My sidelights / headlights are wired into a different switch in the side of my light pod, as apparently the proper switch stopped working. The wiring is a bit of a mess and the off-side 'square' headlight isn't even wired up, there isn't even a connector for the bulb! :confused1: This might sound like a silly question, but I'm hoping someone can tell me which lights should come on when? Sidelights seem fine. However, when I put headlights on the two round headlight come on and that it. Should the square ones come on too? If I pull back the indicator stalk the main beam (flash) on the near side headlight comes one (the other square one cant as its not…

my thoughts are that I am seriously liking this motor  My biggest criticisms would be the handling in the bad weather and the harsh ride on the rubbish cattle track roads we have over here. But the above aside, I like her! The looks of the car, the handling (in dry conditions) the smooth delivery of power from the V6, the subtle exhaust notes from the twins at the back and the many positive comments from the guys and girls at work amount to a smile on my face driving!

I'm going to be changing my alternator and starter motor today as they are both playing up, as well as a couple of other little bits. Just want to check a couple of things first. When changing the starter motor, is it as easy as unbolting the old one and bolting on the new?? Do i need to grease the new one first? And do i need to drain the oil?? Basics i know, but I've never changed a starter before, so worth asking IMO. Also, does anyone know the size, or better yet part number, for the alternator belt? Worth renewing that while i change the alternator i think. Lastly, anyone in my area fancy getting dirt under their fingernails? :p I don't really need help, …

My zed has got the power steering problem I have bought replacement parts and still no joy. Thing is I also run a discovery V8 and have been using that for last 3 weeks, now I know I wouldn't have used the zed in this weather but I haven't missed it. I have had the car over 10 years now and no probs but this power steering fault is getting me down, it may be the end of a beautiful relationship. I am off work next week and will give it one more look at then thats it, it can stop in the garage with a sheet over it until we sell the house and is found by the new buyers. Bit like when an old farm is bought and an old classic is found in the barn. LOL.

I've got a pair of rims, 18" x 10" wide (ET +45) on the rear of my zed. They sit flush to the rear arch nicely (with big brake discs fitted and no spacer required). I've got a pair of 18" x 9" wide (ET +45) to go on the front, though I can't be sure that they'll sit flush/too far out/too far in of the front arches as the whole front suspension has been removed. (Q1) Do these offsets and dimensions sound about right for the front? cheers

Does anyone have any of the original concept sketches for the 300zx. Id love to see them, maybe turn them into a poster or something. And ofcourse id love to see peoples attempts. I suck at render sketches. :thumbup1:

Hi All, So I came onto the dual carrage way, gave it a bit of gas upto 75. Immediately afterwards there was a loud bang followed by a horrendous grinding noise which sounds like my exhaust scraping on the floor. Pulled over and nothing underneath so drove 6 miles home at about 10mph sounding like a tractor! I jacked up the car when I got home and the grinding noise appears when I turn the wheels, it is more dominant when turning the wheels forward. Where the prop joins the diff there is ALOT of play which leads me to believe the pinion or (centre?) bearing has disintegrated? Is this right? What is the right bearing I need? Is this the correct dia…

Hi All, I'd ideally like to fit my stock exhaust with some new, wider tail pipes. the problem i have is that i'd probably need to remove the tow rings to enable them to fit so my question is this. What are the tow rings for? towing the Z or to tow another car with the Z? Would i be ok to remove these? Cheers Peter

Ok so i put my breaker on Gumtree for parts and i got an email off a guy wanting to buy the complete thing so i emailed him saying that was possible and then was asked for a price without him even knowing what was left. I said a very reasonable £1000 then i got this email Hello Mate, Thanks for the mail, the price is affordable, so i want you to get back to me with your paypal email account or your bank details, so that i can proceed with the payment as soon as you get back to me with the details. Thanks and i await your fast response. Lennie. I then thought hold on you dont even know what the car looks like and what is left on it. Then af…

Ok, I've had my Zed less than a week and I've broken her! Snow or not I've been using the car on and off, just getting use to her. I haven't had any problems other than in-roads where there are two tyre tracks and a clump of ice / snow in the middle. Now my Zed has huge back boxes, behind these back boxes there seem to be addition silencers, these rub and catch on the snow. I assume its these catching. Anyway, I was driving along on a clear road when I could hear a rattle, which got increasingly louder. I figured I had knocked loose an exhaust clamp which was now rattling around the exhaust. The rattling / vibrating was making quite a bit of noise …

Got a hold of conzult and just wanted a knowing member to check out these readings and see if they make sense and if anything needs to be adjusted. I'm still thinking i've got some sort of leak down the passengers side of the engine; i've checked and carefully listened but cannot pinpoint it; seems to be down the back end of the right side of the balance bar - small hissing noise. Anyways heres the pics of conzult.
