(Yes i no, but im young and as much as i love the car...the fuel and insurance is slowly killing me) Jeff at zedworld said it was an expensive one but i dont remember what actual type he said it was... any input would be good thanks...

Was giving the Zed a wash and hoover at the weekend and noticed the driver's side carpet was a bit wet. I put this down to a slightly leaky targa seal and plenty of rain we'd had recently. I dried the carpet with a cloth and then left the mat out and the roof off to help it dry out, but when i went back to check progress it was still damp.. It was only after trying to dry for a second time that I realised the more force I used to dry the carpet, the wetter it got.. On closer inspection I found that there was actually a puddle sat underneath the carpet that had soaked into the insulation. I stripped off the plastic trim and peeled back the carpet only to find a small …

I bought a clock cluster set from a member on here and unfortunately the speedo doesn't work. It was taken from a scrapper/doner car. All the other guages work perfectly. I did a search here and most suggest resoldering the dry contacts. As I know nothing about the circuits and contacts on the back of the clock, what type of professional should I bring it to check the contacts and do whatever soldering that is required. Its a 300kph clock and I'd hate to bin it as I was looking for one for quite a while. In fact it was my plan to get the white Led's done on this, with the Pod's etc over the winter with Groover (if the service will be still offered then). Also ha…

When my Dec 93 NA 2+2 developed a misfire on cylinder #6, I learnt a lot more about injectors than I ever wanted to know. In about 48 hours. I pass this on in case it's useful to anyone else. The original fault appeared to be a break in the wiring. That was traced and fixed but still the injector didn't come back. The informed opinion is that the arcing across the break as the original fault got worse caused the injector itself to fubar. There are two types of injector: early and late; or Phase 1 and Phase 2 on some websites. The changeover was late 1993 or "model year 1994". Someone with access to FAST like Mr F will be able to tell you from your VIN for c…

7 days from paying for them, these little puppies came from hong kong [/img] (apologies for the sideways picture) but in the instructions, it mentions somthing about a relay. I was under the impresion that i just plugged the old light fitment into the balast, and stick the new bulb where the old one went and away i go. not that i'm afraid of a little extra graft, i just don't wanna go breaking stuff! [/img] anyway is anybody able to shed some light on this for me? much appreciated.

after doing a lamda sensor test a while ago (the first of many) it read that my left side sensor had failed and was reading lean. however the right side one read perfectly. After doing a gas test, both sides are reading pretty much the same with "lamda 1" on both! therefore it would seem that they are both ok. but why does my ecu try to tell me otherwise?

Got a £560 Quote and thought it was good but then i reliased i chose EU spec Import. Now i know that my car is a Japanese Import but what defines a EU spec import? A car that is EU built or a car imported that is accepted by EU standards? Seeing as they are pretty much the same car minus a few details would any Jap cars come under EU import? I thought ALl of the zeds were imported one way or another anyway?

Im glad I had the engine compression tested before committing to taking the lump out for a turbo refurb, 1,2 and 3 are fine... 4 and 5 are down 40% 6 is down 45%!! I cant afford to get my engine rebuilt, so im guessing my only other option is another engine then do the turbo rebuild... it looks like the engine's gotta come out anyways! :crying: Does anyone have an engine for sale?? *sighs*

Hi, well I thoght my zed was not as fast as it should be?, friend came over at weekend and we did as much testing as we could and the max boost I can record on my greddy in car system is 5psi. He thinks it may be the actuators? I do remember when I bought the car some 4 years ago it had new turbos and a partial rebuild with 555 injectors put in to cope with what I was told was an engine upgrade (no paper work at all on what was done sorry). And I do remember being told that the turbos would need adjusting after 2-300 miles or so to allow the engin to bed in or something. That adjustment has never been made so it may be something to do with that. Any ideas guys p…

Spent a couple of hours earlier today, washing, waxing and polishing the zed. Then went for a spin into town to see the local League of Ireland football club Sligo Rovers actually beat Everton 2 - 0 (Ok they were probably the Everton reserves !). Anyhow afterwords it was getting dark, went to drive the zed home and no dips, rear lights, parks or illumination of the clock clusters. I guess I blew a fuse when I was reconnecting the rear fog lamp switch (probably incorrectly) after I had been swapping clock clusters. I had to leave the car in town, so will collect it tomorrow in the bright. Assuming its a simple thing of the problem being a fuse, can anybody point me in…

Months of not working on the zed, what with new baby and doing up the house. Had a play with the zed over the weekend and now runs on 6 and sound sweet. Not yet put on the exhaust and have noticed oil coming out of the manifolds, nice puddles on the floor. Is this engine rebuild time???

Spent the last two weeks doing a diy refurb on my alloys they came with my zed from Japan and are about 15 years old and starting to show there age so with plenty of wet and dry paper started to sand them down.removed all the bolts first and thought about spliting the rim but they are 3 peice and didnt want to break the seal with the tyres so did not split them. Give them a good sanding with a medium then a fine wet and dry paper then polished up with metal polish they ended up ok but will need professionally done over the winter as the inside of the cross spokes were very hard to do and still look untidy anyway first two pics are how they used to look and the rest after.
