What's best silenced or non silenced de cats for my turbo? It has a 3" cat back with 5" back boxes so don't want it to spoil the sound but don't want it any noisier?

The exterior roof trims on my ZX could do with taking off the black Vinyl like material and showing the chrome or taking off and replacing. Its thetwo off roof trims (the small lengths to the rear of the roof) plus the two targa panel trims and the windscreen pillar trims. They are the only bit of my motor that externally doesn't do it any favours. How are they removed? Are they held by clips or screws etc? Ta in advance

Has anyone used DP Motorsport for alloys and tyres? They seem pretty good value and their feedback is exceptional. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/DP-MOTORSPORT-CAR-MOD-S/_i.html?_nkw=300zx&submit=Search&_sid=99025700 What do you think? Is it worth seeing if we can get a member discount or are there other suppliers that are already associated with our club that offer an equivalent service?

I've got a slight missfire / rough running problem on my TT. It only happens on a very light throttle, such as when maintaining a constant speed. If I put my foot down a bit more, the car runs fine. I've cleaned most of the connectors, the MAF sensor and the throttle bodies. Any one got any ideas?

My wheels that are on just now are running 235/35 front and 265/30 rear but I could be doing with putting my other 19's on for winter. The winter wheels are in need of a new set of boots, but im unsure as to what size to go for! What is everyone else running that runs 19's? Just now im looking at 245/35 and 275/30 on the principle of price mainly! Ideally I'd love 40's front and rear for them but at £240+ a tire

I hadn't used my ZX for about 4 weeks so I decided to take it for a run this morning. It fired up immediately (I had barely turned the key) and with no knocks or rattles....... I had originally intended to go to Sainsbury's and back - about a 15 mile round trip - but I was enjoying myself so much that I just kept driving. I ended up covering 50 miles!!! It made me remember how great a car the 300zx is and how much I missed driving it. So when we go out for the day tomorrow, I think I know which car we'll take..... Richard:cool3:

My car came with a oil temp gauge. what is the ideal temp it should be showing? as mine can fluctuate between 85 and 96. it does have a dodgy connection somewhere as well as it can suddenly jump to 115 or 125, but then if you tap it it drops back down to around 80 to 90.

You need 20mm diameter, a 20mm collar bit and the overall length to not exceed 38mm and this one fits the bill :thumbup1:

Ok guys, Need you to poll with your brains not the heart. Problems with the car at the moment are as follows.... 1. Flooded (water half way up doors) 2. Corroded rear brake lines (needs replacing, rear subframe out job) 3. Finish off leaking rocker cover job. Thats the major jobs anyway, over and above that it will need a respray and a few niff naff jobs. Need some help what to do really, Jimmer summed it up in the below thread. Your help is needed. 17. Well, managed to get to the water pump today thanks to MadMax lending me his pulley puller. Found my leak coming from the lower hole in the housing due to bearing failure. a bit strange as the old one still rotated very well and there was no play, but the dried water marks spoke volumes so to speak. anyway thought id hunt for the source of the problem as i had recently tightened the belt to the power steering pump. but ruled this out as it was leaking before that. So decided to check the fan as hadn't really paid attention to it. it was split in two places where it had been previously over tightened onto the clutch. obviously this would unbalance the fan causing vib…

Hi everyone, In a quest to try and get this build finished ive been trying to buy the parts needed or solve the problems ive come across before i start work on her again. Having rear 350z Brembo calipers ive got to modify the rear hub lugs to fit the caliper. The lugs are only out by about 10-15 mm so brackets are not an option. Which means the lug on the hub would have to be either cut off and relocated or the bolt whole filled and the lug fabricated so its wider and a new bolt hole drilled to match. Im not sure if either of the above are a safe way of fitting these so im thinking of scraping the whole idea and buying say Evo 7-8 Calipers. What do you th…

Hi all Just rung up a wheel alignment place who have a Hunter Hawkeye machine. (Supposedly the current best in the market). He says he can do all wheel alignment for me but it would have to be factory settings for the 300. He can override them but said I would need to give him settings. Anyone know here what settings I would give him? Car is lowered by 30-40mm, Running Powertrix rose jointed front lower adjustable arms, spacers of about 3" (will check later) on rear, running Antera 309's (265? rear - 225? front). HICAS Eliminator fitted. Again can check all settings later on. Or can anyone recommend someone who could look at the car and do a …

  22. The idea is to try to capture the Tyne Tunnel Run this weekend from my point of view. Was just an idea to see if it'd work, I used the seatbelts to anchor two if the tripod legs to the back seat as you can see in the image and a cable tie to secure the leg at the front to the seatbelt arms on both the front seats, the whole thing seems very tight and secure free from movement, I'm hoping with the two tripod legs being on the back seats it'll take the shock and minimise vibration or shaking. I'm going to give it a test run Saturday morning to see if it'll work ok without any shaking etc, if it does shake or vibrate about then I won't bother. If it does work …

Right, has anyone ever removed the spindle that runs through the front throttle housing? I am guessing that those 3 indents on the edge of the casting are perhaps holding the main bush/insert in place? Is it a case of just grinding off the tab on the indent and then pressing out the bush? :hammer: I need to get this out as the being steel it will not go through the Anodisng process. cheers

I'm getting confused by this water bypass thing. I have been following the Aussie owners club bypass and so far so good :thumbup1: I thought I'd finished when I put the bypass pipes in place but they don't match the pics that Jeff put up? PS. Don't worry about the vacumn piping, I know what I'm doing with that  The only pipes I have removed are the throttle water pipes that ran under the plenum. This is the picture of what I've done regarding the actual bypass (new pipes in red). Drivers side Passenger side Have I done this correctly? :helpsmilie:
