HI All, Just joined the forum and bought my first 300zx over the weekend and have a few silly questions that i'm hoping someone will answer. It's a 1995 300zx fairlady Z with an Auto gearbox. 1- the Auto gearbox has a red plastic peice at the front? what's this for? 2- next to the gearbox is a button that says Power at the top and Hold at the bottom? What does this do? Bear in mind, i've just bought the car and didn't really want to press it not knowing what it did in case you have to do it at a certain time ie: before you engage gear. Changing gears. In an auto normally you can change down gears manually to gain more power to overtake etc. Wit…

Guys Where would you fit a second fuel pump? all I know is that it is in addition to the stock one to provide more volume but other than that I am clueless :sweatdrop:. Its nothing fancy just a 225lph one, I dont have any fancy pressure regulators or anything! Any pointers really appreciated.

Hi Guys Just fitting my new AP brakes, they are massive!! Wondering what's the best way of flushing old brake fluid out. wondered whether to allow all old brake fluid to run out of reservoir and brake lines. Then connect up to new brakes add new fluid in reservoir and pump through, or just keep pumping and topping up reservoir. My concern of allowing all fluid out of brake system is having air trapped. Already have instructions on bleeding brakes. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Regards Kev

Just about to put them back in the car as one lump. People have said you can do it on the drive with ramps! How low do I need the sub frame and how high to lift the car? Oh and wish me luck.

Guys My stoptech brake blueprint went to japan a few weeks ago so they could tell me if I could get a set of 18s. Unfortunately they have reccomended 19s so those will be the seven spoke titanium as the five spokes dont go above 18s. Anyhows do these sizes look sensible enough from rays? Hi Martin, These are the sizes that RAYS recommend. 57S-pro Front:19x85 ET35B 5-114 - £653.04 + vat each Rear:19x95 ET35B 5-114 - £655.15 + vat each Colour: RMC/Ti rim Delivery time: 8 to 10 weeks from initial order. To place the order we will require a 25% deposit. The 57pro is not available in 19”

Hi folks, The other day i was looking on the site, trying to find out if anyone else had issues with their short shifter being stiff and awkward to use. Finding that other had... but with no real answer to sorting it, i pulled mine and had a fiddle. The nylon bushes are quite plainly............CRAP ! so. I got some fine wet n dry and just gave the metal shaft a quick once over :thumbup1: to remove any build up. I then used a mix of both vaseline ( this is a help thread.... honest ! ) and silicone spray and reinstalled the bushes back into the shifter and put it all together. Its 100 % better little effort is needed to engage gears yet it fe…

Hi everyone! had problems with my zed missing/ cutting out when going from high revs to completely off the gas. changed the fuel filter, stripped down and checked the loom, cleaned up or replaced all the connections, checked the timing and it run perfect. then stopped for fuel and it started again. think its just down to not having any clips on the injector plugs and there vibrating loose? hears the thing, when its missing i get a lot of wobble from the steering wheel under braking which wasn't there when it was running properly.... any ideas????!! Problem no. 2, the fan in the roof runs with the ignition off, draining the battery, took it out but somthing is still li…

Hi people, Bad news this morning, i hit a deer doing 50 mph. Front bumper is smashed, right corner. The gap between the wing and bonnet looks bigger now,(hopefully it can be pushed back in a little). No other damage aparrent as yet, but i need to get the front bumper off to inspect, ie, intercooler, piping, etc. So, i need a new front bumper to start with. I remember so time back some posts about the 99 spec front bumper, and places that sell them. Does anyone know where the best place to get 1? Also, is it wise to paint first then fit? Can i fit myself, i seem to remember that these bumpers do not have any locating points/holes and they must be drilled. I am at wo…
