  1. Spent a couple of hours earlier today, washing, waxing and polishing the zed. Then went for a spin into town to see the local League of Ireland football club Sligo Rovers actually beat Everton 2 - 0 (Ok they were probably the Everton reserves !). Anyhow afterwords it was getting dark, went to drive the zed home and no dips, rear lights, parks or illumination of the clock clusters. I guess I blew a fuse when I was reconnecting the rear fog lamp switch (probably incorrectly) after I had been swapping clock clusters. I had to leave the car in town, so will collect it tomorrow in the bright. Assuming its a simple thing of the problem being a fuse, can anybody point me in…

Months of not working on the zed, what with new baby and doing up the house. Had a play with the zed over the weekend and now runs on 6 and sound sweet. Not yet put on the exhaust and have noticed oil coming out of the manifolds, nice puddles on the floor. Is this engine rebuild time???

Spent the last two weeks doing a diy refurb on my alloys they came with my zed from Japan and are about 15 years old and starting to show there age so with plenty of wet and dry paper started to sand them down.removed all the bolts first and thought about spliting the rim but they are 3 peice and didnt want to break the seal with the tyres so did not split them. Give them a good sanding with a medium then a fine wet and dry paper then polished up with metal polish they ended up ok but will need professionally done over the winter as the inside of the cross spokes were very hard to do and still look untidy anyway first two pics are how they used to look and the rest after.

  7. Started by Sussex stu,

Having just got back from a nice week in Cornwall, i went to the zed today, just to make sure she is good. Having started on first turn, i look through the windscreen to see loads of paw prints on the bonnet. Looking closer its not just paw prints, but due to the fact the zed has loads of polish on her, it is very clear that the cat could'nt grip, And has slid down the bonnet, leaving some lovely scratch marks the length of 3/4 the bonnet. Poxy animals, dont get me wrong, i love all animals, but some pussy cat is going to be spoken to by two dogs, if i see it near my zed ever again. FOOKERS!!!!!!!!!!! Dont know if you can make these out, but it gives an idea ho…

Hi matey, Am i right in thinking you have evo front calipers with 350z discs? If so, did you use the original evo brake lines, they fit to the 300zx brake attachment end (if you know what i mean)? Cheerz matey, Al. (Tried to pm you but you are a registered user)

  10. Coming out of the hole in the ECU housing was a wire with a switch on the end?? I pulled it all apart and found the aftermarket chip that had been wired in by either Apache or whoever he bought it off, (I didn't even consider that it would have been installed within the ecu..) and this switch was wired in on three of the terminals, but I have no idea what its likely to be used for.. What is this? could it be for turning off the chip? or switching between two modes maybe? or could it even be used for turning on mode 2 on the ecu without having to pull up all the boards and carpet, and just look at the engine light for the code....? cheers Sky

  12. Hi guys ... just a check over me zed this avro to see what needs doing for MOT, basically its gonna be: 1x Head light bulb 1x Rear fog bulb 2x pair of rear pads 2x rear shocks 1x rear wheel lug 3x new wiper blades all round 2x new front tyres (groan) I suppose the tyres are ok for time being as I'll just put me stock wheels on whilst I source some new tyres for my alloys & get them refurbed, but I've had this tracked twice and it still pulls slightly to the left which is probably where the excessive wear on the inner side front passenger tyre has come from, suspect it's been toeing out, so gonna have to get the geometry looked at properly, tyre…

what are my options to make them look a little better? i know new ones can be bought, but what are waiting times like, i'd also assume i'd be better fitting them before a respray. anyone had them sprayed? how did they turn out? anyone removed them and had the gap smoothed in? pictures would be nice for a real idea. this is there current situation [/img] zooms not that great, but you can see the chrome shinning through, and the targas look even worse. all oppinions appreceated!

I don't want to break or warp this roof trim on the slicky but have looked and please will someone tell me how these come off. Have removed the end bung and I am still baffled. :confused1: I will be having autoglass round and I want to prepare the car in readiness for his or her arrival for a replacement windscreen. :thumbup1: They also need a coat of paint and I want to clean in the roof channel where they sit. Thanks in advance, Andy.

Hi all, When I bought my '98 300 it had the HID mod so both were on with main beam. This was cool for a while then started playing up over bumps, then eventually the mod stopped working. Seeing as bouncing the front end/hitting the bumper would make it work/not work I guessed a relay was playing up. I've found out just about every HID / dipped light mod guide, and they all talk about shorting one of the relays or adding another. I don't have an extra relay nor one with a short so my mod must be different??!??! I'm trying to track down the original mod in my wiring (I started thinking it could be around the switchgear or something) to make sense of it …

Im looking to get the seats redone and im going to do the rest of the interior at the same time. Ive always wanted to go blue and black interior. just fitted some new wheels today . as a precaution i went to my local wheel shop to check out the nuts that were on the car . it turned out that they were not seating properly and were infact dangerous . new nuts and hey ho the jobs a good un. it just made me wonder how many other members could be running with the wrong type of nuts on their alloys . it only takes a few minutes to get them checked and could prevent a catastrophic accident . well worth getting them checked for the peace of mind .
