Surely no-one's car is 'perfect'... so spill the beans and tell us all what problems your Z currently has - big or small :cursing::cursing: Do not include servicing and basic maintenance, or bodywork issues. We may even be able to help each other if someone has a problem that you've had before, or vice versa. Currently - my gearbox is whining and making funny crunching noises occasionally... I have a replacement sat in the garage along with a Z1 Lightweight Flywheel & Exedy Paddle Clutch ;) My car 'winks' when you flash the headlights, so that needs sorting (bulb is ok) ;) Central locking doesn't unlock the passenger door, but it does have an …

ok a bit of a tuning question... I'm currently running a pair of 2.5" split/divorced downpipes which are supposed to help turbo spool up by allowing exhaust gas to exit faster. I'm upgrading my exhaust to a 3" system all the way through and have put in an order for a pair of matching 3" split downpipes from the same manufacturer as the exhaust. However I've been offered a pair of AMS 3" expansion downpipes which are a bit cheaper (makes no difference) but are also supposed to help make bigger power by their special 'expansion' design, whatever that is... So my question is, which to go for - split downpipes from same manufacturer as rest of zorst, or AM…

The plan was to sell my n/a manual zed (which i am going to anyway) and put the cash towards getting a bmw x5, then in a few years get a real nice TT MANUAL, ive had 3 zeds now, all average condition, 1st n/a auto then TT Auto, Then n/a manual (current one), TT manuals are too pricey at the moment for me, expecually when i want a tidy modern 4x4 (x5), However, a mate called me today and said he'd bought his auntys TT Manual as it got broken into last week and the gits had the turbo pipes with dump valves, the alloys (which were really nice) and the stereo, anyway she had lost her driving licence last year and lost her job this year, and with the recent thiefing i t…

Hi Having removed the EGR and blocked the EGR feed port on the 'manifold'! - I am now looking for a mount hole/point for my AFR - is the EGR port (I assume) too close to the action to be usable for AFR - or any other useful measurement/sensor? I already have changed/upgraded the 'zorst'' up to the manifolds and I will have to remove one of the downpipes and drill it out/weld a new bung for the AFR if the above is a no-no, which I suspect it will be. As a side question - has anyone used the port for anything useful at all?

I've replaced the 4 speakers in my car today. The sound is a big improvement, which was not surprising when I saw the state of the original speakers. It lacks a bit of bass though, which I would think is down to the small size of the speakers. The previous owner had a new boot floor made with a sub in, so I thought I might as well use it. I have an amp and was going to bridge it, to power the sub. The stereo has 6 phono outs. 5 speakers and one marked sub. I assume I just run the one marked 'sub' to the amp? Does this have to be split in two in order to bridge the amp? I hope this makes sense! Any help much appreciated.

can;t decide between the dash mounted triple gauge or a Triple Pillar Gauge set. I often think the Pillars look cheesy and the thought of hitting them with my head made me think the dash V2 from zcentre would be more subtle and look better. What do you lot think would look better? Dash Mounted V2 from zcentre painted to my cars colour? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=155&category_id=73&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 or Triple Pillar Gauge set? http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.s-tuningparts.com/shop/images/300zx%2520pod.jpg&imgrefurl=http…

Just been looking through some pictures I have taken along the way, had her 3 years now, but was working away for about a year of that, breif history : I bought her, quite cluelessly as I didn't know Zeds then, with apparently a crackered turbo, smoking alot from one side, turned out to a rather large hole in piston no. 4, so it's been a graft, but lots of fun and learning re-building her, also pretty much everything had been broken or bodged, well that's where my OCD came in and worked a treat! Manual conversion too, everything done by me and my Dad... She's all lovely now, just thought I'd share some pics from the years, couldn't have done it without you guys (and gals)…

Just a quick question about KOYO rads This is a KOYO that I bought a while back, is there some sort of extra engraved plate or something that I'm missing off the top of it? Every other KOYO rad that I've seen fitted on FD's/GTR's etc have been engraved with the KOYO brand logo as opposed to just sprayed in blue and red spray paint. Any ideas? It wasn't outrageously expensive but at the same time it wasn't exactly cheap at £260

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=139352 Remember that problem I was having? Well finally got round to doing something about we and came up with this: Thanks to BLACK-HAWK for this. As it was a (typically) STUNNINGLY beautiful day, we had to make a water feature to try and test it, see below... After about 5 hours of that I drove home with no problems, and today it was an absolute monsoon so I decided to further test it and no problems whatsoever. Very happy Zed'der again :)

You might remember the post a couple of weeks back of a rusty arch that seemed to have had some sort of repair in the past with a skim of filler covering all of the rear O/S quarter as far as I dared to removed paint. Well I set to cleaning up the sills a few days ago as JeffTT pointed out a while ago at an initial assesment the rear sills need treating before they got any worse I discovered this on the rear N/S: Deep filler covering a severe dent in the sill next to which is a previous repair - with rust all around it as you can see and as I removed the filler enough water to make a puddle of water on the drive came out of the sill . I was hoping to get …

What is the "normal" gap between the top of the 16" stock uk wheels and the rear wheel arch with standard springs? Need to know if I've put enough weight in the boot before I can do the final torquing of the rear axle bits. Cheers Dave
