Just going to pick up my Z, IT PASSED TODAY WITH NO ADVISARIES, another year on the road, and now I can see where I am going having new Hid,s fitted, Hooorayyyyyyyyyyy Cheerz Chris

Morning Gents Your help please if you will...... I took My ZX out for a short trot last night. Parked it up at the shop for a couple of minutes. When I went back to it and tried to start it, it wouldn't turn over. Dash lights came on but the starter didn't engage. As I had luckily parked it on a hill, I bump started it and drove it home. When I got home and turned the engine off there was a loud 'whirring' noise coming from under the bonnet. As you look at the front of the car it seemed to be coming from the back left hand side low down. I've disconnected the battery now to prevent any further damage. Well, im at a point now with my zed that i thought i'd be close to finishing it and enjoying the summer, but its not to be.. After getting it all up and running, mot'd and taxed, its smoking.. Changed the pcv valves and its still smoking. The turbos were rebuilt before fitting them, but the engine was secondhand. Ive spoken to a few people, (inc Jeff and Jamie) and piston rings sound like a possibility. Thats no small job, and with it needing a respray and the interior tidying, should i stop now and buy a ready built zed??

Ive got an NA rear axle so no system. but ive still got the actuator thing in the engine bay. Not needed so i was wondering what can be removed. Its still got the pipes dangling at the back of the car. If its not being used is it still in the fluid loop (will it have stuff in) What can i do with the excess wiring. TIA Mark

Hi all, What a pain in the arse i fitted my fuel tank ages ago and just needed to fit the fuel pipe on but had lost the screws that i also found again tonight:thumbup1: Anyway mine doesnt line up correct! Is the flexi pipe ment to flex because mines fixed? Is there an easy way to fit the pipe or am i doing something totally wrong here haha.

I'm a bit confused about these. Japspeed say that they are for NA Manuals only and 2fast2cool2 say that they are for TT or NA manuals but don't fit standard precats :confused1: What's the real deal with these? I want them to decat my TT manual :chef:, will they fit "out of the box"or do they need fettling? It's making my brain hurt :online2long:

I think I have a hamster in my car. Every time I shut the door it squeeks, everytime I go over a bump it squeeks. Every wobble I make it squeeks. So what's the most common squeek source on the 300?

What a top fella JeffTT is. I bought the mines ECU from him last week for £90. Great price i thought, so get it as soon as possible to avoid missing out. Then another come ups for sale via another member. He asks £70. I thought, oh well, what a bargain. I wasn't upset, just one of those things. Went to Zedworld today, and Jeff gave me £20. I said no, but he wouldn't have it. He wasn't overpriced, its just that the other one was cheap. Even if Jeff did charge more for something, i would expect it, he is there to make money, its his job! i have been looking at these, z centre sells them, but i dont know whether the whole unit lights up or not, it seems there is just a small area where the indicator lamp goes... I dnt want to buy a set if there is only a tiny indicator and tail lights, i want the whole light unot tp function, can anyone confirm this for me?? Thanks, dan

Just got back from the MOT test of my 300zx tt. FAILED!!!! Devastated to say the least,:crying: After 4 years of work with regards to new sills/floor etc' etc' I now find myself with problems that I am unsure of how to fix. I really would appreciate some help and advice please. (1) During break testing, the tester said he thought he had just blown a line at the rear, sure enough, after looking underneath there was fluid pi**ing down onto the right hand side exhaust system, heartbreaking or what. (2) Both rear top tie-bar bushes were shot, causing excessive movement from left to right. When I asked him if this was a big job he would not commit himself. (…

Hi, bit of a newbie to the whole 300zx scene so that i would ask the question before i jump in. I have seen a Red 1992 300zx Twin Turbo Manual with 49k on it. I presume it to be a LWB ( it has rear seats ) ?? It also has the 2 glass roof panels ( removable?? ). Now the car is in very good condition, Unsure if it has history present. It also has what appear to be 18'' split rims and new stainless steel exhaust. I will obviously find out more about the car but just as a rough guide what would you guys reckon this is worth?? Hey, Everyone might know about this, but if not... http://www.websure.co.uk/car/300zxretrim.htm I gave it a quick skim before doing my drivers seat, but once you start it's all pretty obvious and straight forward, though VERY time consuming. I recommend the extended LotR Trilogy to help you through it. Seriously, once you've stripped one seat and re-trimmed another; it makes you feel like Frodo had it easy!! Nice tip on the cable ties, liked that idea, very helpful. You really need Circlip pliers, without them you'll be on a week. On my zed, the drivers side outer of the targa, had developed a small bubbling, once i removed, there is an area the size of a 20p of rust, it has gone through the metal. 1. Why and how would rust attack there, as its not in the path of any of the drain tubes, or water routes. 2. is it possible to replace the outer skin of the targa, this is the metal edge directly above the window, part of the body line. looking on courtsey nissan site, it shows it as a replacement part, but at $160 each side. surely must be an easier way. Got a lovely Sony head unit for my birthday and have discovered two holes in the back where my speakers should be . Looking for something to fill the holes now . Can anyone recommend Some decent speakers from experience . Quite happy to stick with standard sizes . Gone are the days where I installed 7x10s in my front doors :wink:.
