got a quote in rayleigh to sand my plenum in the places i cant reach with a bead blaster. Said he will do it for £20 however looking at the web gives me mixed results. Moost places say Bead blasting wont smooth any areas as it is not harsh enough :( can anyone comment if this is true or not and wether there is any other thing i can do or pay for to do the smoothing of the plenum ready for me to polish?

Hi guys, i have a tt auto and been offered a mint manual NA is it an easy job to swap over? Is there a write up somewhere or someone done it before, both cars running just need to replace a turbo,

right peeps need some help if possible i have an 02 bmw compact insured with direct line 6 years no claims fully comp cover ends next year jan and i have my partner as a name driver think she has about 3 years no claims now if i buy this z from ireland am gonna have to insure and i need the six years no claims but its on the beemer policy would i be beter getting my partner to insure the beemer put me down as a name driver and i insure the z this way i get to use my six years no claims oh yea direct line wont cover me for theft on the z unles its got imobiliser and a tracker all fit an imobilser but i aint fitting a tracker so will have to be with another comp…

Im looking at overhauling the front brakes with new pads and disks and new seals on the calipers. Where is best to get the repair kit? and will i need new pistons? Also what is a good set of disks and pads with out breaking the bank. Thanks

While being my usual cack handed self I managed to put a brass brush on my grinder through a wire on my fuel pump. :oops: The wire I broke is the float connection (red arrows point to the connections). It looks like its a simple job to solder a new wire in place. However, as its going to be sitting in/near petrol I'm a little bit worried that I might inadvertently create a massive fuel bomb, which would be a bit of a downer :no: So should I just replace the wire or replace the whole pump?

I've got a set of fully working stock z32 brake calipers and want to sell them to recoup some other costs for the car. I think I remember hearing/reading somewhere that the 200sx boys use our calipers as upgrades for their cars....is this right?? Couldn't find anything to prove this on the net and sxoc doesn't seem to have a members for sale section?? Anyone have any idea how much they would/should go for? They come with pretty new ebc red stuff pads all around.... ...haven't put up a for sale thread on here or anywhere else yet, just trying to decide what to do with them. Cheers

I need these sizes please, im pretty sure the oil tree is 1/8npt which isnt really big enough to fit the Accusump. Oil cooler pipes may be big enough but will require a check valve. Anyone happen to know if theres a 1/2npt thread port in the oil system on a z32?

Hi, recently brought a n/a fairlady z, 1994 model which was just converted to manual from auto. Just wondering if the previous owner changed the ecu to a manual one, or if the auto engine ecu will work one as it is, Just looking at chips for the ecu and they clearly state manual or auto. cheers for help, ill try get some numbers from old ecu today

Hey all my engine check light has started to flicker not as in a fault code flash but more like a raver flicker ! Any ideas? Car is running fine tho :)

SORRY I MEAN BHP ok, now im getting my car back on the road next tuesday im looking at cleaning the car up inside the car and inside the engine bay. looking to remove the engine next year and make engine and bay look pretty and upgrade a few parts should i get hold of parts seperately or get the Z1 powerpack from the US? if i get parts seperatly what should i get? i'm guessing, New Loom, boost controller, Twin exhaust (decatted), Injectors,? will i need pistons and Cometic Gasket? trying to gauge what i need to loan next year to get a decent upgrade

I've got a 1989 jspec TT and wanted to change the front and rear speakers. I've looked at a few threads and it seems that 6.5 inch speakers should fit in the doors. I wanted to check if this is definately the case as I've measured the cover and it's only 8"x5.5". I didn't want to take the door trim off till i'd ordered and got the new ones. Thanks in advance.

What the best substance to remove all the green corrosion from the conectors, some are really bad like injector plugs? cheers James

alrighty peeps looking into buying a 300zx tt its got no history other than a recipt for exedy clutch and 18 inch alloys the car has done 70k so i have to assume its not had the cam belt done so gonna have to do never done one on a z have done a few belts on 8v and 16v last being a celica what other things are best to change when you have the belt off ? new tensioner water pump ? anything else just trying to factor in the cost of evrything

been a bit busy today and started doing my plenum as i couldnt find no-one else who would do the work (even offered good money) i can see why no one else wants to do it though but here are some pics so far.......... as you can see i still got lots to do and still got to use paper with more grit than 240. (got various grades up to 1200) but i am excited that it is coming together :)

Been painting the removable panels of my car this weekend and had a problem with the top coat all was fine on the door untill i put the last coat on and ran out of clear, quickly mixed some more and then carried on on the panel. suddenly i got a reaction and the clear coat wrinkled a little. not sure but i think it may have messed up the base coat. using 2k clear over a metalic black base. i know its my own stupid fault but this is my first spray job and im learning. im going to flat it down and polish an area tosee if the metalic is effected. Am i best assuming it has reacted down to the base to flat it off and give i light base coat followe…

Hi all, I've currently got the boot totally empty as im working on something else, but whilst I'm here I was thinking about the rear speakers. It does have a titchy set of ovals (4x6??) at the moment, and I can understand why, as the space is very limited with the current speaker bracket. So I was just wondering what people had done to over come this, are there brackets I can just buy and fit to enable a 6x9 set up lower down for example, or have people made their own boxes/brackets? Hi folks, Just bought a 1996 TT auto and wondered what the box on the left is next to the ecu ? My zed doesn't have cruise which I thought this box could be, Any ideas?

I dont think this is the worst of problems but i thought id get a heads up from you guys. I Think my dampers are either going or completly gone, what i have when going over pot holes or fast round a corner where the ground isnt level my car sways from left to right and somtimes i get a weird sensation my car starts crabbing for a second when i go over some, anyone have any ideas? i was just browsing through zeds for sale, (as you do) and seen this one on PH. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1893753.htm i cant imagine why anybody would do a single turbo conversion? surley it would cost alot more due to intake issues and custom pipe work, plus re-mapping etc.. its very high powered by-the looks of the dyno, but still, why? i can only imagine thatitwas a N/A and that he's slaped one turbo on it?? what do you lot think??

Need to get some rust repair done on the ns sill and rear arch and on the os rear arch. Can anyone recommend anywhere/anyone to do the work? Preferably in the south (I'm in London) but I guess most importantly, I want to be able to trust the workmanship and not get ripped off... Need to get this done pretty soon too... Cheers guys

Finally got the engine bay painted and would you believe my neighbour looked over after i,d painted it and asked what colour i was having it :headvswal:headvswal:headvswal I,ve deseamed the front section of the innerwings and modded the O/S to take a different P.S pot . Gonna try and get the engine and box back in next weekend !!
