. Cheers for that Chris... I'm Happy for the Owner to drive me in it tbh.. I've had two Zeds so know what they're like to drive and as it's a members car I'm going to see I'm happy they won't be holding anything back... I imagine that I won't turn the traction of at all!!!! I hope this is the car for me.....!
  11. Thanks for the advice guys... I'm thinking about seeing if brands hatch has anything to offer in the way of tuition... It's just around the corner from me...
  12. He doesn't own a garage but he does know a good mechanic and vets the work done himself... I would give him a call and see if he can do anything for you mate... just ask for advice first off...
  13. Got it...:p Any more?
  14. Give Mike a call... He'll at least give you some advice, are you an AA/RAC member? If you are get them to transport you...
  15. Hi mate, You're not far from Mike @ MJP who is an expert on these cars too, I'm sure he'd have look for you if you ask... give him a call mate... His numbers in the traders section Thanks Paul
  16. I've just seen a vid on youtube of a guy driving round Cadwell park like a complete pillock in a 500bhp car that scared me sh1tless AND got me thinking... I'm looking at a fairly high power Zed later today (estimated around 450 I guess maybe more.. dyno to prove 409 I believe) and realised that the most powerful car that I've driven/owned to date was at around 300 (scoob I'm afraid to say)... Now I'm fairly sensible and will obviously be taking it very easy if I decide to buy it, it has Race Logic etc. but this got me thinking that actually I don't know how to drive a car that powerful... (well at least not properly) and if I'm on the road I need to know that I can control it! Now as it'll be a road car mainly with a few track days thrown in what advice would you guys give... If I go for it I'm going to do and airfield day with instruction but that won't be for a month or so. Basically I think I'm a bit scared... or am I being stupid? Any advice welcome... Thanks Paul
  17. I really wouldn't google it mate... you won't like what you find ... possibly look up fistula in a dictionary and go from there....:)
  18. Well, I've had an N/A and a TT and the N/A always felt more planted than the TT, I had the TT looked by Mike at MJP and all was working so I have to say a "tight ass"... in both ways too... LOL
  19. Yep... Got it, annoyed with, want it gone!!!!!! Spoke to you today about a particular car btw Jeff.. Was good to speak to you and thanks for the time!!!!!
  20. Back on topic... The dett sensor is there to protect the engine as i understand it mate. As si says replace the whole loom if you have the engine out as it could save you the cost of a rebuild...
  21. As a man with absolutley no artistic talent what-so-ever all I can say is those drawings and paintings are amazing... wish I could draw to half that level but I never will... Again Brilliant drawings mate!!!!:bow:
  22. No Worries mate, Glad you're sorted! I had autoguage guages in my last car and they seemed to work OK bt of a PITA to fit though... Not the best but quite good either way! I have to admit to never having used demon tweeks myself but I'm not to surprised, they seem to be liked by the Halfords Saxo crew though so maybe that's a clue lol... Next time I think I might go for mechanical guages, alot of people seem to recommend going down that route... any thoughts apart form them being a nightmare to fit!
  23. Sorry for the jumping in here but think Demon Tweeks sell quite a good plate... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/search.asp?keyword=Sandwich+plate&classCode=all&brandCode=all&x=23&y=5 Might do the job for you?
  24. Off to see them at the o2 in December. Never been a massive fan but the missus loves them so couldn't really say no! I'll have to buy the album now! Thanks for the recommendation!
  25. I've always wondered about the 'Fairlady' marque but it's really up to you; it wouldn't look out of place... Is there a potted history of the Fairlady heritage anywhere?
