Can you overhaul the front calipers without fitting a new seal kit? i.e. re-use the originals?

Or as they are correctly called, 'direct fire coils, on fire, in the engine bay'. This phenomenon occurred whilst I was driving last night, accompanied by an acrid smell of burning plastic and was preempted by running on 5 cylinders. Be warned! I have (had) all new connectors, it appears there must have been an internal short or something. Not much left of the coil pack but at least I could light my fag without getting my lighter out whilst I contemplated how to extinguish it :-\. As it turned out a 'birthday cake' blow was enough to put it out. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone got a spare connector they would care to sell me please? Cheers H

At first i thought it was Tony B, but then i realised he moved back up north. It was a Green LWB with some really nice sounding exhausts, had a A piller with Gauges in and 99 Spec rear lights with the table top Spoiler. His reg started with TIL. This was near the Hilton Hotel on the dual carriage way behind if it you get what i mean.

can someone recommend some speakers that fit in the doors? Some wally fitted in 6x9's before i bought it and they are too deep and hardly seat in properly? not too worried about rear speakers as i dont think they are too bad, i think the front could do with an upgrade though

As above i can get hold of some MDF really easily via family but can anyone recommend where to get the rest of the materials? i'm guessing i need some sort of carpet some glue or staples? i will also be putting in a LED 300zx logo that lights up in the boot area at night just for myself so i can have a bit of fun. I have a few ideas and designs, some tacky and some quite good but basically i am wishing to get either an LED strip and design it into a funky 300zx logo on the boot floor or cut it into the floor. gonna try some ideas out and see if it ends up too tacky!

Just clicked over my 1st 1000miles in my Zed tonight  Not a massive milestone, but a sweet one. Finished upgrading my stereo and speakers so went for a drive, reached the milestone whilst the ipod had chosen to play a set a mate of mine did in Ibiza a couple of summers ago. Life is all good in my hood

Well, i've had my stock bumper modified. had Car mad vents put in with ultra bright LED's for sidelights at the back of them then had them blended in with the front bumper. Spent a lot of time and money and i have to Admit................i'm not that keen on it. :( Might have looked better on a darker colour car like black maybe. It's grown on me since i first seen it but i may still be in the market for a new one. Perhaps 99 spec. At least this is a custom one off bumper though that no one else will have. Peter

I got a young lad who works at a specialised VW garage to change the pads and discs on the zed today. He does all the work on my Scirocco. I was running a session at the local sports centre and on my way back to the centre i buzzed him to see if he had done the car, he had and came to meet me at the sports centre. He got out of the car with a glint in his eye, and i quote "...f**k me Paul, I have got to get me one of these..... I mean i've been in some fast cars , but that just takes the p*ss..." It was at that point that i pointed out to him that she was still in lazyboy mode, i.e. overdrive not on and not in power mode. He then said that he would do any m…

todays job was to remove the water temp sensors and give them a good clean up . the connecters were shot and full of crap . the wiring was very hard and brittle so i cut it back about 3 inches . the core of the wire was still nice and supple so just crimped in a new section and replaced the original plugs with insulated spade connecters . ive now got nice clean rock solid connections on both senders .i just put a blob of silicon on top of the spades to keep everything nice and water tight . cost of job was about £1 . a very easy mod and im pretty sure this is gonna be a big help in getting her running nice and smooth.
