Hi all Just rung up a wheel alignment place who have a Hunter Hawkeye machine. (Supposedly the current best in the market). He says he can do all wheel alignment for me but it would have to be factory settings for the 300. He can override them but said I would need to give him settings. Anyone know here what settings I would give him? Car is lowered by 30-40mm, Running Powertrix rose jointed front lower adjustable arms, spacers of about 3" (will check later) on rear, running Antera 309's (265? rear - 225? front). HICAS Eliminator fitted. Again can check all settings later on. Or can anyone recommend someone who could look at the car and do a …

The idea is to try to capture the Tyne Tunnel Run this weekend from my point of view. Was just an idea to see if it'd work, I used the seatbelts to anchor two if the tripod legs to the back seat as you can see in the image and a cable tie to secure the leg at the front to the seatbelt arms on both the front seats, the whole thing seems very tight and secure free from movement, I'm hoping with the two tripod legs being on the back seats it'll take the shock and minimise vibration or shaking. I'm going to give it a test run Saturday morning to see if it'll work ok without any shaking etc, if it does shake or vibrate about then I won't bother. If it does work …

Right, has anyone ever removed the spindle that runs through the front throttle housing? I am guessing that those 3 indents on the edge of the casting are perhaps holding the main bush/insert in place? Is it a case of just grinding off the tab on the indent and then pressing out the bush? :hammer: I need to get this out as the being steel it will not go through the Anodisng process. cheers

I'm getting confused by this water bypass thing. I have been following the Aussie owners club bypass and so far so good :thumbup1: I thought I'd finished when I put the bypass pipes in place but they don't match the pics that Jeff put up? PS. Don't worry about the vacumn piping, I know what I'm doing with that  The only pipes I have removed are the throttle water pipes that ran under the plenum. This is the picture of what I've done regarding the actual bypass (new pipes in red). Drivers side Passenger side Have I done this correctly? :helpsmilie:

when i fire my car up with the bonnet open and listen down on the drivers side fronty of teh engine i can here a turning noise. never noticed it before. my paranoia says ahh the cam belt is rubbing or what ever is down there on the anncilary belts has a dying bearing. more likly and more positivly i think it could be teh sound of the alternator when it charging as it is intermitent and far stronger when cold, i havent driven the car for a week. or its the ancilary belts creaking as they turn. so who wants to provide a possibitly? to recap its a faint sound of whirring and turning like a wind up toy down the front left. of teh engine and it gets quieter when the engine is …

At this time of year, it’s beneficial to use an oil that has good cold start flow properties as it will get to the parts of the engine that need it far more quickly when you turn the key on those sub zero mornings. The "w" number which means winter is the key here and the lower it is the better cold start performance the oil will have. A 15w or 20w rated oil will struggle to get around the engine in very cold temps and we would strongly recommend using a 10w, 5w or 0w for better cold start performance. It is a fact that around 90% of all engine wear occurs on cold start because the oil is at its thickest. The colder it gets the thicker the oil bec…

I remember reading posts where people said it was bad to let a car warm up and idle while stationary. The problem I have is my Z is not on the road yet and won't be before this winter. I had bad condensation last year and want to be able to get the heaters going inside the car but obviously have to let the engine run. What damage does it do if left to idle? Thanks Vijay

Been talking to the lads and the water line was above the doors and exhaust pipes:mad::mad: So..... Any ideas on what problems I may encounter, I'm going to rip out the interior and carpets to dry them out and dry off the floor but am I going to have any more issues? Thankfully the car was not started when it was swimming so i…

I am really interested to know how many of us use our cars extensively. As I run my own business, I use mine nearly every day and mostly longer trips. It's a great talking point and people rarely know what it is. In the last 13 months I have clocked up over 14,000 miles and that includes 6 weeks off the road waiting for the heater matrix to be replaced... What sort of mileage are you all doing?
