  1. Showing my age a bit here but i remember one twirling around on a stand and the Brum Nec many years ago when they were spanking new.Liked them then but now mmm im not sure,it really is just a carlton that was tweaked, they handle like boats id imagine. The gsi3000 never handled that well so id imagine that wont either.Come to think of no Vauxhall did then. They always had a poor chassis compared to other cars.Anybody that owned an sri,gte or gsi from back in the day will know what i mean. With any performance Vauxhall then you just hung on for dear life when you gave it beans and it just rolled and lifted wheels as it pleased.
  2. They tried this on mythbusters and guess what, its a myth !!it didnt flip the car at all, just mangled and smashed the underfloor to bits.As you,d expect really Lol.
  3. i will be in touch bud as i said weather permitting.but yes i will meet at yours either way.
  4. Its not luck but state of tune matey,if i drive mine like i stole it.100 miles to a tank.Sensible spurts on the motorway with some bouts of 140 mph plus and i can get 260 miles on a tank.
  5. Ive returned 260 miles out of mine to a tank of fuel and im using 555 injectors and can drive quite "heavy" so it shouldnt cost you that much bud.
  6. Youll need sprocket adaptors and depending on the camshaft specs maybe hardened springs and retainers.Mild road grinds will be fine but some of the crazier profiles will need maybe vernier inlet sprockets or BDE ones and possibly with the really high lift profiles some head machining and solid lifter fitting.
  7. Hes already said he doesnt mind me using it,what a guy eh .Its the wheels,he was warned not to get them wet to often and id rather not drive it then anyway, few traction issues :scared:
  8. Im gonna speak to Madmax and see if the weathers good i can bring the crazy 50k + zed.
  9. Stourbridge.Just north of Kiddiminster.:winkiss:
  10. Has the flywheel been skimmed at all, seen some skimmed flat which reduces the covers clamping force.
  11. I found this on e bay, rare old car this,i remember seeing one at the Brum motor show in the 90,s.It was really out there when it came out.Be a nice investment for someone.Id hate to try and get parts for it though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180725097141&category=9834&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
  12. Yes bud get it on here if poss .
  13. Thats some nice figures but id be amazed if the car made 440ftlb or torque on a stage one chip.Im not saying your lying but the dyno is reading way to high a torque reading so id take that with a pinch of salt imho.Ive spent thousands on my engine and not made that amount of torque.417 ft lb is the best i could make with a custom map !!
  14. THe rebuild pics are amazing, great work,i love threads like this :gunsmilie:
  15. They are only good for sunken panels not proper dents or creases. The only fix then is a stud puller as mentioned.
  16. Hemi cuda, dodge challenger or a plymouth roadrunner perhaps, all classic v8 power houses.Or maybe a Cadillac fleetwood Brougham.8.2 Liters.very good in London traffic Lol
  17. THe main problem with small tubs is heat soak, once you really start to wind them up the charge temps soar,i know you have side mounts but you will find them very limiting, those tiny impellers will run out of puff very quickly.Ignore what the yanks say, there figures are tongue in cheek to say the least.A stock tubs life will shorten massively once you start running 15psi + also.
  18. Everyday car and v8 equals vxr8 or a cl 63,not classic yet but will scratch your v8 itch for sure.
  19. Lol,you read Viz too then years ago ha ha,i knew exactly what you meant by the "hatstand" comment
  20. That silver liner with the black arches,if i had to choose,id happily bludgeon my mother to death for it.its amazing :punk:
  21. Its probaly poor engine hygiene, left from the last car it came off or metal that was left in the oil cooler after a failure.
  22. Ok Matey,Im out all day with friends Sunday and wont be home till late.I can call you Monday evening.
  23. Your welcome matey,i hate to see people nailed by unscrupulous ****s.Im glad to help.I shall be watching this thread for updates.
  24. Pending approval,do they really think that "specialist" has enough money to sue someone then,i doubt it.How long has that engine ran for ? those pistons look rather black.
