  1. Im glad you posted this Dave as your comments could be quite damaging to me when you THINK about it really as i was in the care of a customers car who may be a good friend but still the very mention of me "laying rubber" could put many people off using me for work on their cars.I like a joke ffs but that one didnt split my sidestrings i have to say and boiled my p*ss last night after it was posted .
  2. Yeah i cut them at the bulkhead instead of trying to unthread the sodding thing.Engine bit is easy really, the bit behind the heaterbox is a pita honest. You got small hands ? youll need them.
  3. Yes a good meet people, nice to see some new faces and catch up with others.Maybe i will attend in mine soon, who knows. Thanks Murt for your efforts.
  4. I shall be at murts for 12 too.
  5. ok matey,will do.
  6. Reconnect it,unless you are running a boost controller it needs to be plumbed in to for the ecu to engage safety boost to protect the engine.
  7. Its one of the wastegate solenoid signal pipes, used by the ecu to reduce boost under safety conditions id say.Thats ther only small vac pipes around that vicinity.
  8. Love you too more though i promise :w00t:
  9. You sound like a patronising school teacher !
  10. I would have expected more to be honest. What was the afr on full boost ? you may need a new fuel pump or have fuel pressures issues.
  11. Sound chocolate then,id be well wary.Remember the warranty covers the turbos only. Not any other damage or removing the engine after.I used Turbo Dynamics for years and a basic rebuild was £300 each. And they are a reputable dealer ask Smithy on here.
  12. Is that £600 each?? have you checked.I was getting quotes of £750 each 5 years ago.And that depends if yours are any good. The biggest problem is the exhaust housing which cracks around the wastegate seat. The housings are hard to come by and ive seen several sets scrapped because of this.Id be wary of tubs rebuilt that cheap.
  13. A standalone system will always be better but if you wanted a q45 maf would run that or a doolz set up on a chipped ecu.If you have the AEM already then your committed really. If you dont then consider either a custom map or an Emerald system perhaps?
  14. Ahh yeh i see now the manifolds.Get the heads ported.makes a massive difference with bigger tubs too.Helps to get them spooling lower down the rev range. You could still permenantly run that on a custom mapped stock ecu if you wished though.
  15. can of worms there mate.Jesus i remember some threads back in the day regarding this subject, who was good or not.For the cost these days a set of hybrids with new cartridges can be bought for reasonable money from some stateside suppliers like Z1.
  16. Once you cut through the stuff that has no effect on engine performance it has not got a huge list of actual engine mods just bolt ons so prolly could be run on a stock ecu chipped probaly with a custom map.Id have gone for high flow exhaust manifolds and ditched the cams personally on that build. They can be added at a later date.
  17. Remember folks its almost sunday, not long to get yer excuses ready to drop out at the last minute as always
  18. cloudy and dry is good,no rain though. Its too nice to ruin in the rain.
  19. Well the army and forces now allow open gays in,so Mikey needs to leave the closet with the well knocked door from the inside i hasten to add and sign up again as Michelle Bean pmsl.
  20. In the Army during wartime ? you mad, youll be cannon fodder for sure, well you wont have to bath anymore will you if you get back in,army boys arent called "pongos" for nothing
  21. Been busy at Kwik fit making company targets, otherwise known as overselling parts to people that didnt actually need them,u use an oil can to squirt oil up the shrouds of rear shockers then show the customer how bad they are :tt2::whistling:
  22. Maybe he drowned ?? or got sucked down the plug hole
  23. This will work, just cut the ferrules off your old pipes that go into the master and slave, work out the amount of pipe you need and get the ends flared.Old style autoshops will do this for a few quid.Or offer a garage guy a drink to do it for you.
  24. Showing my age a bit here but i remember one twirling around on a stand and the Brum Nec many years ago when they were spanking new.Liked them then but now mmm im not sure,it really is just a carlton that was tweaked, they handle like boats id imagine. The gsi3000 never handled that well so id imagine that wont either.Come to think of no Vauxhall did then. They always had a poor chassis compared to other cars.Anybody that owned an sri,gte or gsi from back in the day will know what i mean. With any performance Vauxhall then you just hung on for dear life when you gave it beans and it just rolled and lifted wheels as it pleased.
  25. They tried this on mythbusters and guess what, its a myth !!it didnt flip the car at all, just mangled and smashed the underfloor to bits.As you,d expect really Lol.
