Hi, posted a while ago in the Club Membership and Enquiries but I dont think many people read that :) Its an app for your smartphones (Apple, Android, Symbian) that allows you to read (properly) the club forum. Any chance of getting the coding added to here so we can use it? It would mean a more active forum as most of us are restricted at work as to what we can view/post. Cheers Im sure there are plenty of people who could testify/back me up as to what a good app it is and how well it works.

Morning all Resubscribed, the Wife had serious words with me about advertising my car, and the upshot is, I cant go through with it. I absolutely love the look of the car, even trying to convince my wife it has a nicer rear end than the white 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo we saw yesterday - lol. Ive removed it from ebay, and Im gonna see how money goes so I can start sorting out the little bits that niggle me. I met a really nice chap who is now on this forum (Sean?) who came round to view car (even took his shoes off to get in!), who I guess as hes local I'll be seeing more of in future. Sean, When you pick up a zed youre more than welcome to pop round mate for c…

Ok well I just went out for a drive in the car for the first time in 7 months since I had all the work done to her and im getting vibration when I exceed 40mph from the middle of the car. I'm sure it has something to do with the prop because I had a brand new centre bearing fitted and before the work was done it only knocked a bit when pulling off and never vibrated when moving. Could it be a prop balancing issue? I can only feel vibration coming from the centre of the car near the armrest and not from the steering wheel although when you creep up in speed the whole car vibrates obviously.

Ok so when I bought my car, I was told it had uprated turbos and that they were turned right down (I assumed adjustable actuator), 0.4bar was what he told me, he also didn't know what they were and reckoned he'd spent thousands on the engine, which I don't believe, because half of it is tacked together really poorly I'm now finding out. I finally fitted a boost gauge last week before the car came off the road and nailed it a few times, aside from a few boost spikes which I reckon means I've got a leak somewhere, the needle seemed to sit somewhere between 0.4 and 0.5. I've also noticed, that the car doesn't seem to boost much, until really late on in the acceler…

Hi all, Have a listen to this clip on youtube. It is exactly what I am hearing on my own Zed. Saves me recording a video :) There are two sounds in the video, first the higher pitched faster tapping which has a regular rhythm but behind it there is a slower knocking kind of noise. The later is what I am concerned about. Is this the hydraulic lifters I've herd about of is it something worse developing? cheers, jay...

Evening guys and gals, Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with getting Alloys refurbed in Wiltshire? I've been through a few websites but would prefer to get personal experiences rather than go by their own hype. My wheels have no major damage, just slight kerbing on two of the wheels and they also have some of the lacquer peeling. Would rather drive somewhere and leave the car hence why I'm trying to keep it local. Cheers for any input! Dave

Well, ive decided to not spend any more money on my zed. After all the work thats been done to it, and all that money, its no better off than when i first bought it! I do want a zed, but ive had enough. Hence me thinking to get an N/a. I know its not the same, but as i dont drive fast on the road anyway, it might make sence. Anybody gone from TT - NA? I could always rebuild my engine over time and do a TT conversion if i need the power..

Hi All, having some problems with a clutch! Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar or has any suggestions? My old clutch started slipping over xmas, so had a uprated one fitted from a very reputable garage, and in the knowledge that if i did get my car remapped for 350ish bhp it would be fine. I then had the ecu remapped three weeks ago, and the day after the clutch started slipping under full acceleration in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Its been back to the garage twice now... first was to have the pedal adjusted as it was thought that i was slightly depressing the clutch by resting my foot on it (?), which didnt solve it, and then the second time the clutch flu…

With the warmer weather we've been having, my car has only been boosting to about 10psi during the daytime, then when it the air cools down in the evening it boosts to 14psi as it should. Now I know that the turbos won't work so well in warmer air, but it's not a problem that I ever had during last summer. There used to be a minor difference when it was warm, but not so exaggerated as it is now. I'm wondering what could be causing it to lose so much pressure, boost leak? I figure if it was a boost leak then it wouldn't be reaching full boost when the air is cooler. Could it be a faulty sensor of some sort? Or are my turbos shagged?

  16. Hi everyone, Sorry for the lengthy post - I've recently got my zed back together after having it up in the air over the past few months undersealing, changing the prop, doing the belts etc. Got her back on the floor last weekend and tried to move it round the drive to find I couldn't engage any gears. Checked the clutch reservoir and it was low/empty so I put some fluid in and bled it through but still no clutch. The boot on the slave cylinder looks pretty damp inside so does mean this is the most likely culprit? I tried to check the master cylinder using a hose clamp on the flexi pipe to the slave cyliner and the pedal goes really firm so I dont think that's the pro…

I spent a couple of hours taking my silicone pipes and other engine parts off yesterday to give them a really good clean, I know my car is lowered, but MAN MY BACK HURT towards the end. Any tips or tricks on how to work on a 300zx engine and NOT break your back? :cool2:

  23. My mind is going a hundred miles an hour about my Slicky. It is actually keeping me awake. Do I sell it, get the manual conversion done (have all parts including gearbox, brand new clutch/flywheel/rad) etc, or have a 60/120 service carried out. Or go mad and have the conversion and full service along with one piece prop and lightened pulley? I'm not a wealthy man so this is a huge decision for me. I have spent an awful lot(to me) in the year I've owned the car and I'm at a bit of a crossroads. All well considered thoughts are most welcome when you wake/read this :sleeping:

Hi, can anyone advise what these flexi pipes are for? Should they be connected to anything? There is one on each side of my zed and only noticed them when I jacked the car up to do the 1st oil change since getting her. What a mess! :ohmy:The oil filter was leaking (for a while by the looks of things) and redecorated the underneath a lovely shade of brown!:scared: Off to get many cans of degreaser tomorrow. Lovely!!! The pipes are grey plastic and look very simular to washing machine drain hoses :confused1: http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n141/chris_fulgoni/Dscf0721.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n141/chris_fulgoni/Dscf0719-1.jpg http://i111.photobucket…
