  1. Couldnt agree more, save yer money and get a quality lightened flywheel and underdrive pulley.Youll notice the earlier spool up from the tubs after fitting these. The 300 crank is quite well balanced anyway. Not many other v6 engines rev like it does straight out the box.
  2. I always knew what they were, pants sprung to mind.Soz but they are awful.keep the wasp ones and bin those, aluminium is high at the mo at SIMS metal.
  3. The switch iirc was on the centre console below the radio. It was a parking aid as already stated and fitted from new on jdm cars.
  4. Cf bonnets are notorious for bad fitment, look at the one on the 350 u posted earlier,it fits like a welly in a shoe box, look at the lines of the wing then look at the bonnet :pinch:
  5. Id be looking at head gasket with those problems, get a sniffer test done.Sounds like under light load its ok but pressurising under boost.
  6. He did say he had a new greddy timing belt fitted but as you say Paul other components may need doing if the last place didnt do the entire package.Jeff does keep all the timing belt associated components on the shelf as he does so many .
  7. Pump replacement is quite straight forward and the timing belt doesnt need touching, just make sure any antifreeze is cleaned off it.The biggest head ache is undoing the crank pulley bolt tbh. They can be quite tight unless you have an air gun.
  8. Your prolly right there,i wouldnt expect the owner to get it back either tbh.Straight in the tea coffers for that i bet.
  9. Sounding more like my dad by the day !!
  10. Its a shame but if you lose stuff these days you just dont expect to see it again do you.Jeez i sound old saying that :glare:
  11. Congrats Allan, patter of tiny feet eh,thats summit worth drinking for.as if you need an excuse :hammer:
  12. Went to a mates last night and got trollied. An hour after getting home i couldnt find my phone, rang it and it was switched off,so assumed the worst.Anyway my bed was calling so off i went.Rang taxi firm and they said to call in the evening when the evening shift started.Still no answer on my phone which in my experience means some pikey has found it.I was sure the only place it could be was the taxi and id sat in the front so it could not have been found by the next punter.Fuming i bit the bullet and went and bought a samsung phone on pay as you go.Then a bigger sd card as it only came with 2 gb.So left the Mall £180 lighter and in possesion of my new phone with no contacts on it.Rang the taxi firm who contacted the driver i could hear the conversation "did you find a phone in your cab last night" driver replied uhhhh oh yes i did,WTF !! I was fuming, was he hoping i wouldnt claim it ffs and then keep it :cursing: who turns a lost phone off ?? I was glad to retrieve it but had the **** not turned it off i could have saved myself £180.Ive never lost a phone in twelve years and was pissy as hell earlier with myself.
  13. Jesus if i thought you,d bought that !! hellfire :pinch: im glad its a joke :thumbup1:
  14. Its under the main engine fuses on the passenger side inner wing.
  15. Have you checked the "engine cont" fuse, all kinds of bizarre charging and warning light faults occur when it blows.its in the engine bay under the black plastic cover.
  16. Gary i agree i love a good well balanced discussion and would like to chat this one out in person. This is the original site and worthy of much admoration as you say
  17. Im feeling some quality patterns on those to match the wow factor, dig deep for some premium rubber to set them off :tt1: im dribbling at the thought. And get the pics up Gary !! asap !!
  18. I see your point but getting dragged in makes you no better,my mother always told me not to worry about what other people say and i trust her well guided opinion.Who cares anyway ?? Be bigger than that.we all get knocked from time to time and how you react shows what your made of.If i was a noob reading the them and us stories i would assume id logged on to a school versus school website and not some "adult car forum".
  19. Sexy new rims !! They are gonna look great wrapped in some nice tyres :cool3:
  20. Can i just say though as much as i understand the club trying to protect its interests the most hated banned "member" this probaly referred to and he is a massive "member" a huge one in fact is no longer involved and using the site as a fingers up to this one.So as car numbers and members dwindle maybe its more prudent we all read from the same hymm sheet and not adopt the "them and us" approach. This is my take on it and how i see it being an enthusiast for these cars.Maybe someone else has another take on this ??
  21. Unless you need the box out leave it in,there is no need to remove it to get the engine out,you will still need however to lower the front crossmember.
  22. Thats quite a crop !!! what varities have you got there Andy ?
  23. Any of you guys into hot food ?? i just made a new batch of chilli lilly, its a naughty little number i have to say and puts quite a zing in my sarnies. Its a traditional recipie i tweaked with cider and bids eye chillies and a drop or two of "one drop at a fuc*in time" hot sauce.Ive made boat loads this time and have given away jars to my mates.Im planning on doing some chilli pickled eggs for crimbo :sweatdrop:.
  24. Sorry i couldnt resist it :w00t: Tis good shes still going strong :cool2:
  25. Id love too have seen that.Bet it was quite scary !! all that engine shrapnell flying around. Its incredible when you think of the forces needed to shear and break cranks and puncture the block.
