Hi, bit of a newbie to the whole 300zx scene so that i would ask the question before i jump in. I have seen a Red 1992 300zx Twin Turbo Manual with 49k on it. I presume it to be a LWB ( it has rear seats ) ?? It also has the 2 glass roof panels ( removable?? ). Now the car is in very good condition, Unsure if it has history present. It also has what appear to be 18'' split rims and new stainless steel exhaust. I will obviously find out more about the car but just as a rough guide what would you guys reckon this is worth?? Cheers in advance

Hey, Everyone might know about this, but if not... http://www.websure.co.uk/car/300zxretrim.htm I gave it a quick skim before doing my drivers seat, but once you start it's all pretty obvious and straight forward, though VERY time consuming. I recommend the extended LotR Trilogy to help you through it. Seriously, once you've stripped one seat and re-trimmed another; it makes you feel like Frodo had it easy!! Nice tip on the cable ties, liked that idea, very helpful. You really need Circlip pliers, without them you'll be on a week. On stripping my seat I discovered the main rear bar had snapped, it had been welded at both sides by someone…

On my zed, the drivers side outer of the targa, had developed a small bubbling, once i removed, there is an area the size of a 20p of rust, it has gone through the metal. 1. Why and how would rust attack there, as its not in the path of any of the drain tubes, or water routes. 2. is it possible to replace the outer skin of the targa, this is the metal edge directly above the window, part of the body line. looking on courtsey nissan site, it shows it as a replacement part, but at $160 each side. surely must be an easier way. Either i locate a decent targa in KH3 for a UK spec zed, or go down the filler route, which i dont really want to do. Anyone ever replaced t…

Got a lovely Sony head unit for my birthday and have discovered two holes in the back where my speakers should be . Looking for something to fill the holes now . Can anyone recommend Some decent speakers from experience . Quite happy to stick with standard sizes . Gone are the days where I installed 7x10s in my front doors . I used to be quite partial to a Brand called Infinity . Found these so far http://www.bassjunkies.com/speakers/custom-fit-speakers/pioneer-ts-h467?cPath=3_15 http://www.bassjunkies.com/speakers/custom-fit-speakers/kicker-08ks460?cPath=3_15 Any advice is welcome . Like I say I don't want to go too much over the top .

just checked all the steering + suspension components on the zed, checked lower ball joints (as suggested by jeff tt) these are all fine, track rod end are all ok, did notice the passenger side wheel looks to be towing out (noticbly by eye) even though when i have had tracking checked they say it's only out by a small amount and not enough to cause the issues i have, but advised me not to pay to have the tracking done till i replace the rear steering arms and do the lot then (christ a nissan dealer offering good advice!!!) anyway purely by accident i found it, with the steering in the centre position i have a knocking if i sharply move the steering wheel left to right and i …

Okay, I've yet to confirm it, (have borrowed a gastester), but I strongly suspect I've a blown CHG. I'm currently girding my loins for the impending onerous and no doubt costly exercise of having someone remove my engine and attend to the busted components. It may already exist, so apologies if it does but I couldn't find a comprehensive thread. So I'm after a list of jobs to attend to while the engine's out and, (where appropriate), any 'how to's' that might be available and a list of parts I'll need to buy in advance of the 'operation'. NB:- The timing belt and all associated stuff was done about 8 months ago at Zedworld. I look forward to colla…

Fell across this site http://www.fuelly.com/about/ and (as you can see from the little widget thing in my sig) signed up. It's free. It's a nifty way to keep track of your mpg and get it in your sig! Plus it does other stuff as well, there's a mobile site so you can update live. The one thing they haven't got right yet is they put both Z31 and Z32 300ZXs in the same model. If you decide to open an account a) select other for the model and then write in 300ZX Z32 and b) email the organisers to point out that Z31 and Z32 should be kept different! There you go - an easy way to respond to all those posts which ask about mpg! http://www.fuelly.com/car/nissan/300zx

Does anyone here have lightweight wheel nuts and what kind? I was going to get some D1 spec or Rays wheel nuts in black but wanted some opinions first. Some people say they are a bad idea being aluminium and can be dangerous. Any info appreciated

For those of you guys on here running on MeisterR's I was wondering what your personal damper setting preferences are? I understand this is a personal choice but i'm having a play with mine at the minute and wouldn't mind trying some of your suggestions. After all it takes all of 30seconds. I can even change the rears from the drivers seat as I have the damper extensions :thumbup1: All suggestions appreciated guys :yinyang:

So, I had my mate (who owns Restro Restorations - http://retrorestorations.vpweb.co.uk ) round yesterday who is going to help me restore my shortie over the next winter, and we had a quick poke around the car - and it isn't looking good. In his words, there is nothing that he can't fix, but he thinks it might be more viable to look at re-shelling it. So, ignoring labour (we have an arrangement - I do all his valeting and help with prep work in exchange for his hours) what sort of costs should I be looking at for doing a re-shell? This is waaaay more than I would usually take on but I do love my Z's and this way I would end up with a good solid car, built to my sp…
