Had my Z 3yrs now & luckily not had many probs with it. I'm thinking of doing some cosmetic work in summer (respray etc) but before I do that wanted to make sure it's mechanically sound. Want to get some new roof rubbers for it as well so was thinking of combining it all into one trip to zedworld / zcentre or similar. Just wanted advise on what's recommended to get checked out? I don't have any problems with it, runs smooth etc but just want to make sure it's all ship shape before I make it look pretty. I was thinking of starting with a compression test.. any suggestions??

...might be of interest to some? Nothing to do with me but it does look rather tasty! Not sure how true the 'one size fits all' description is though... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/titanium-gear-shift-knob-NISSAN-SKYLINE-200sx-300z-5spd_W0QQitemZ380211810861QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item588663d22d

Just had 1 of my wheels refurbed.and noticed when i called to the place he has split the wheel. On asking him if this is usual he replied that this was the easiest way but 1st 2 piece rim he has had. Whilst out with some mates last night and chatting about this one guy said make sure its gets put back together with silicone and torqued up correctly Also make sure they were not stretched bolts!! What should i ask him on my return? The spare wheels i gave him have came up amazing and will remove the other 4 off my car to give to him but should i be concerned? Dave

I've just become the proud owner of some R33 GTR rears to go on my 300zx. I am under the impression that they are simply a bolt on item. (With the possibility of needing a new brake line!) Is this correct? They come with discs and pads but I have read that they use the same disc and pad as the standard rear calipers... Now since i've read that, have I bought a pointless upgrade? Is it indeed the same setup that ive just paid money for? LOL Also want to do the Evo Brembo upgrade, spoke to a couple of people about this and basically I'm looking to have some brackets made to suit a 350z disc. There are a couple of drawings floating about does anyone have a definate…

Is it true that UK cars have adjustable dampers? Because if they do then why is there no mention of it in my owners manual? And if it is true, is it also true (as I've read on here) that you adjust them by pulling the handbrake up one click? (again why no mention in the handbook). I've tried it in mine, and I'm fairly sure I can feel a difference in the ride/handling, but I can't quite believe that any car manufacturer would seriously use the handbrake lever as the switch, so I wonder if I'm just telling myself there is a difference?

Hi, I have replaced my OEM radiator with an aftermarket bigger better unit and fitted a separate MOCOL oil rad unit for the purpose of stopping the Auto Tranny frying itself stupid. (I also have SAW which does not help!) What is the working oil temp for a TT AUTO Tranny and should I fit a (probably high temp) OILSTAT so that it gets up to speed first. I believe auto tranny oil is happy at around 140 degrees, but would like that confirmed by a guru. Thanks again. :tooth:

Hi, The TT has a small pathetic oil cooler - is it small because Nissan were happy to pump cold oil without an oilstat and a bigger oild cooler would have needed an oilstat - or is there a secret hidden oilstat somewhere that I do not know about? I have dumped the OEM oil-cooler and fitted a MOCOL and I have an OILSTAT (wax thermostat kicks in at 80 degrees) to fit but do not want to reinvent the wheel so to speak! :punk: Any help/advice appreciated.

Hi all, my speedo is playing up. Its well strange. I have had problems before in the past with speed sensors but that was with my old auto box. This time the speedo doesn't move. Then by magic it will move to about 15/20 mph and if i tap the cluster it will drop. Then if i drive a bit harder it will sometimes rise. Thing is though my steering never goes stiff like the old sensor problems. Its just got a mind of its own FFS:hammer: any ideas?? do you think the converter has gone (or going) plus the needle never sits at 0 mph when stopped. its at 5mph...

Guys Im really struggling with a few bits so would really appreciate someone letting me know what these pipes do? Basically there are two pipes that come up from the rear of the engine bay where the fuel pipes come in. One dives through the passanger side bulkhead near a wire that I believe is the brake pad sensor? the other contines to run along towards the front of the car. Thing is a whole lot of stuff has been deleted from this car and its making it very difficult for me to find out what things do or did because they removed the odd bit, stuck a hose on the odd bit, and blanked the odd bit. Nothing ever seems to have been completely deleted!!!.…
