I was having a great deal of trouble finding the cause of a misfire on my no.1 cylinder. I change the coil pack twice for know good ones, checked the injector was firing properly, changed both the coil and inj connectors for new ones, tried a different spark plug but still the misfire was there! I then had a look at my relocated PTU and the 7 pin side had been getting water in to it and had rusted up plus the loom connectors were green! A quick clean up and the misfire had gone  Need to replace the loom part that's corroded and re-think my location for the PTU (on inner wing next to batt) but I call that a result.

Looking to buy one of these - any tips on the best/cheapest place to get one? I''m a bit dubious of trusting a name I dont know with that kind of money - there's a few on eBay for £550 or the cheapest I've found using the shopping search on google is £385? :confused1: but I've never heard of the company name - Link. Any recommendations? Also - what else will I need to buy to fit this to the car? Or does it come with a universal fitting kit? Cheers, James

HI All, I've had a Leaky drivers side T-Top for a while, Just near the front window corner. As a stop gap i tried to plug it with Blu tack but it hasn't really worked. I'm sure i seen somewhere that you can get something like a gel to expand the rubber slightly or something? not too sure if i dreamt it lol. :stupid: However, i really don't want to go replacing seals just for this tiny leak so any help will be appreciated :thumbup1: Peter

I've been replacing vacuum piping on my spare engine getting it ready to go in my beast but I can't work out where this pipe goes? The vacumm diagram says it goes to the throttle bodies but where abouts? (photo 1) Also, I took the other side off to replace and found a metal restricter in the end, I can only assume that this is a mig tip. My old zed that the engine came from did boost off the scale and didn't have any after market boost controllers, so I did think "boost jets". I this right? Oh yeah, I forgot. Where do the two oil lines that come out of the oil pan go to? (photo 2) Cheers Dave

After nearly two years this little gem is finally running like it should do. I cant thank Jimmer and John dixon enough for finally bringing my zed back to life. At times I wanted to give up or break it for parts especially when I had done all the work and the head gasket had failed. Its now perfect and like a dream come true. I went to Bristol today to jimmers Garage and I cant believe just how nice the guys have it running. Im real glad it is no longer a pressure cooker and John managed to sort it out with a base map before it goes off to be tuned. Its going to be quite a car!!!!! Its quite something the free reving engine easily goes to over 8000 rpm its mental. …

Today , Sunday 9/1/11 @ 3:45 pm . Going around the Duke of Wellington Place / Hyde Park Corner roundabout . Black , high spoiler , it looked great on the move . I didn`t realise this superb-looking car was a Zed for a split second , I see them so rarely , and I was watching the lights to shoot across the road on me Boris Bike ! Great example .

Hi guys, got a set of used alloys which I want to fit to my 2+2 ZX and want to have them refurbished, at the same time I thought I would have them widened to the outside. They are 18" 8J 40 offset for the fronts and 18" 9J 35 offset for the rears. Was wondering if I have them widened by an inch (25mm) to the out sides would the numeric offsets be reduced by what is being added, ie front offset would now be 15mm and the rears 10mm. If so would these now fit without tyres catching? I have stock springs. I am looking at 235 30 18 fronts and 275 35 18 for the rears or maybe 265 for the rears would be better. Thanks for any advice.
