feeling a bit dumb, only had my zed 14 years and today i noticed the wheels are sided :/

Saw in an earlier thread that the auto box runs the car at 70mph at 2600rpm. My car is away at the moment so I can't check but happy to accept that. So the question is can I make the car any more long-legged ? I was out in my wife's 118d BMW and at 70mph the engine is almost just ticking over and as such I'm guessing is therefore more economical ? Can you change ratios in an auto ? Alternatively, provided the mating plate can be fabricated and the input shaft matches, are there other gearboxes available ? Guys, Looking for some help with wheel widths and offsets please, from you gurus out there. My current set up is as follows: Fronts - 9J x 18 et +24 (235/45 IIRC) Rears - 10J x 18 et -31 (295/35) I am considering some Work Equip wheels, they are: 9x18 et+22 8x18 et +22 The fronts seem easy I can use the 9x18 Works on the front with just a small difference to what I have now. The rears are way off. I am happy to run up to 12 on the rears, in theory is it just as simple as buying new outer barrels for the 8x18,giving me a decent dish. Hi guys I'm having a bit of an issue with the zed and wondering if anybody can offer any insight. I have been driving the last few weeks without any issue, however I come to leave work today and can't get her to start. Turn the key and all the electrics come on, turn it further to start and can feel/hear the starter kicking in but no life. Try again and same thing happens. I get out the car and can smell fuel, I'm not sure if this is indication of a leak or just the unignited fuel in the engine. Since ownership iv not checked the spark plugs, but the car was serviced before purchase. Anything else I could look out for or check?

Since the blue car is now finished, and I haven't been massively active here, I thought I'd post some photos. I know some have followed my billion photos on Facebook, but some aren't there, and won't see notifications etc as I haven't been posting on the various 300 pages. Being doing bits and pieces over the last year or so to get the car back on the road and to a decent point. It's by no means perfect, but I think it's come on very well. Just wanting people's thoughts on whether it's worth while. On both standard and modified cars. I know you lose some top end speed, but I doubt I'll ever be trying to travel at 190 or whatever the top speed is

The blue fat booty car is pretty much finished, but i have a couple of screws that are needed and im hoping someone can confirm the right ones. I have screws lying all over but I want to use the right ones if possible. The first is a bracket/trim piece on the series 1 door card. Has 3 screws. The other is the cover at the back of the wing mirrors. Could be a push type screw. Photos would be awesome if anyone can help.

Hi All, I have a correct set of UK spec OEM alloys that I have just had completely refurbished and was wondering what size tyres to fit?? What make tyres came from the factory?? I went under my car yesterday and noticed some oil accumulating on the transmission about half way up by the drain/fill plugs. The leak seems to be spraying either side of the transmission tunnel and the transmission but I don't see any on the turbos or nearby. Looks to have been this way for a while. Any suggestions?

Went to go out in the zed for the first time in weeks and on start up she was only running on 5 cylinders ,so started pulling the plugs to the coil packs one at a time, the first one on the left side didn't make a difference when unplugged ,so I swopped out the coil pack with the one next to it plugged it all back in and now works perfect,anyone had trouble like this before? could it be that the coil pack is near the end of its life . I also checked the plug for that green looking crap inside but its nice and clean.

I want to remove driver's side valve cover to replace gasket but all hoses are hard to the touch. I need all new driver's side hoses. I've contacted Nissan Dealerships, etc. but no hoses to be had. One local dealership said they could order the secondary air hose but nothing else was available. I need help as want to help my mechanic get the hoses. Kindly, Cydne

Jimmer has worked his magic and the car is running sweet as a nut ! Actually I think it's quieter than it's ever been ! Jimmer himself said he's very happy with it, commenting that it's a very strong and sound engine so I'm happy too. I think it's a wonderful testament for these cars that after standing for so long it's all positive. The rot has all been cut out and new bodywork sorted. This included the front radiator / air conditioning crossmember/mount that had rusted to dust almost. Removing the a/c proved difficult as it was in a fragile condition so it was replaced. Hey Folks! Now this might be a long shot, but I’m desperately in need of finding the previous owners of my Z. From the info I can find on the internet, there has been 2 owners in the UK. First owner aquired the car on June 11th 2005 where it was imported from Japan, and second owner got the car on April 11th 2008. The car was then exported to Denmark on July 10th 2012. I know the name of the second owner, but cannot seem to find any contact information.
