Right I seem to have developed the issues that seems to relate to the Speed sensor. I loose power steering and speedo at the same time. Im also wondering is the Hicas error is the same fault? The hicas passes the diag test fine and so not sure what else is the issue. Also where is the speedo sensor on the manual gearbox. Makes the job a bit quicker. Thanks

Having tootled to the Mot and back and the Z not moving since I decided this w/end to flush and drop the oil due to a noisey lifter!-then a nip to the garage and round to Boldy's.Course he needed a fix as his is in dry-dock:ninja: When the rear grappled for traction then broke free, that's when I thought "Yup!-that's why I love the "Z! Oh!-and good caning sorted the lifter too-bonus!

Whats everyone running? I've looked at the 'tyre pressures - getting them right' post, but with different load ratings front and rear, and assuming a 52/48 front/rear weight distribution, i get to 33psi in the front, and 29psi in the rear... Thats on 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 tyres. Does this sound about right? whats everyone else running at? Looking forward to a glorious 200mile round trip at xmas :D, and wanna make sure they're right before I set off. Cheers!

Went and met up with JaiKai for the first time today and got the Zed plugged up to Conzult (top guy, had a good look at his Zed's and got some ideas :p ). I will post up the screenshots later once Lee emails them too me but I have a question in the mean time, is 30 degrees BTDC a bit excessive for the timing? Reason I'm asking is I still have problems starting from cold and this could be the cause if it's far out, according to Jeff when I first joined the forums. Any help would be appreciated guys!

Okay so I'm now officially on my rescue mission for my car. the old girl has been sat in a hotel car park for more than 2 weeks due to the snow 200 miles from where I live after my works Xmas do. Doh! So I'm currently waiting for a train Which late (brilliant!) to take me to Glasgow where I'm going to meet a colleague who is going to take me to stirling. I have with me everything I can think of that I might need to get it started and home including recovery documents! Wish me luck guys! 11:55 train due at 12:23.... Here's to hoping!

Strange lights on the front of the Z!-sidelights on,everything o.k.(in the fogs/jdm) turn on the indicator and another sidelight(in the indicator lamp) comes on!-thought they could be ''running lights'' but they go off when the indicators are off! So I am wondering if U.S spec side indicator lights have been fitted?- thoughts?

My sidelights / headlights are wired into a different switch in the side of my light pod, as apparently the proper switch stopped working. The wiring is a bit of a mess and the off-side 'square' headlight isn't even wired up, there isn't even a connector for the bulb! :confused1: This might sound like a silly question, but I'm hoping someone can tell me which lights should come on when? Sidelights seem fine. However, when I put headlights on the two round headlight come on and that it. Should the square ones come on too? If I pull back the indicator stalk the main beam (flash) on the near side headlight comes one (the other square one cant as its not…

  18. my thoughts are that I am seriously liking this motor  My biggest criticisms would be the handling in the bad weather and the harsh ride on the rubbish cattle track roads we have over here. But the above aside, I like her! The looks of the car, the handling (in dry conditions) the smooth delivery of power from the V6, the subtle exhaust notes from the twins at the back and the many positive comments from the guys and girls at work amount to a smile on my face driving!

I'm going to be changing my alternator and starter motor today as they are both playing up, as well as a couple of other little bits. Just want to check a couple of things first. When changing the starter motor, is it as easy as unbolting the old one and bolting on the new?? Do i need to grease the new one first? And do i need to drain the oil?? Basics i know, but I've never changed a starter before, so worth asking IMO. Also, does anyone know the size, or better yet part number, for the alternator belt? Worth renewing that while i change the alternator i think. Lastly, anyone in my area fancy getting dirt under their fingernails? :p I don't really need help, …

Hi there I am the new owner of your old zed, its been sooo fantastic since i got it from Mickey B,s dad. There has been soooooooooooo many mods to this since you last owned it. Can you give me your tel no, or email addy ? Thanks Regards Chris

My zed has got the power steering problem I have bought replacement parts and still no joy. Thing is I also run a discovery V8 and have been using that for last 3 weeks, now I know I wouldn't have used the zed in this weather but I haven't missed it. I have had the car over 10 years now and no probs but this power steering fault is getting me down, it may be the end of a beautiful relationship. I am off work next week and will give it one more look at then thats it, it can stop in the garage with a sheet over it until we sell the house and is found by the new buyers. Bit like when an old farm is bought and an old classic is found in the barn. LOL.

I've got a pair of rims, 18" x 10" wide (ET +45) on the rear of my zed. They sit flush to the rear arch nicely (with big brake discs fitted and no spacer required). I've got a pair of 18" x 9" wide (ET +45) to go on the front, though I can't be sure that they'll sit flush/too far out/too far in of the front arches as the whole front suspension has been removed. (Q1) Do these offsets and dimensions sound about right for the front? cheers
