Driving home from work today, every time I touched the brake pedal the hicas light came on. At first I thought low fluid and momentum, but it was definantly the electrical connection. In addition my dash lights dimmed as well, also quite often the aftermarket gauges would reboot (fed from stereo ign power and Lx) and a couple of times the stereo rebooted too. I got almost home, literally as reversing on to my drive all electrics cut out, like totally (even the electric ariel didn't go down) and stayed dead. After about 10 minutes of manouvering it by hand (steering is so heavy when off) back on to the road (so I can use other car tommorow) it just all came bac…

  6. I have been working on a replacement end cap for the quarter window moldings for our cars. The ends of these moldings are covered by the weather stripping of the quarter window originally but these are sometimes torn and missing (as mine were), especially when the moldings have been removed, either for replacement with Kuruma Z items or when someone is refinishing their OEM moldings. This means you are left with a pretty ugly looking end of the trim and quite a large gap to the hatch, with a cut angle on the end of the molding which does not follow the angle of the hatch lid either. My design covers the cut of the molding, fills most of the space back to the hatch lid and…

  7. Not my photo - these Z1 Disco boxes are out for Beta testing on a select few cars and should be available in the next few months. Good news for everyone that wants a selin but doesn't want to spend £1000 on one!

  10. 1993 300zx NA previously bought and brought back to SC from FL. 8 hour drive completely fine. Car has 108k miles 5 speed and was running no problems before I did my egr delete and coolant delete. Originally I never wanted to do plenum deletes but after having a leak in my valve cover gaskets I decided to do it all together. And just taking the plenum off was really hard because of coolant lines. I the leak wasn’t really bad I just wanted to make my car all nice and mint before slammednuff this year. Ok so anyways I begun with taking the plenum off which took me like a day after I got it off I took all the coolant line off then re routed the 4 lines closer towards the fire…

Not kidding, The supplier i purchased my original ECU from over 5 years ago cocked up someone elses order and sent it to me. Likely about 2K in Parts. I've contacted Link via another supplier to check the serial number on the ECU and now i'm awaiting instructions. Shame its for a S13, what a waste as i could have upgraded mine to the latest model.

I've just bought some new wheels and I'm unsure what tyres I'll need, id like to go as wide as possible. I've looked through lots of old posts but this has just made me more confused. The new wheels are- 8 x18 et 32 front 9 x 18 et 38 rear I have tein coilovers, so i can adjust ride height and damping.

I got around to test fitting one of the Kuruma Z window moldings and they don't appear to fit flush to the body, nor can I make them do so. I hate the gap. Has anyone else fitted these and found the same or managed to remedy it? Ignore the dusty car - clearly been in my garage too long. Kuruma: OEM:

  17. Started by lostzed,

Hi, first time post! Looking for any ideas on tracing a past 300zx. Owned a 1990 TT Japanese import to the uk. Had to sell through circumstances however car was never taxed after my sale. Today after a bit of bored afternoon digging a came across a data check advising car was marked as exported from the UK. I do still have the chassis number, but my question is does anyone have any info on how to dig further and possibly find out where the car went. Long shot I know but any ideas other than Google would be great 👍

  18. Started by CaramelKaiteki,

Hey guys, So I recently bought a 300ZX Z32 (pics in the Newbie part) It refused to start so I been checking everything from the relay to the fuel filter to the fuse etc. So I then started to check the fuel pump as I didn't hear it engage when I put the car on contact. Turns out there's no signal wire connected to the fuel pump. So I'm like, okay, let's see if we can find the wire and then just connect it. I took out all the rear panels in the car and even the rear seat to check where the wire might be, and... I am missing my FCPU and pretty much all wiring towards the rear (for all the rear lights, which hadn't been working either but I hadn't checked yet…

  22. Hi all, been a while since I last posted, been busy with bits on pieces on the Z as always. My Z was sat on a drive for 15 years before I got it so paint has always been a niggle for me, laquer peel and poor paint throughout. Bit by bit slowly accumulated some nice bits of bodykit and finally got round to spraying the whole lot to throw on. Now I can’t work out if I’m a fan of the bonnet really so I do think I’m going back to OEM for that. Otherwise it’s starting to look something like what I’m going to be happy with… many many more hours later😁 Also taken this opportunity to revamp the front end some more with fully stripped back bottom arms, new OEM bot…

I think i need a new battery as the one i have doesnt seem to be holding the charge for all that long and i now believe that my spark issues and ecu resets are down to the voltage at crank dropping to low. What do you all recommend i should be looking out for and whats the largest battery dimensions that fit ?

Hi All, Long term member, looking to get back into the saddle againt. So...I've found this example. I've done some basic investigation: It has done 60kish miles in approx. 10 years. This does not put me off as I am not looking for a "garage queen". There is a fair bit of "red ink" in the MOT history mainly for "Exhaust carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle exceeds manufacturer's specified limits (8.2.1.2 (a))" and "Exhaust lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (8.2.1.2 (c))". There are also some suspension bush warnings. This does give me cause for concern. I know it is "cheapish" at 9k, but I am prepared to…
