General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Guys, 3rd post of the day but need some advice! I have bought a set of wheels that I don't like on the car so.........I am looking at two different sets. The first is the easier option I guess as they come in 19's meaning I can keep my brand new tyres lol (Rota Grid type wheels) The 2nd set only come in 18's but I think are the preferred, What do you guys reckon and does anyone have similar on their car? HI Guys, I will of course start a proper for sale thread but I need some guidance on the going rate if possible? I have a standard set of rear lights and centre panel from my car (28k original miles), they are in really nice condition just keen to get the right money for them. not really a fan of any aftermarket rear light and I think this maybe a photoshop but boy does it look nice! I have just done a pointless tacky mod to my slicktop today..:lol: In my defense ........it was free:whistling: Even that probably doesnt justify doing it:laugh: The before and after pics are underwhelming............................. AFTER BEFORE

Over the last couple of weeks, my car has started to smoke when it's fully warmed up and only when idling from the offside tailpipe. After the full day driving around the lakes yesterday, it's pretty clear that performance isn't suffering but every time we pulled up for a bit, it started to smoke again! Any ideas what it could be? I have the Leyland parade in a couple of weeks, I can't have it smoking out the crowd! :lol:

Hey people, Just to let you all know, I have put my 300 on Auto trader for sale. This was a very hard decision for me to make and I am, to put it bluntly, absolutely gutted. Myself and my wife have opened a new business venture and we need funds to make it work, so the zed has to go. You may think the figure is too high, but I have valued it on the time, money and back breaking hours spent on getting my 300 to what she is today. Just spent over £4000 getting some paint work, injectors, cambelt and service (Jimmer) to get her to a saleable condition. Just thought I'd put it on here so people know it's my zed on the market. ? I’m hoping someone might be able to explain why you would both have the same profile on both the front and rear tyres? I was just about to order a set of four new tyres when I noticed that the fronts are currently 235/40/18 when the rears are 265/35/18. Cheers, Chris.

I have just "found" this in my storage room??:whistling: It doesnt fit my slicktop. Im assuming this is for the "family" version? Can someone confirm this is a 2+2 carpet?

I've put all the interior back in, went for a test drive but no indicators. So went home & changed the fuse & they worked. Went back out but 10minites later no indicators again. Thinking maybe I've caught a wire as I've been putting the interior back in, gona check later. Anyone had this before?

Hello all,l am having yet another problem,when I start the car it idles around 900 rpm,but after 30 seconds or so the revs keep droping down to 500rpm until it nearly conks out,also the car doesn't seem to rev up when I turn on a/c,lights,etc.anyone know what might be wrong?Also I have a diagnostic cable if that might help.thanks guys.

LOL guys here with another problem,my electric windows are not working on both sides,passanger and drivers(passanger and drivers switch,s do nothing)The only thing that happens is that on the drivers switch when i press up for the drivers window,the switch makes a noise,Is the switch screwed or would you guys know what the problem might be,Thanks all

Hi guys i have sorted out the issue with the damp in the car(targa pipe pulled out on drivers side)At the fuse box, but i have a brown relay and a blue relay and i dont know if they are working,can i use a battery charger or multimeter to check if they are bad,any info would be great.Thanks guys and gals

Hi all, I have pulled out of buying two Z's in the past few months after going to view them due to being concerned about potential rust issues, patched up historical work and even recent new work that I felt was dubious. My challenge is not going to get any easier over time. As a community it seems we know where to go for parts, we know reliable people for engine work but I have no clue who I can really trust to do a great job for bodywork. Do we know of any decent bodyshops that have done work on members Z's? Is there a club recommended trader etc? I am based in the Midlands where there are plenty of bodyshops. Hi, I have somehow managed to shear off the bolt that goes through the glass on the drivers door window. Does anyone know if it can be easily removed or is it easier to just replace the glass? I've seen the bolt for sale at Concept Z for $0.77 but they want $18 for delivery :laugh::laugh: Cheers

My slicktop has been parked up and a bit neglected since late last year. Prepping and selling my spare slicktop, building a new trackday car and an exciting new house project in Spain have taken up most of my time, energy and money so far this year. However this week I met up with my buddy Bob Dixon and bought his Volk Racing SE37s complete with some used trackday tyres fitted:thumbup1: I got them on the car today and Im very happy. Hi guys i am having problems with the fuses on my 300zx,The problems i am having are the indicators wont work only when i use the hazards(the relay is clicking) they do but on the guage cluster the left arrow only lights up,also my power windows wont work also my hicas light is on,i have checked for power in the fuese but 5 hilighted in the pic there is no power to them,anyone else have this problem or might know what might be wrong?Thanks all - - - Updated - - - https://ibb.co/kZp9GJ

Hi all, I thought I’d throw this out here to knock some heads together as this problem is really frustrating me now! It started off as a very mild vibration when braking at speeds at around 80mph and above but gradually got worse over a period of months. It was never “too” bad but I decided to try and rectify it before a trip to the Lake District and now it’s become “too” bad! As it stands I get fairly severe vibration at all speeds down to around 20-30mph where it fizzles away. When I first take the car out, it’s nice and smooth with no feedback but after the 2nd or 3rd use of the brakes it begins to worsen and after that it’s at its worst. When I release …
