Okay, I've yet to confirm it, (have borrowed a gastester), but I strongly suspect I've a blown CHG. I'm currently girding my loins for the impending onerous and no doubt costly exercise of having someone remove my engine and attend to the busted components. It may already exist, so apologies if it does but I couldn't find a comprehensive thread. So I'm after a list of jobs to attend to while the engine's out and, (where appropriate), any 'how to's' that might be available and a list of parts I'll need to buy in advance of the 'operation'. Plus it does other stuff as well, there's a mobile site so you can update live. The one thing they haven't got right yet is they put both Z31 and Z32 300ZXs in the same model. Does anyone here have lightweight wheel nuts and what kind? I was going to get some D1 spec or Rays wheel nuts in black but wanted some opinions first. Some people say they are a bad idea being aluminium and can be dangerous. Any info appreciated

where can i get them from in the UK and do i need to change any belts as well?? is the japspeed one any good?

For those of you guys on here running on MeisterR's I was wondering what your personal damper setting preferences are? I understand this is a personal choice but i'm having a play with mine at the minute and wouldn't mind trying some of your suggestions. After all it takes all of 30seconds. I can even change the rears from the drivers seat as I have the damper extensions :thumbup1: All suggestions appreciated guys :yinyang:

So, I had my mate (who owns Restro Restorations - http://retrorestorations.vpweb.co.uk ) round yesterday who is going to help me restore my shortie over the next winter, and we had a quick poke around the car - and it isn't looking good. In his words, there is nothing that he can't fix, but he thinks it might be more viable to look at re-shelling it. So, ignoring labour (we have an arrangement - I do all his valeting and help with prep work in exchange for his hours) what sort of costs should I be looking at for doing a re-shell? Hi all, just installed a blitz turbo timer, , all done correctly , however no ignition, removed the adaptor harness block and returned to normal and all was well, when comparing the harness connectors with the adaptor block it seems there are some differences, ie wire position , can anyone help , is it a case of moving the wire position , if so can anybody explain how best to do it, ???? my car is a 93 tt jap import auto thanks Neil

As son of u know i hav a shit discovery 2 td5 and i have changed the engin mounts today a the car now viberates like hell. Is this due to them been new and they hav to bed in?

Took zed to tyre exaust garage today they were going to put my japspeed de cat down pipes on ,up on the ramps they noticed a snapped stud they said they couldn't do it as they would have to drill it out,the guy from the garage behind said he could do it for £200 sounds like alot of money, what would be a reasonable amount to pay?

as above? ive just swapped the OSF calliper for a reman one as it was badly seized and made such a bad juddering under heavy braking. the NSF was pretty sticky too but not as bad as the other, but the calliper i was sent had had the mount holes fettled with to the wrong thread! as the numbers in the castings were the same i can only guess they drilled it out for some reason. but anyway, my brakes were very very poor, and they overheated after just a couple of hard applications, im not using decent pads though, what are my options without spending huge amounts of cash though?

Finally got it painted , it,s come out quite well considering i used a £40 spray gun from Screwfix ! lol Just need to get it polished , back home and then start putting it all back together :dance::dance: A few pics

so having had a look down there a few times ive noticed that when i got mt new engine i gained a aluminium pulley. was that always there? is it standard? i assume its ali, im very used to looking at ali and steel and spotting the difference at a glance and it looks like ali to me

Its up for sale with "Cylinder Head Damage" - dunno if they mean just gaskets gone, or belt broke etc. Its currently in Germany not too far from me, just wanted to know if anyone here knows anything about it before I answer the advert. Cheers.

Just out of interest where do you lot go for repairs like cambelts, servicing etc? reason i ask is because me and brother have a small garage in the rhondda and we have recently done a fair bit of work on my car with no problems and if there was enough interest maybe we could sort some sort of club discount out for fellow zeders? let me know your thoughts as i know zed world are the boys but there not exactly 5 mins from us unfortantlly!
